What was your first reaction when you first saw Krystal?

Oh, please. If people can get on to Milky for posting the same thing all the time, then I can use the same logic to get upset about all the things people say about how much they love Krystal. There's very little variety there, is there? And yet I don't see anyone getting upset because someone said "When I first saw Krystal, I was really impressed by her personality and her past and she's soooo beautiful," do I?

This is a shameful double standard. If you have a problem with Milky, fine, but don't try to disguise it as exasperation because he's repeated himself. It's feeble, and it makes you look hypocritical.

I'm just playing with regards to the way AJC worded that post.  You, as well as Milky, know I love both of you. :P

I can't find fault with what Milky said about my post. I did say that I did like and even admire what personality she has shown, which I must admit isn't an exceptional amount. The thing I have mentioned to admiring most is her will to move on from her past, but Milky brings up a valid point by saying that she moved on almost too easily. Also, it's true that I had to look up a few starfox sites to find out more about Krystal, as the games don't really do much in that area. In the end, I can't find anything truly against what he said.

It's sad. Krystal could actually be a good character with just a LITTLE effort.

And you don't have to. He never challenges anyone liking Krystal, or tries to tell them they can't. As well he shouldn't, since there's no reason you shouldn't be able to like her. He just has to maintain the balance of power. If not for him, me, Robert, and Weltzin, the Krystal fanboys would overrun the board and begin an evil dictatorship. We definitely can't let that happen.

With a little, she could indeed be passable. She's a bit clichéd, but there's nothing wrong with a good stereotypical character every now and then.

@Xort & Milky, I'm gunna go and stand over your side of the line...

Also, it's true that I had to look up a few starfox sites to find out more about Krystal, as the games don't really do much in that area. In the end, I can't find anything truly against what he said.

In fact they say nothing at all, the only thing it says about Krystal ingame is that she's searching for the truth of her parents death... Cerinia actually isn't proper canon because it is NEVER mentioned in any of the actual games. In fact the only thing that we know about Krystal, is that she whines just like Peppy and Slippy when she's got and enemy on her tail; she gets MUCH happier when Fox saves her. She's fairly calm the rest of the time and loves to make Fox feel uncomfortable...

And then if you take the Command storyline into account (I really can't imagine many people on this thread doing that), She's a complete nutjob with serious separation anxiety and an inability to see anyone's point of view but herself... Like I said, given what people here have said about liking her personality, I can't image too many people take that seriously...

I do enjoy how calm she is in most cases. She does appear to come off as too calm for a distressing situation sometimes, like when she picked up that Sauria is in danger. Usually that takes an immense amount of willpower to remain calm during that kind of situation, but it almost seems as if the voice actors didn't quite get into the game. Just about everyone sounded calm more often than not, except for maybe Falco.

As far as Command goes, I can understand how Krystal would develop some severe separation anxiety. I'm not entirely happy that she seems to have completely given up on finding out about her past, which almost seems like bad gamewriting, but even if she managed to move on from that, losing what she could have perceived as the one final place where she felt like she belonged would hurt....a lot. She was a little more cold and distant afterwards. The endings I'm not going to get into, since they don't seem too relevant atm towards the current topic, and since they vary a lot from her going back to being cheerful and kind, all the way to what Kursed is.

Overall, I do like Krystal and her potential as a character.

This statement can be applied to every game in the StarFox series quite easily; *almost* no one is given what I'd deem excellent characterization.  The little characterization that is there is quite lackluster at best; look at Krystal, ALL WE KNOW IS THAT SHE IS BLUE, SMOKIN' HOT , and THAT HER HOME PLANET WAS APPARENTLY DOOMED IN SOME FASHION.  If Nintendo calls that background information, than I'd be afraid to see what is deemed personality.

It's not like they're incapable of doing it either; look at their larger franchises and ask why that same effort can't be carried over to other games.[/rant]

First reaction with Krystal.......not much if my mind serves me well; I first saw her in Assault, and at that time I only viewed her as a fellow wing-man...woman?  XD

My first reaction upon seeing her was one word: Exotic.

Her entire look gave a different slant to the series in that she (A) had blue fur (B) had a tribal appearance rather than scifi © was found on an entirely new planet and (D) had a mysterious past.

That said the second reaction to her is: Potential

Krystal, as seen in many fanart and fanfics, has the potential to be a very interesting character in the series as there is much to her story left unresolved. She has the potential of being a developed character if Nintendo so chooses. The problem is that she is still seen as an accessory character like Slippy. I hope to see this changed though.

I'm offended by your 2nd signature image there - even though that's technically an anthro in that image, not a furry.  Besides...nothing wrong with furries. :P

If you must have it though could you try and place it side by side with the other one?

That's an excellent way to describe her, because that is what she is. :)

Yiff is sexually appealing and internet drama crap, while troublesome at times, can be very entertaining if you are not directly involved and even if you are, it can still be fun to an extent. :)

Pretty sure someone did it for you then.

I didn't think much at first, I just remember thinking "shes cute" (my generic response to most female characters) and continued reading my magazine. It wasn't til years later when I was asked to draw her that I started noticing how strangely attractive she was.

It's not appealing when the yiff thing turns into a furry gay group.. :?  And also sometimes the drama can be down straight stupid.. :|  [i'm pretty shore someone did do that for me. >.> ]

DZ did it, then he made a topic about how signatures should look. And you can't avoid drama, it's going to happen when accosiated with furries. This doesn't make them bad people however, they do have a fair share of undesirables but many of them aren't different from the rest of us.

For straight individuals like myself, no it's not appealing.  However for homosexuals it is.  It all depends on your sexual orientation but we're getting off topic.

And also sometimes the drama can be down straight stupid.. :|

A lot of times it is but still, it can get so stupid that it can be entertaining.  It's all subjective. :)
