I'm going to bet $100 that there WILL be a new Mario game and leave Star Fox once again.

Any objections??

here is what you have to look at, Mario, POKeMON, Zelda, all have something in common.....THEY ALL HAVE STORY LINES THAT FOLLOW THE SAME BASIC TRACK......Star Fox on the other hand, each have a different story line and guess you can put in game play, i dont think they are overshadowing Star Fox!!

Maybe you're right...

Maybe the console war is the reason why we might never get to see any more Star Fox ames but insted Mario, Zelda and pokemon.

As Kid_Cortet pointed out that Mario, Zelda and Pokemon INDEED have the same storyline over and over which people sadly might not understand that no matter how many times Bowser gets killed, he'll come back and as for pokemon, you just catch all pokemon and thats it, you're a pokemon master, no unlockables, no secrets NOTHING!!!!!

I'm just a little bit surprised that nobody wants a F-Zero game. SEGA and Nintendo should team up together like they did in GX.

Well it's obvious that the series as of right now is overshadowed by Mario and to a lesser extent Zelda and Metroid. I hope all these recent Starfox articles are true and they are making a new one now.

i think the other thing is the characters are so recognizable it aint even funny, Mario and Link have been around since the birth of Nintendo, and Pokemon just rapidly grew. There are times i try talking to people about Star Fox, and they're like, "Huh" or "Oh yeah, i've heard about it." as i sit there like "WTF, are you nuts."

I think the other main issue, is that Star Fox is a "Time line" game as i like to call them, meaning each game is set "x" amount of years after the previous game.

Since Fox started off as what? 17 when the 64 game came out, add the 8 years for Adventures, making him 25, then you add the next two years for Assault, making him 27+ (rough estimate) the older they make him, itll be harder to keep the young action going, if they keep making games, Marcus may just well be the next leader of Star Fox since his father will eventually be too old for the thrill (Grant it that the whole Marcus thing kicks off later on)

Same thing with Banjo-Kazooie, the second games was "based" two years after the first.

Mario has never (As far as I know) followed a time line

Zelda did it twice (Not meaning in game time but game to game) with Majoras mask and Wind Waker. A lot of people were disapointed with both titles for one reason or another because of the "Time-line" factor...

Pokemon is completely free of this since each game that has come out has had a totally new set of characters as the heros (I understand Gold, Silver, and Crystal series are based three years after Red, Blue, and Yellow, BUT, it was not the same main character!!!!! pokemon still lost a lot of fans over the new generation due to the time line)

OK....im done ranting :P

(And you can just call me "Kid" im sure there are no others with the first name lol)

lol..we should all get together and make our own story board...something realistic (in a Star Fox kinda way) and make our own ending....hell...maybe even going off some of the Command endings lol

I'm in!!!

But...I was thinking more which endings on Command would truely be cannon for the next SF game. (I already started mine)

Go ahead and start a topic, just don't put it in the wrong place

my suggestion,

Dash makes a choice (when Dash becomes like his grandpappy)

Fox and Krystal (the team goes to Aquas for Slippy and Amandas' wedding (she joins the team, but not as a pilot)

If you think about it "Good bye Fox" could be slightly in part lol (have our two favorite vulpins have Marcus, but the fight begins when he is still young) this makes it where Fox might show emotion :P

thats just what i put together....others may have better (probably will) ideas lol

hm, dash makes a choice is a good start because it leaves to do anything with fox and krystal we want. but lets put james in it alive. possibly some what agaist fox. like he is posesed or was apparioded

You just took my idea. Except I was going to say that James was included alive, not possed or aparoided.

the bit about James i believe was done before in an really old Sonic cartoon, Eggman took sonics father and made him a badnick (like an earlier version of Metal Sonic) and pitted him against his son. lol

but still....a good idea to bring him back....im some way...maybe even as a messanger of something to come (old recording maybe lol)

Let's get back on track here; this thread is becoming a lot like the next Star Fox topic.

The typical equation for Nintendo when it comes to producing games used to be

one or two major titles per franchise per console, as far as I can tell.

Nintendo 64:

Super Mario 64

LoZ:  Ocarina of Time, LoZ:  Majora's Mask

Star Fox 64

Nintendo Gamecube:

Super Mario Sunshine

LoZ:  Windwaker

Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault

Nintendo Wii:

Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2

LoZ:  Twilight Princess, (another LoZ in development)

(no Star Fox games yet)

At this point, a Star Fox title for the Wii is due, but it doesn't appear

to be overshadowed by the others, since the pattern is about average.

However, include all of the other minor console releases and

handheld titles for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS,

and you definitely have bias toward the Mario and Zelda franchises.

I think a major cause for this depends on what people want.

In Mario's case, he has pretty much done everything known to man (almost)

in his hundreds of games.

In Zelda's case, the objective has remained quite a bit more straightforward,

But the franchise has still been able to try new things with much success.

However, in the case of Star Fox, there isn't too much flexibility in gameplay,

relatively speaking, because people for the most part want to stick with the

original formula of aerial and vehicular combat.  Sure, the franchise has tried

new things, such as on-foot exploration and pilot combat, but these changes

were met with significant criticism, thus limiting Star Fox's expansion potential.

I feel the same way as you Four-eyed Vulpine.

There's also been 1 F-Zero game for each console. Well...almost each console

SNES: F-Zero

N64: F-Zero X

GC: F-Zero GX

GBA: F-Zero maxmium velocity, F-Zero GP legends

Wii: Not planned yet
