My eye color is somewhat strange in that I have two of the same color in each eye.  The outline of pupils are a lime or lemon green and on the rest is like a deep blue, like tyler's but a tad brighter.

I wear contact lenses, 'cause I'm legally blind.

I'll NEVER go back to eyeglasses, I'd rather gouge out my eyes with a fiery hot poker than go back to wearing glasses.

Your icon is wearing shades. XD Shades can be made for prescription eyesight correction purposes. :3

Oooo, exotic. :3 That would make an interesting extreme-close-up photograph.

Amber/brown. Pretty stupid combination.

Yay, we found someone with amber eyes! :3 One of my cats had amber eyes, but I didn't know until several weeks ago that it was even possible for people to have them.  It's a fascinating hue.

I wish my eyes were fire red, glowing, and had vertical cat-like pupils, and had super enhanced vision, and could see in the dark.

I love crimson eyes, like Peppy's. :3 People tell me that someone with red eyes would look evil, but I don't think so at all. X3 I wish the world had more natural red non-albino eyes.

That would be cool to have grey eyes :)

My eye.  It might help to zoom in with Ctrl + to see the hues.  Sorry I don't have a higher resolution sample.

My character always wears glasses. :3 So do I - I have nearsightedness that keeps sliding even as old as I am. X3 I need new glasses soon...I hope I can get titanium frames this time.

My eye color is the same as Krystal's!

I just started wearing glasses, but I probably needed them for a long time now.  I had it a little backwards, when I had trouble seeing the TV, I got a bigger TV.

I felt like an idiot for waiting so long to get glasses when the eye doctor ends the appointment with, "That's what the world is supposed to look like."

My bad!

 I can't wear sunglasses of any kind indoors, I'd look like Jack Nicholson, or a jerk, 'cause those are the only kinda people who wear sunglasses indoors, them or people who are blind or nearly blind, they are exempt from being ridiculed for the "wearing sunglasses indoors faux paus" (they always have a red and white cane and/or a seeing eye dog along with those sunglasses).  You just don't wear sunglasses indoors anymore unless you're blind or nearly blind, it's like wearing a suit with a digital watch, or carrying an umbrella while wearing a uniform of any kind.  :hehe:

Oh, I hadn't considered that. X3 Since you have darker-colored eyes than me, you probably can see fine in a brightly-lit environment without shades.  With me, grey eyes have even less melanin in them than blue eyes, and they're pretty sensitive to bright lights, including sunlight and incandescent bulbs.  If there is lighting that is too harsh, I'll wear shades even indoors.  Funny thing is, even though I grew up near the equator, it was also a very rainy climate, and there wasn't as much sunshine as there is here in the United States - since it was so rainy, the skies were usually overcast, and everything was more often bathed in a soothing soft light rather than direct sunlight.  To this day, I prefer rainy and overcast days or sunny/cloudless ones. X3 And the grey of overcast skies is one of my three favorite colors (along with emerald green and chocolate brown).

I'm sorry, Dermot, I didn't mean to snap at you,

I'm just in a bad mood, last weekend was total hell for me.

Back OT, I wish my eyes were silver...sometimes

Looking like Jack Nicholson wouldn't be to bad! He's a great actor you know. At least I think he is.

I wear shades quite often when I drive. Especially now when there's still a lot of snow around, sending sun reflections flying everytwhere.

Nah, I'm fine.  Didn't even realize you were snapping until now. :3 It can be rather stuck-up to wear shades indoors, but there are times when it's necessary.

And if your eyes were silver, you really might need those shades indoors sometimes. :3 Like I said, grey eyes have even less melanin than blue eyes, which already have so little melanin as it is.  That doesn't guarantee I have good night vision (for example if I'm not eating enough vitamin A), but it does mean that bright lights can be painful, even when your eyes are closed sometimes (eyelids are translucent skin, afterall).  Most of the people with naturally grey eyes live along the Baltic Sea shore (Scandinavia, Finland, Baltic states, etc.), where the sun is at such an angle year-round anyway (and consequently all the more filtered by having to travel through more of the earth's atmosphere to reach the ground).

I'm sure Asper Sarnoff here could vouch for the accuracy of what I just said. X3

Oh, I forgot about that...  Though there are fewer daylight hours in Scandinavia during winter, it must be hell at times when there is so much snow with such a high albedo. X3

Well, looking like Jack Nicholson doesn't make you Jack Nicholson, tho ;)

(Sorry to spit hairs xD)

I'm from SoCal, and they're VERY persnickity about stuff like that (especially in my [whitebread] neighborhood, they still give you flak for wearing bright colors after labor day...xD)

Also, it's okay to wear sunglasses indoors if you're

-taking medication that makes you sensitive to bright light

-hiding hangover eyes

-hiding a bruise or shiner

-in a place with skylights or large plate glass windows, and the bright sunlight is shining through very intensely

Oh, okay, glad we're good!

uh oh, really?  well, I guess I'll keep my golden browns, and get some laser eye surgery to fix my blindness...

That just made me think of how Tim Burton parodied uptight suburban southern California towns (like his native Burbank) in his film Edward Scissorhands. :P

Anyway, grey eyes are totally manageable. :3 It's not like they're a disease or something - just a totally natural different pigment and different light scattering than other eye colors, and they just happen to be a rare color.  You just prepare sensibly. :3 For instance, I don't keep my bedroom's overhead lights on that often, and I keep my blinds shut during bright sunshine hours (especially when the sun's at an angle where it comes right through the window).  And all the light bulbs in my room are fluorescent bulbs - gentler and longer-lasting and more energy-efficient. :3

Yes I can. I for one have quite sensitive eyes when it comes to bright light, but that's a price I consider worth paying due to the impressive night visions I'm blessed with. I love sneaking around in dark rooms, when everyone else is having trouble getting adjusted to the dark, scaring the crap out of everybody.

It is. Especially around Easter one have to be carefull not to get snow-blind.

I did have laser surgery, and I couldn't have been happier with the result.

However, I'm not used to getting stuff in my eyes, having never used contact lenses and steering away from eye-drops, so I had a lot of issues with it when they placed that machine straight into my eye.

I never knew about eye surgery like that :o

I remember my uncle has a chunk of metal lodged in his eye, he never realized that, how do you manage that? :o
