Star fox command...EPIC FAIL!!!

Star fox command was just bad mainly because of all the endings.

Then theres the voices I mean really?I think they could of put in human voices I mean I got the game and played it.

Fox:Beep bop ah met ya.I mean that is bad.

The story board is stupid I mean one wrong move and the entire game changes.

The controls are more complicated than they need to be too.

This game was epic fail from the get-go, the moment it completely broke up the StarFox team at the very beginning of the game, and introduced it's crap job art style. It only got worse from there. :x

The game betrays a storyline that had been holding up quite well for eight years (1997-2005) and does so in an utmost abominable way.

A game with NINE endings!?! O_o The very idea is one of the most absurd concepts for any game at all, let alone StarFox. Talk about poor execution.

For me it is story that really makes a game. And here, the story was just Epic Fail to the 10th power. I am not sure I have ever known a game where so much potential was so horribly squandered.

Maybe Nintendo should have waited a couple years after Assault to put some more effort into the game. And it should have NOT been made for the DS. StarFox, IMHO, is truly suited for the major game console systems like Game Cube or even the Wii. It works better not only gameplay-wise, but also cinematic-wise for it's story.

As I have said in the past, the only thing good I can say about the game is that it introduced some interesting character ideas which I feel could be great in a future StarFox installment if used competently. Marcus McCloud, Lucy Hare, Amanda Toad, have potential in my view. But as I said earlier their potential was just plain squandered, story-wise, and appearance wise (anyone's fan art of them does a FAR FAR FAR better job).

Oh my god! When are people going to let this go?

The game was not that bad! People around here focus way too much on the story of this game instead of the gameplay, even though I do think story was important! The gameplay was the redeeming quality!

If you really look at it, a lot of the gameplay was the same as Star Fox 2, and people seem to love that, but then they bash on Command saying it sucked! It doesn't make sense!

The endings is what really ruined it for me :(

Me too. I only liked the gameplay. Other than that this game is the black sheep of the series and probably killed it too.

Well Star fox 2 had a better story board.

I'm agreeing with Star Fox Runner on this one; people need to just calm down.  Its just a game, for crying out loud!

Also, I absolutely LOVED the gameplay because it was just plain fun to take down a mothership by following a path up to the center and barrel-roll killing it (Please no Peppy jokes; they're getting too repetitive... :hehe:).  Storywise, get a grip, people.  So what if the team splits up!  It's just the way life is.  Nothing, and no one, with stay together forever!

I thought Command was great, but it is my least favorite game in the series. There isn't anything I really hate about it, but nothing that really made me go "holy cow that was amazing!" like in the other Starfox games.

But thats on slighty rare occasions, though.

I have been trying lately

to focus on the gamplay, too.

But...

If you really look at it, a lot of the gameplay was the same as Star Fox 2, and people seem to love that, but then they bash on Command saying it sucked! It doesn't make sense!

...on SF2 you used a controller,

or if you emulated it, your keyboard.

...In Command you were forced to used

that acursed Stylus and 1 button.

Believe me, it COULD have been better.

If it was not such a pain to my hand, I might

have enjoyed it more, phearps.

But Also...

I like it Rail-Shooter AND All-Range

Mode, not the other way around.

Personall prefence aside, why do I need

a fuel limit? It is pretty much stinky.

In one hand, you run out of it when

dealing with uniques. And with 'commons',

you recharge it by barrel rolling when they

shoot at you. Does not make much sense

to me... Why a time limit after all? That was

not really necesary. Maybe a time limit, so

if you did not finish the stage/situation before

it, you did not get 'a bonus'...

The ships can be one thing we can rescue,

maybe we can provide them with better

3D graphics... But they DO look quite cool,

I admit.

Some say the character concepts, which I am

not sure if to agree or disagree...

I liked the garbled up voices. Nice throwback to SNES Star Fox.

Gameplay was great. There was definitely a steep learning curve with the stylus but after I put in a couple hours and mastered the controls, it felt pretty natural. I thought the time limit was annoying at first but without it, where would the challenge be?

As for the endings, I thought they were funny.

The fact that people get so worked up over them is funnier.

I agree, I didn't find the controls or time limits to be problems but they did frustrate me at times.

As far as the endings go I liked most of them, but all of them mad me freakin depressed. The one where Krystal became Kursed was sad, with her and Fox never getting together and then they didn't even recognize each other when they met up again...and the one where Slippy is telling his children about the good old days with Starfox for some reason was really touching.

The ending where Falco and Fox become racers makes me lol now though.

Basically my tactic was to find one

of those ring-throwing enemies and

when they fired rings at me I B-Rolled,

so I eventually got up to fuel 350+ if not

more... Basically it would have saved me

a load of time if they did not include it

at all, because after all, I learned to...

'out-think' it.

I'm tired of seeing threads like this. You say you like discussing what's good and bad in a game but all I see is "EPIC FAIL" all over the damn place.

Maybe. What I say

is that we leave Command be Command.

Those who like it, like it and those who

do not, do not.

Just to clarify lately I have been trying

to center my views on gamplay. I did not

like it very much, but, leave Command be.

It is not like it is going to become 'AWEcool'

just because it is bashed on...

...Personally my attention is now focused

on that famous Director interested at

making the new Star Fox game.

People say he makes really cool games...

It was just once, but who knows?

This game really wasn't that bad in my opinion. Sure, the story could use some work, but it's the game that counts. (Heck, I don't even think the story is that bad... As long as the ending is a happy one.) And, you can't forget, IT HAD WIFI!!!

Well, that was quite a bump.

I hate this game, completely. I can't bear to play any more of it. I'm at some Fichina-esque mission, I think.

The gameplay, ugh, the gameplay is horrible. Using the TOUCH SCREEN to control the Arwing, boost, brake, bombs? Come on! You can't get ANYthing done. I can't aim properly and when I boost I swerve around the screen.

I'm not going to even bother saying how bad the story is, the gameplay is horrible.

Well, I never thought I'd say that about a Star Fox game, but now I have. :P
