Puff, if you can't fill the universe with enough PAPER to write a googolplex, you're certainly not going to fill it with a googolplex of bricks. ^_^

let me correct your statement.... I can't fill the KNOWN universe with bricks. But thats why I am going to use the space from the unknown universe! Bwahahaha!

I will now mathematically prove that you cannot fit a googolplex of bricks into the space of the known universe.  It seems pointless since we already know that you cannot fit a googolplex in font size 1 digits on paper in the space of the known universe, but I love blowing people's minds anyway. :falco:

First, we need the dimensions of the standard brick.  8 in. x 4 in. x 2.25 in. = 72 in3.

Now, we need to find the ratio of the volume of the brick to the volume of one font size 1 digit on paper.

We know that 4.0 x 1090 in3 of paper is required to type a googolplex at font size 1 from the earlier computation.

1 googolplex digits / 4.0 x 1090 in3 = 2.5 billion digits per cubic inch.  This amounts to one digit equaling one-2.5 billionths of a cubic inch in volume, or 4.0 x 10-10 in3.

Now for the ratio.  72 in3 (brick) / 4.0 x 10-10 in3 (digit) = 1.8 x 1010.  So the brick is about 18 billion times bigger than the digit.

Since we now know the ratio, we can multiply the final volume of the printed googolplex by the same factor to get the volume of a googolplex of bricks.  From the earlier computation, the volume of a printed googolplex at font size 1 is 8.0 x 1037 cubic light years.

8.0 x 1037 ly3 x 1.8 x 1010 = 1.4 x 1048 ly3.  The volume of a googolplex of bricks.

The dimensions of this cube equal the cubed root of the volume, so each side measures 1.1 x 1016 ly, or 11 QUADRILLION light years.

So, how many known universes are we going to need to store all of these bricks?  From the last computation, the known universe has an estimated volume of 1.8 x 1031 ly3, assuming that the Earth is in the center and the farthest object is 13 billion light years away.

1.4 x 1048 ly3 / 1.8 x 1031 ly3 = 77,777,777,777,777,778.  Close to 78 QUADRILLION known universes of bricks.

Start bricking.  ^_^
