ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Since some of us don't like how Fred's making Star Fox-The Animated Series, well, why don't we discuss how we individually would reinterpret the Star Fox universe. Please no flame wars or trolling, let's just be grown-up about this and share ideas.StoryOriginal: Andross has turned the Lylat System into a galaxy of near-extinction, but General Pepper is able to get him exiled to Venom. Five years later Pepper notices strange happenings on Venom, so James McCloud, Pigma Dengar and Peppy Hare are sent to investigate. When they arrive on Venom Pigma betrays Star Fox, James is allegedly killed and Peppy escapes to tell James’ son Fox about the incident. Years later Andross invades Lylat again, but Pepper has help from Fox and his new Star Fox team to fight back Andross and once again free Lylat.Reinterpretation: Same as the original, but instead Corneria is at first ruled by a high council whom Pepper encourages to exile Andross for his dangerous experiments. Five years later Andross attacks Corneria directly with his newly constructed army on Venom. Seventy percent of the Cornerian population is wiped out, including Fox’s father and the Cornerian High Council. Andross has extended his iron fisted rule across Lylat, but Pepper, along with some of his surviving troops, has secretly begun rebuilding the Cornerian army as a legion of freedom fighters. Their most powerful members are Star Fox, an elite group of pilots in the Cornerian Air Force led by Fox McCloud, son of the late Cornerian Marshal of the Air James McCloud.FoxOriginal: Son of James McCloud, leader of the original Star Fox. After his father died Fox formed a new Star Fox team to avenge his father and free the Lylat System. Strong sense of justice and desire to help others. Develops feelings towards Krystal even before she joins Star Fox. Has a fierce rivalry with Wolf.Reinterpretation: Son of James McCloud, Corneria’s previous Marshal of the Air. Formed his own division of the Cornerian Air Force called Star Fox to fight against Andross’ oppression and bring freedom back to the galaxy. Very concerned about the well-being of his friends and teammates. Fox’s mother, Vixy Reynard, is his only surviving relative after Andross took over Lylat. Occasionally Fox gets into childish arguments with wingmate Falco Lombardi, forcing Slippy to break them up.FalcoOriginal: Originally a member of a space biker gang before he joined the new Star Fox team, developing his love for flying. Very cocky and arrogant, hates to admit whenever he makes a mistake in battle. Nevertheless Falco enjoys the company of his teammates, and is always waiting for whenever Lylat is facing a crisis so that he can fly into action. Very argumentative, especially with Slippy.Reinterpretation: Once a soft-hearted, ordinary kid from a poor neighborhood, Falco was captured and tortured by Leon Powalski into revealing the whereabouts of his freedom fighter parents, both of whom were hunted down and killed afterwards. Since then Falco has become hot-tempered and cynical, and dwells solely on fighting until every last member of Andross’ forces is dead, especially their sadistic corporal Leon who tortured him earlier. Despite his now darker personality Falco occasionally jokes around with his teammates, and teases Slippy by referring to him as “geek”, “frog boy” or “the repair guy”.PeppyOriginal: Member of the original Star Fox led by James McCloud, sole surviving member after Pigma’s betrayal. Gives advice to other members of Fox’s new Star Fox in battle, and many of their other missions. Rarely climbs into his Arwing nowadays because of how much older and not as strong he is than the rest of the team. Acts as Fox’s father figure.Reinterpretation: At first a university student who wanted to become a doctor, Peppy decided that after Andross’ invasion that he was needed in the Cornerian Army more than anything as a medic. Joined Star Fox as their medical officer and tactical adviser. Would rather stay on the Great Fox, Star Fox’s command ship, than join the rest of the team in battle, but usually he doesn’t have any other choice. Somewhat more slimmed down than the original, and surprisingly effective at hand-to-hand combat.SlippyOriginal: Star Fox’s technician. Very timid and not a very good pilot, getting chased by enemy fighters more than anyone else on the team, but a very good marksman in on-foot missions and better suited to ground-based vehicles like the Landmaster. Excellent with building weaponry and vehicles for the team. Often teased by the rest of the team for being rather clumsy and his other humorous faults. He’s been Fox’s best friend since they were children.Reinterpretation: Again, Fox’s childhood best friend, but much more competent than the original. Nevertheless better with the Landmaster than anyone else on the team like the original. Somewhat taller and fatter than the original. Great with negotiations so Slippy prefers to talk things through with others before resorting to violence. Has a crush on Amanda, head of the Cornerian Army’s naval division. Reminiscent of Wheeljack from Transformers.KrystalOriginal: An orphan who searched the Lylat System for clues as to why her people were massacred, but came across a distress call on Sauria. On Sauria she was kidnaped by Andross and the Sharpclaw army, but Fox saved her life. Hiding feelings for each other Krystal became a full member of Star Fox. She proves to be an excellent sharpshooter. Implied that she was of a very important position among her people.Reinterpretation: Her homeworld was originally one of Sauria’s moons which crashed to the planet’s surface 20 years ago, creating the mystical Moon Mountain Pass. The Cerinians settled down as a new addition to Sauria’s tribes. Her tribal outfit is the same but somewhat less revealing in the top, and the loincloth extends to her knees. A kind young woman, but a very fierce warrior armed with her staff. She falls in love with Fox after Star Fox helps her defend her people from Andross, but she’s too tomboyish to show him her affection. Often strikes Falco for making hurtful remarks about her or her culture.ROBOriginal: The Great Fox’s robot pilot. Backs Star Fox up in battle by sending them extra supplies or using the Great Fox’s main guns to shoot down larger enemy ships. Keeps his cool but sometimes reacts to certain situations with sarcasm.Reinterpretation: Same as the original, but has mannerisms similar to C3PO from Star Wars, and Alpha 5 from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Even though he’s mostly a service robot, ROB is equipped with electrified spikes on the backs of his hands to defend himself. Spends most of his time helping Slippy work on Star Fox’s weapons and vehicles. That's all I can share for now.

Eagle Kammback
OK, well, I would try to make it like a Navy Air Combat movie, ever seen Flight of the Intruder? Kind of like that, just replace the A-6 Intruder with the Arwing obviously, and the Carrier with the Great Fox.It would take place on one planet, one very similar to Earth, and probably in one generalized locationVoices:Fox: Burt Reynolds with his southern accent from the 70sFalco: Tom CruisePeppy: Gene HackmanSlippy: Woody Allen or Richard DreyfussPepper: Harvey Keitel or R. Lee ErmeyROB: Douglas Rain (Voice of the HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey)Andross, maybe as an enemy commander, not a floating brain: Vincent PriceKrystal (if I decided to put her in it): Jewel Staite or Gretchen MolWould be a tad more realistic than the games, more like Star Wars, but again, in one location
Guest Julius Quasar
Fred's doing okay, IMO.OK, well, I would try to make it like a Navy Air Combat movie, ever seen Flight of the Intruder? Kind of like that, just replace the A-6 Intruder with the Arwing obviously, and the Carrier with the Great Fox.Krystal (if I decided to put her in it): Jewel Staite Flight of the intruder is awesome!I could picture Falco peeing in Fox's coffee mug, like that dude did in the movie to that officer! xDJewel Staite would be a great Fara Phoenix, or Katt Monroe, but she's not really "Krystal material", IMO
Eagle Kammback
Well, I haven't gotten a chance to play any SF games newer than 64, I don't have a gamecube, so that was just a shot in the dark
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
BillOriginal: A pilot in the Cornerian Air Force who’s usually found on Katina to defend a Cornerian base on that planet. Has been very good friends with Fox ever since their days in the Cornerian Military Academy. Comes off as sounding like a surfer mixed with a cowboy.Reinterpretation: James McCloud’s successor as Corneria’s Marshal Of The Air. Acts as a father figure to Fox now that James is gone. When Fox decided to join the freedom fighters Bill trained him in all manners of air combat. Most often staged on Katina as overseer of the project of building a Cornerian base there to help the resistance movement. Retains his surfer-like mannerisms from the original.PepperOriginal: Leader of the Cornerian Army, responsible for exiling Andross to Venom. Star Fox’s most frequent employer. Retires from active duty after the Aparoid Crisis. Slight British accent.Reinterpretation: Same, except Star Fox is part of the Cornerian Army, and speaks in a manner more like George S. Patton.KattOriginal: Falco’s girlfriend, and a lone fighter who aids Star Fox on Zoness and Macbeth. Still smitten with him since they got to know each other long ago. Wants to join Star Fox to be closer to Falco. Has a slight southern accent and pink fur.Reinterpretation: Same, but her accent is more African American and her fur has a tabby-like pattern. Her ship is also somewhat bulkier and more heavily armed. Her hair is now more of a strawberry blonde and done in dredlocks.AmandaOriginal: Slippy’s girlfriend on Aquas. Very insistent that he stay with her instead of fighting the Anglars. Has her own ship called the Tadpole which she uses to repel enemy forces on Aquas. Falco often teases Slippy about how he feels about her.Reinterpretation: Commander of the Cornerian Naval Forces. Still Slippy’s crush, but she usually she pays no mind to him. Tends to be very easy going despite the many stressful days for the Cornerian Army, and her relatives on Aquas are allegedly trapped in one of Andross’ P.O.W. camps. The Blue Marine, one of Star Fox’s most powerful vehicles, was originally from her division of the army.DashOriginal: Andross’ grandson who fights alongside Star Fox as part of the Cornerian Army despite his grandfather’s evil ways.Reinterpretation: Not present.LucyOriginal: Peppy’s daughter. Teaches an astrophysics class on Fichina. Has her own personal fighter called the Sky Bunny which she uses to help Star Fox repel Oikonny and his forces, and eventually help Peppy on Corneria.Reinterpretation: Not present. Mr. Krystal
If I were to reimagine the series, I would make all the characters younger (say twenties for most characters) with the "old" characters like Peppy and Pepper being in their 40's. I'd change the style to vector-baced cell-shading to give it a more hip vibe (think Jet Set Radio). The gameplay would be highly focused on racking up combos while performing very difficult high-speed maneuvers. The enemies, especially the bosses, would be fantastical. All characters would be made more extreme versions of their current selves:Peppy would be crotchety and yearn for the olden daysKrystal would be a full-fledge psychic with looks that killLeon would be a raving lunatic who has a morbid fascination with torture (like, more than he does now)etc.

That Guy
Hmm, who would I make different...Fox: He would probably be the same, but I think he would be a more romantic, dark heroFalco: He's fine the way he isSlippy: He'd be moslty the same, except not as timid.Peppy: although I think he is fine the way he is, I think It would be interesting to have him be like an old retired army vet.R.O.B.: He'd definatly act a lot more human (sort of in the way he was in SFC)Krystal: ...erm...I don't know. I think it would be nice to see her be a little more (romanticly) involved with fox and (not in a romantic way) with the other team members, rather than be a blank person. I don't know, maybe it just me...she strikes my as a sort blank blank person with little personalty for some odd reason...maybe it's that look on her face?Wolf: He'd be the same, though I'd like to see a more emotional side to him (perhaps due to a past truama). Like, in the game Idea I had, he saved someone from oblivion, because no one would have done that for him in his past. The only thing i'm not sure about this, is that it might too clichéd to have a dark character like him to have a past like that.Panther: Yeah, I'd keep him the same...the only difference is he'd shot down by women over and over again.Leon: I don't think there's anything I'd do to good 'ol leon here...he's always gonna be that have crazed lunatic that I adoreBill: Like to see him act a little more wild and daring.Katt: She really could be more clingy towards falco. she also needs to be more tomboyish. she was just way too bubbly in SF64 (if the SF designers really wanted someone to be bubbly, why not re-use Fay?)Amanda: ....mehDash: ...mehLucy: ...meh...although I do like the concept of vivian hare...but lucy hare?...meh...Andrew: I REALLY would love to see him as a half crazed, meniacal criminal...I think that would really suit his character.James: Now, I have an Idea for what might of happend to him. I've thought out this scenario where he was captured by andross, escaped, but was caught by the aparoids. They attempted to assimulate him, but he escaped that too, and he flew off to some kind of planet. Then, you know, fox would find him there, but he wouldn't know who he is. I think that would be neat, though It might put off a few people. as for personality, I see him as being very wise and kind.Pigma: wouldn't be better if that smacktard just died? I mean, jeez! he annoys me worse than slippy...well then again, I think It would be cool to see him as a cyborg, not unlike general grievous from star wars.Right, I think thats it...I'd have somthing to say about Fay and Miyu, but unfortunatly, they're both not in the official cannon

Well go ahead and burn it, what are you waiting? Can not you see the coolness of your ideas?... (Just kidding! )If I were to reinterpret Star Fox I would make Star Wolf more like they were in SF64, I mean, making them bad guys again. But for the sake of comedy, I would make a girl. Instead of pestering Krystal, (s)he would pester Fox and Falco, and this would make Krystal and Katt get pissed off at her. Of course no drama like in SFC but rather in-battle comments. ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
WolfOriginal: Leader of Star Wolf, a squadron hired by Andross to kill Star Fox. Becomes very obsessive with Fox and mostly wants to kill him, but occasionally teams up with him depending on the situation. Originally spoke with a British accent. Missing his left eye most likely from a fight with Fox.Reinterpretation: Much more menacing than the original. Vicious and intimidating general in Andross’ forces, forms Star Wolf for more effective battle strategies. Frequently intimidates or abuses his own troops into getting what he wants. Where’s a metal plate over the left half of his face because during the attack on Corneria Fox shot him in the eye. His claws are razor sharp. Pilots an Interceptor class Wolfen.LeonOriginal: Arrogant member of Star Wolf. Very sadistic, loves to kill people regardless of who they are. Strong rivalry with Falco, and may have a past connection with him. Originally had a slight British accent but overtime his voice became raspier. May secretly be not as villainous as some people think.Reinterpretation: Just as sadistic as the original, but now a corporal in Andross’ forces, and not nearly as evil was Wolf. Tortured Falco when he was younger to get information about his freedom fighter parents so he could hunt them down and have them killed. Skilled assassin, and equipped with a personal cloaking device to help him get the job done. More ordinary voice than the original and prone to laughing fits. Pilots a Standard class Wolfen.PigmaOriginal: A member of the original Star Fox team who betrayed his team for extra money, and later joined Star Wolf. Later fired from Star Wolf for his greed which disgusted even Wolf, and Wolf practically swore he would kill Pigma if he ever returned. His greed eventually brings an end to him after he is assimilated into the Aparoids and killed by Star Fox in an asteroid belt. Very large and fat.Reinterpretation: Just as greedy as the original, but more slimmed down and much more cowardly. A bumbling soldier in Andross’ army under Wolf’s command. Terrified of his superiors and often beaten by them for his failure, usually Wolf, or at least forced into tasks he doesn’t want to do like cleaning the bathrooms or garbage duty. He now has small tusks. Often goofs around with Oikonny in an Abbot and Costello fashion, which usually gets them in trouble with their superiors. Mostly cares about having a more powerful ship than even his superiors and hopes to usurp Wolf’s rank. Pilots an Assault class Wolfen.OikonnyOriginal: Andross’ whiny, scheming nephew, and a member of Star Wolf. A few years after Andross was killed, he rallied the remains of his uncles troops to launch an attack against Corneria hoping to bring it down as revenge. Very obsessive, obnoxious and a megalomaniac, but still a suck-up.Reinterpretation: More cowardly than the original, but just as scheming as he was before, and may even usurp Andross before anybody else does. Responsible for building most of Andross’ most devastating weapons and ships. Commands his own reserve of troops on a space station in the Sargasso region near Sector Y. Pilots an Assault class Wolfen.PantherOriginal: A new recruit to Star Wolf. A playboy and a show-off, occasionally flirts with Krystal, yet she most likely hates him completely. Fascinated with roses and often speaks in third person which annoys everyone around him. Nevertheless a gentleman and wouldn’t let anything hurt Krystal, making him the least evil member of Star Wolf.Reinterpretation: A mercenary hired by Andross to capture Fox, and bring to Venom so that he may be tortured to death. Now has a Spanish accent but doesn’t speak in third person. Leaves a rose as his “signature” wherever he gets the job done. Tries his best to make his work seem more artistic, retaining the show-off trait from the original. He is also Katt’s ex-boyfriend after she left him because he showed more interest in other girls.AndrossOriginal: A mad scientist exiled from Corneria to Venom for his dangerous experiments. Five years after exile he built his own army on Venom, allegedly killed James McCloud. Defeated on several occasions by Star Fox, even after hiring Star Wolf to fight against them. Eventually killed for good after he fights Fox on Sauria.Reinterpretation: Same but attacks Corneria directly instead of waiting for Star Fox to investigate him on Venom. Just as evil as the original, but it turns out he turned against Corneria because his family died accidentally in a Cornerian military experiment, so the rest of his life he sought vengeance. Manipulated the Venomian population into believing that his intentions were pure and that Corneria was to blame for their troubles, and turned them into a deadly military world, controlling most of the Lylat System. His speech mannerisms are now more akin to Darth Sidious and his voice resembles Megatron.
