Opinions on Mature Subjects

Alright, don't make it age restricted, however, keep the invitation idea open. If we let younger members in them, we need to be sure their parents won't go killing spree if they come up with weird ideas that someone posted here.

I think #2 would be cool. Maybe 1. But 3...nah. We don't need nude art here. In my opinion, it kind of makes us look bad. Just my thoughts :)

Ok, putting the pornographic crap aside, this 'new board' will be souly about Mature content -such as blood, gore, cussing?

It wouldn't bother me, but I could see this leading to flamewars and trolling, and overflowing to other boards. And as for the art becoming porn, most likely to happen unless it was restricted to artistic nudity, instead of full on "tentacle rape" art.

Personally, I like this community just fine the way it is, and say it isn't worth the potential risk.

Well, this suggestion might lead to too much work, but I dunno if it will - Why not just try it out for a few weeks/months or so and see what comes out of it. If the result is negative, then of course, we need some fixing up to do. If results are a success, then we can keep it as it is and possibly add on 'features' to it.

As of my opinion, I think strict rules should be applied and if let's just say for a sake of an example, someone posts a VERY inappropriate picture, it will result in an immediate ban or however you wish to deal with the person. But on the downside, this may lead to the need of more mods.

^this

But, as a community expands, so do the mods

Personally, I like the idea as threads tend to get political, sexual ect.

There's no way to say this without sounding like a racist, so I'll just say it. My worry is that it will be american 'mature', which is basicly tits. I've got wrong in the past for posting acceptable (in britain) images that were pulled down because they show a bit of cleavage or have a show a bit of bum whatever. Also, as what I assume the reason for none polatics stuff is, it all breaks down into "USA! USA! We're Number 1!" vs "American is teh suk"

For me, it's all about expanding off topic, as this is the only board I like that has kept it's off topic section.

Now that's why we will put some decent rules (at least, if we stay with the first 2 ideas), it's going to be a more mature subforum for discussions and stuff like that. If someone just simply posts boobs without a valid reason, then said person will be kicked out from the forum.

This, of course, is a delicate subject, if we do implement these forums, then we are going to be REALLY picky with the people that wants to be in, to tell the truth, if I had to choose, I'd say less than half of the community will be allowed to browse those subforums, based on what I have seen around, which is why I wonder if this is really a good idea, people that don't get in will complain and that might turn the community apart

Alright, just reached here.

I'm ambivalent about #1 and #2, as I'd really never given them much thought.

As for #3, sure, since it would still require all postings to be in good taste.  I know of all sorts of beautiful artwork that is well done, as well as some light sexual situations that are sentimental rather than pornographic.  Of course, most of these are of Wolf, Fox or Falco.  (Fox X Falco already seems to be the most popularly-drawn couple in the Japanese fandom, and that's even when it's worksafe (I posted some of it in the fanart board!).  And Wolf seems to hook up with just about anyone male.)  So as long as it doesn't get too messy, I know of plenty of art out there that would meet a "mature" rating.

As I understand it, NSFW is still in good taste, but inherently not safe for work.  Though as we age, many aspects of our own lives, even spoken about with other people, may not be considered safe in a school or business environment, but we don't really always need them to be if they're discussed in a casual environment.  DZComposer has already laid out what the rules would be.

Here's what it is looking like so far:

NSFW may not happen. People seem weary of the idea.

Let me clarify it:

No porn. Implied sex would possibly be tolerated, but view of an erect phallus or penetration of any kind would definitely be considered porn.

There seems to be more acceptance of the other 2 ideas. They will be opt-in boards, which also means anyone who causes trouble in them can get kicked out of them.

One of the rules for The Pub would be "Use logic, not insults" and another one would be "What happens in The Pub stays in The Pub." Also, being the political junkie that I am, I would probably be spending a lot of time in The Pub, so anyone who starts trouble wouldn't get away with it. I still need to think a bit about the handling of religion. I don't want any "you need Jesus/Allah/Buddha/Etc." posts on the one hand, but on the other hand the debate over whether or not a god exists is actually a pretty interesting philosophical debate, but also could come off as a "you need Jesus" type post to a theist from an atheist.

I do not mind #1... In fact, maybe I like it.

I have been studiying the subject of politics/economic

systems for some time... Well, I think I kind of like it.

#2... Could be... Regulations would be required, however.

#3... Not a good idea at all.

BUT, maybe Mr. K is right.

This is a Forum for Star Fox, after all.

Adding some areas for non-starfox talk

would require a bending of certain rules,

which would affect the entire forum overall.

This is an example of probably the raciest thing I would think of posting.

http://wolfoxokamichan.deviantart.com/art/Dreamy-Wolf-140774242 (NSFW, but not porn)

And it's absolutely beautiful, no?  A timeless approach to muscle and frame.  And to see someone sleeping - such a peaceful moment, where one's expressions revert to their most natural, unbeguiling state.  The best part is, I could totally imagine Wolf really being like this. XD
