New staff position: Second RP mod. Inquire within.

i'll stay out of being a mod.

Being a mod requires alot of maturity and respancbilty.

Speaking from experience not only that but when you become a mod, and possibility later, an admin, you're priorities are different as you actually have a "job" to do and may not be able to be the same person you once were (carefree with posts for example).  On the other hand I've known a few people in the past who, shortly after they became mods, became more rigid, "by the book", and even hardasses when it came to following the rules and thus experienced a drop in popularity and in some cases being fired

It's all about trying to be as fair, balanced, and about all unbiased ESPECIALLY in disputes between members that might not always involve locking a topic at the first hint of trouble. Every mod is different, some lock topics when the slightest rule is broken and discipline members according when they may not even have to (being more rigid) while others are more lax when it comes to the rules and prefer to issue warnings in general or to specific members in posts in the hope of the topic getting back on track and drama free without needing to lock it.

Of course being mature, intelligent, logical are all admirable qualities in any mod.

I'll tell you that knowing that fact, and accepting you're not ready for everything, is a sign that you have become more mature and responsible.

Being realistic with your own abilities and knowing where you're currently at mentality is important as well.
