Alternate Advent: Mirror Crisis

Minato

Recommended Posts

Finally, approved and ready to go. :3

There is a theory that there may very well be a twin of you somewhere out there in the world. Or universe, if you really want to think that big. As it turns out, the lot you're about to hear about aren't exactly twins, but they're pretty close.

20XX, Earth.

Well, that's an odd place for a Star Fox RP to take place, isn't it?

There is a group of students who all have striking similarities to the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams, in appearance and sharing some personality traits with them. Life is rather normal for them. Sure, they all have strange natural hair colors, but otherwise they fit right in.

Things changed one fateful day in Winter. There was an attack by a bunch of sentient apes armed with incredibly advanced technology, with one device known as the Dimension Slicer. The group just happened to get pulled into a dimensional slice and wound up on Corneria during a similar attack.

Our heroes may not know how to fly Arwings, but they all have their specialties. Unfortunately, after their arrival, things will start going a lot worse. Not just for them, but for the whole Lylat system.

---

Here's the request thread: http://forums.starfox-online.net/index.php?topic=5941.0 You can see characters and discussion here for now, I intend to make another thread to put 'em all in. Hopefully everyone remembers who they're playing.

So, I was gonna start this off before the Dimensional Slicer. Everyone OK with that? :3

(So we're just starting living our ordinary lives? Sounds good to me.)

The crowd was out after blood. The most of them cheered for him, screaming his name. "NATHAN! NATHAN! NATHAN!"

On the other side of the circle created by the crowd stood another boy. Like Nathan, he was also of tough build, and the bent nose told the tale that this one was no stranger to fighting either.

His name was Crunch, if Nathan remembered correctly. He was quite high up in the hiarchy of the street fighters. But still nothing more than a stepping stone to the top.

Nathan let his jacket drop down onto the ground, where it was picked up by some of the bystanders and taken out of the way. He needed to be mobile. Crunch had a repultation for a boneshattering right. If he got in a couple of hits, it would drain Nathan easily, and maybe even make him loose the fight.

While Crunch walked around impatiently, shouting to the crowd, rousing them even further, Nathan stood completely still, waiting for his opponent to make the first move. It was on purpose he did it that way. He'd gained a rep as a cold fighter, who bided his time untill the opponent did a mistake, only to finish him of quick and brutal.

That repultation was an advantage. Keept the other guy nervous.

Without warning, Crunch charged at him, swinging his right fist into a hard jab. Wolf brough up his hands and let the attack slide along his elbow and Crunch charge past him. He quickly sent a kick to the back of Crunch knees, bringing him down on his knees.

Nahtan started circling him slowly as he got up again. This was going to be easier than he had first tought.

Crunch got on his feet again, attacking in a wild flurry of jabs and crosses, each of which Nathan evaded or deflected seemingly without breaking a sweat. The angry expression on Crunch's face changed into fear as he realised he was outmatched.

Then it was Nathans turn to strike. His right fist exploded into the face of his opponent. One time, two times, three times... Before an uppercut into his gut forced him down on his knees again.

Crunch coughed heavily, blood dripping from the crushed nose. "Okay dude." He stuttered. "You win."

Nathan helped him onto his feet and sent him out of the circle, to the guys standing ready with the medisine box.

All of the crowd was cheering for him now. Nathan lifted a clenched fist into the air, accepting their praise.

His jacket was thrown to him again, and he put it on. "Same time next saturday?" He asked one of the organisators. To which he only nodded in reply.

Then, the chanting of the crowd was drowned out by the sound of sirenes. Crap, cops! Someone had squealed about the match.

The authorites didn't look lightly upon illegal street fighting. Nathan left the location and started running down the backstreets. He then remembered he had an appointment with his classmates in five minutes, and quickly decided that was the next thing he would do.

Yamato was sitting in his chair, comfortably,

thinking about the events that bought him up

to this moment... But not before long, the phone

started to ring: "Hello?" He said, in a quiet voice.

"Hello, this is officer Tradovsky. I just wanted to

inform you that your solicitude for a reassigment

has been accepted." Yamato was now exited.

For months he had been in retirement, but now he

was really tired of it. He was going to say something

but the officer continued: "You are ordered to meet

with me at 21:50 PM. Failure to do so will cause your

solicitude to be nullified, and futher ones, rejected".

Yamato was there since 19:00 PM exactly, but the

officer would arrive later, at the specified time.

"Good to see you again." Said Tradovski.

"Good to be in action again." Replied Yamato.

"Well, about that, do not be so fast. While my -

or should I say our - superiors agreed to let you

in the army again, they want you to do something

for them". He paused, then continued before Yamato

could ask 'what was it': "They want you to command the

Carrier Impudence." Yamato replied: "I will do it, but actually

I wanto to..." He was interrupted by Tradovsky: "I know, I know.

You want to fly again. They said that was ok, but first you

must command the Impudence."

Yamato was not sure about this. It seemed like a good opportunity,

but what he really wanted was to fly again. With some doubts, he

accepted. "Good." Said Tradovsky. "Enjoy your last night at home;

from tomorrow at 7:15 AM on, you will be commanding that Carrier".

He said, and left in silence with his bodyguards.

Yamato was left alone with his thoughts.

"Crap!" Reesa snapped as she got her fingers caught again. She grabbed a clean white rag to soak up the blood from her newly peeled fingers. Today was just not her day. Her bike had been acting up recently, not unusual since it was a chop job she had put together herself. Normally she didn't bother with repairs on her own machine unless she needed cash and was racing it, or unless it stopped all together, but the night before she had been pulled over by the cops, and they'd warned her that they could pull her plates right there for operating an unsafe machine. So she had it at the shop, and was working on it just inside, with the huge bay door open to let in the light from the setting sun, and the peppery summer air.

She had become so absorbed in her work, she didn't notice what time it was, and when her boss came around at closing time to lock up, she was still sitting there, covered in grease and muttering quietly to herself.

"I hope you got that other job done before you started on that monstrosity. You know, the one you actually get paid for?"

Reesa rolled her eyes. "You know it's done, Dan. I did everything on the list, plus i figured out why it was whining like that when you started her up, which you've been trying to fix for a week and a half."

Dan's eyebrows raised. "Yeah? How'd'you figure you did that?"

Reesa grinned at him. "Wouldn't you like to know." She pressed the button that started the chain pulley to close the bay door and went to wash her hands of as much of the grease as she could. Dan just laughed and picked up Reesa's blue leather jacket, holding it out to her when she returned, slightly cleaner than before.

"Have a good night, Reese. I'll see you tuesday afternoon."

Reesa took the coat, putting in on thoughtfully. Dan watched her hands slip unconciously into all the theif's pockets on the inside of the coat, checking to make sure everything that had been in them when she'd left it that morning was still there now.

"I was thinking I'd come back in on Monday. Just for a bit, ya know?"

Dan's brow furrowed. "Reese, you've got school."

"Ah, whatever, I've got math in the afternoon on monday. Who needs math anyways."

"Everybody, and besides, you said they'd kick you out if you skipped anymore. You promised me you'd get your diploma, kid!"

"Meh, it's just a piece of paper."

"Heh, some days i wonder why I keep a kid as dumb as you around. If i see you anywhere near here monday, I'll kick your ass."

"Alright, alright, you're such a hardass." Without saying goodbye, she slipped out the side door and into the twilight. She had been considering taking the bus home, but now she decided it was a good night to take a walk on the bad side of town. She'd heard there was a street fight going on. Sounded like it was going to be good, too, some guy named Nathan...

Chris was already at the place they were supposed to meet, sitting on a bench with her arms crossed. Her day certainly hadn't been as interesting as her friends had been thus far, but she didn't mind. They who are wise do not go seeking trouble, one of the martial arts teachers had told the class. So she simply didn't go out looking for things to do all that often.

"... I wonder if Lucia's going to be late again. She did say she was getting somewhere with her invention, and that usually means an all-nighter."

Which was true, in fact. Lucia was just now waking up at her house, rubbing her eyes groggily. "... ah... oh! It's time to... no, it can't be that time already! How long did I sleep?!" She hopped out of bed, got dressed and got on her bike, which was pretty much the only thing she owned that she DIDN'T modify in some way.

"Gotta hurrrrrry!"

(Actually, Reesa didn't get an avatar made. You might want to check in on that Minato.)

Nathan rounded a corner, having slowed down to a more casual pace now that he was sure the police wasn't following him. Another person coming the other way caught his attention. A tall, lanky girl with spiky blue hair.

Their eyes meet for a split second as they passed each other. She sure had an icy look in her eyes, almost as if they pierced straight trough him like a dagger.

Faris had been so excited the other night he deciede to wake up early and tell his girlfriend chris all about it. Compared to Faris Chris was 7 years younger than him and yet she still attracted the young lad. He soon pulled up at the Curb next to  the bench Chris was sitting at in his 77 Red Corvette. Getting out he rushed to Chris "I'm glad I found you I'm sure I told you over the phone  ,but it just seems better if I tell you in person. I Finally Got assigned to a Carrier now I can actually use some ordanace!"

(I figured with the tought of giving Nathan another car anyway, so no problem.

Doubt Fox/Faris(That's actually the name of a foul-tasting mineral water here) would drive a C3 Corvette tough. He's more of a Mustang guy I'd suspect.)

(wow, she doesn't have an avatar, does she. Way for you to remember that and not me...)

Freya had wandered the streets under the last tendrils of sun, slowly making her way towards where she knew the fight would be. She took as many back alleys and side streets as she could. She knew how risky that was, but somehow, that was part of the fun.

It was very dark by the time she found herself on the street she knew would take her too the brawl. All the buildings on the main street had either been abandoned or long since closed for the night, so the only light came from the yellowed bulbs in the street lamps over head. Even less of that light filtered into her current location.

She hadn't really been focussed on her surroundings, so the sound of purposeful footfalls caused her head to snap up. Walking towards her was a very tall, very well built man. He didn't seem to really register her, so she doubted she would have any trouble. As they got closer, she non-chalantly looked him over. Evidently he'd done the same, because for a moment their eyes met. The look on his face was cold, and she did her best to return it. He continued past her, but she stopped and turned. His knuckles told her where he had been that night.

"Guess I missed all the fun, huh?"

Nathan haulted, letting the girl catch up with him before he continued walking. "Yeah. You did." He answered. "I won, and then the cops showed up and ruined the following matches."

He shrugged his broad shoulders. "Shit happens. But one shouldn't let that stop you."

He tought he remebered this girl from somewhere, just not where. Then it struck him she worked at Dan's garage, where many of the members of his dads biker gang used to go to get their rides fixed. He had visited it himself on a couple of ocasions, and tought he had spotted her there from time to time.

He had never talked to her however. Simply hadn't been an opportunity for that since he had no bike himself. All the money he had won fighting had gone into getting his drivers license, and the car he wanted.

"Ah, that sucks. I don't wanna' go home yet..." Her brow furrowed, and a look of intense displeasure crossed her features, as if something was waiting for her there. It held for a couple of seconds, then it was gone, replaced by an impish grin as she skipped up next to him. "So what did Crunch look like when you were finished with him? I hope you beat the crap out of him, someone needed to beat the crap out of that jerk."

Yamato spent most of night in a hotel close to the docks.

He could barely sleep, however; the exitement of going into

action again was too much. After all, once he was in command

of the carrier, things would get done his way. After all

he is sure to have a competent crew, so maybe he could

take an aircraft every now and then. Or so he hoped.

"Let's just say his nose is straighter now than when we started." Nathan mumbled as they keept walking trough the dark alleys. After a few seconds he broke the silence again. "Reesa, isn't that your name? I'm going to meet some of my buddies. You know, just hang out and chill. You'd like to come with us?"

"Reesa, isn't that your name? I'm going to meet some of my buddies. You know, just hang out and chill. You'd like to come with us?"

(Hey guys just a warning I'm going to be gone April 14-17 so yea leave me an in when I get back XD)

He knows my name "Hmn, dunno' if that's cool or creepy," she finished her sentence out loud, causing Nathan to stare at her out of the corner of his eye, somewhat confused. She looked him over again, this time commiting him to memory to think about it later. She was fairly certain that she wasn't in any immediate danger, the vibe she was getting off of him was good, so she wasn't concerned about it.

"Sweet $h|t," she finally decided "sounds cool, and I've got nothing better to do. But just remember," She spun in front of him, making him halt to avoid crashing into her. She was standing tall, her shoulders thown back, "any shit goes down, and you know what I mean, you've got your choice; switchblade or mace." The threat wasn't nessesary, at least in her mind, but she wanted to judge his reaction. It was almost comical, the slight figure threatening the man that had not long before sent a giant to his knees. Nathan didn't get a chance to reply, before she flash another smile, interlaced her fingers behind her head, and fell into step next to him again. She took a few seconds to wonder how long before he thought she was crazy like everybody else did. Hell, he might already...

"So where'd you learn to fight?"

Nathan was thrown off a bit by her behaviour, only to be even more stumped when she laughed off the threat she had come with. She certainly had an unusual personality. Gutsy, confident and brash, but also likeable in some strange way.

"So where'd you learn to fight?"

Nathan waited a moment or two, just to check out if she would suddenly change her mind again, and truly reveal she was mental, before he answered. "My old man runs a biker gang, The Black Angels, and some of those guys tought me a few moves. The rest I picked up as I started to get into street fighting. Taking in how the others fought, their style, their moves, and making it my own."

It was getting quite chilly now as the sun started to set. Nathan packed his jacket tighter around himself, clouds of mist appearing in front of him for every breath he let out.

Then, the landscape suddenly changed as they left the backstreets and came out into the open. Further down the street Nathan spotted Chris sitting on a bench where the gang had egreed on meeting. Both he and Reesa started heading that way.

(Lol mental, I thought it said metal for a second, and I had no idea what you meant XD)

He seemed a little off balance from her threat, which is where she liked everyone to be in her presence, but the fact that he didn't reply to it meant that he wasn't easy to get a rise out of.

A level-head, I approve.

She listened as he spoke of his fighting experience. "Nice, nice. I was in self defence courses once. Judo, to be precise. But it was awhile ago, before I had to... move. Anyways I kinda dropped it. Didn't have time. What with school and work and troublemaking, leaves your schedule pretty booked up, ya know? Anyways, I remember the Black Angels coming into the shop a couple of times. I wondered why Dan was acting all antsy and wouldn't let me work on their bikes. Tragic 'cuz those things were poison..." she realized that she was starting to ramble, and closed her mouth.

It was chilly, and the leather jacket didn't do much to insulate her. She'd shivered and wished she'd brought along a hoodie, but she hadn't been expecting to be out at all, much less so late. She noticed up ahead a girl and a boy loitering around a bench. She glanced at Nathan, studying his reaction. It seemed a positive one, so she assumed these were the the friends she'd been invited to hang out with.

(After watching Metalocalypse, one will realize "metal" works as an adjective as well. I meant "mental" tough.

Chris is a girl btw, Krystals doupleganger. I'll wait for Minato to make a reply before I do my next move.)
