Gamestop ticks me off

This has never happened to me.  The employees either tell me their opinion on the game I'm going to buy or they don't say anything at all.

Agreed actually the employees are very freindly I've even talked to a few about some games I got.

I went to Gamestop today to pick up some extra Gamecube games.  I got an ok deal, with Starfox Assault, Adventures, and Super Smash Bros Melee all having manuals and art.  The stickers were still placed on the art, but I didn't really care at that point.  I made one BIG mistake though.  I didn't check the CD's after the guy put them in the cases.  Starfox Assault has a putrid build-up of some type of white substance on it.  Starfox Adventures has "Luisc" written on the disc in permanent marker.  Super Smash Bros Melee was ok, but it did have a small presence of that white substance like on Assault.  Just for reference, NEVER GO TO GAMESTOPS IN QUEENS, NY.  The employees are ok, but several of them were talking in a corner, and heavy swearing could be heard.

Maybe this is nothing to get mad about but....

A few months ago, I sold two GC games at Gamestop (or EB games. I forget). They were worth at LEAST an amount of $5 each, making me an estimated profit of $10. The games were "Crazy Taxi" and "SNK v.s. Capcom". I got not even $5.

That's pure insanity.  A game like that is worth more than $2.

I don't know if you still haven't realized but not everyone lives in the UK, never even heard of "Gamestation" or "Grainger".

Try reading the entire post, and by that, I mean all of the words.

If you are to dumb for that, then you deserve to be ripped off, but since I'm being nice.

There are alternatives! No one is forcing you to go to gamestop. Stop complaining and go elsewhere.

Second what Sabre said.

Boycotting companies one are unhappy with is simple the best way to get around this. I strongly doubt this so-called Gamestop has full monopoly on game story in the US. And when even I, who live a couple of hours drive from the closest GAME store, can order games on the internet and have them delivered to my door, there is no excecuse for buying at a place one is unsatisfied with.

Gamestop used to be good at one time, at least where I live it used to be good, but it's gone downhill, mostly....

I haven't had too much problems with Gamestop, I've bought Adventures, NFS Underground 2, and Red Faction 2 there, all of them worked fine, though Red Faction 2 had some scratches on the front of the disc, though the business end of it was jut fine.  Though I sold like 7 games to them and made 11 dollars. The main complaint is that instead of giving me cash, they put it on a dumb card, I wanted to use that money to buy soda.

Also, I was going to buy a used wired 360 controller there, thinking it would be cheep, they had no used 360 wired controllers, not even new ones, so I bought a Madcatz 360 controller at Wal-Mart for 25 dollars, which sucks too, but has better stock than Gamestop.

What I find funny is that anyone even plays console games anymore.

"You mean you have to use your hands!?  That's like a baby's toy!"

what I find disturbing is the fact that you think we can all purchase up to date Pcs/Macs or PCs/Macs capable of running the new PC games.

hmm how bad is gamestop? i heard alot of things about them!

Depends on your management and the people who sell their games there.

It can be good with proper employees and if they are supplied with the best stuff from people selling them stuff.

Oh, I misunderstood you, I thought you were talking about Virtual Console Games versus putting a Game Disk or Cartridge into a console....oops.  :hehe:

Gamestop isn't that bad to be truthfully honest.  However I will admit that their stores usually are somewhat..cluttered, making it occasionally a tedious task to find what game you want.  their help is on an average level though, so its not really an issue.  People have their own opinions; but this is just mine - I tend to prefer Best Buy for the most part.
