Guest Julius Quasar
Here's what it is, for those of you who don't know:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBGBYeah...I myself always wanted to go there, but it's gone now! Damn! They are gonna reopen it in Las Vegas, at the "New York, New York" Hotel and Casino. They'll take the original graffiti-ed up bathroom wall, and some of the other original stuff from there, and put it in the new CBGB, but I say it's just not the same. Oh well...Feel free to talk about CBGB here in this thread.I think it's awesome how many famous musicians got their start there. That's what I like about it most, it's history,. It was mean to be something else, but instead, it found a different niche, an awesome one. With today's crummy economy, I doubt another "CBGB" type of place will open up soon...if there is one like that in L.A., they're probably gonna be gone soon (the cafe sandwich shop next door to the Pantages theater in L.A. went outta business...You would think they would've STAYED OPEN, given their location and such). Sarita
The owner died. I dunno if his daughter (who won most of the estate) has plans to move it anymore. It's not mentioned anywhere in the Wiki article, but of course, it being Wikipedia, I'll keep looking. :)

I heard that she was selling CBGB's, (the business entity/name rights and some of the stuff like the bathroom wall and stuff like that) to the New York, New York Hotel/Casino in Vegas, where they were gonna reopen it there. Thanks, Sissi.
