Geo Stelar
Which version of Spyro do you like better?THE ORIGINAL NEW SPYRO (LEGEND OF SPYRO SERIES)SIMILARITIES: - both are purple dragons - both have Sparx for company - Can breath fire, ice, and electricity - Can't fly like an adult dragon - Can double jump and glide - Both collect gemsDIFFERENCES: - The original Spyro have bubble breath, while the newer Spyro replaces this with the Earth element - The original Spyro could learn how to swim, while the newer Spyro cannot - The original Spyro have used the power of Chi, but the newer Spyro replaces this with Dragon Time and Dragon fury - The original Spyro use Sparx to indicate health, but the newer Spyro has a health bar - Gems are originally used as money and/or treasure, but the newer Spyro use gems to refill health, skill bar, and Dragon Fury bars - The original Spyro also collects Orbs and Talismans, the newer one doesn't - The newer Spyro has a girlfriend, Cynder, while the original doesn't have one. - The newer Spyro looks uglier for me (except for Dawn of the Dragon) - The original Spyro has Superflame, the newer spyro doesn't - The newer Spyro has Convexity, the original doesn't - The newer Spyro learned how to fly, the original Spyro needs power-ups to do so. - The newer Spyro has the ability to control time, the original one doesn'tFOR ME, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF SPYRO HAS ALL ABILITIES OF BOTH VERSIONS OF HIM, BUT THE APPEARANCE IS HIS ORIGINAL ONE

Zero Flare
I prefer the original Spyro. He was cuter and the Spyro I think of whenever I hear about the series. The new one boasts huge eyes, an altered structure/colors and a bulkier frame.... it's like they're trying to make him more realistic but more cartoon-like at the same time. It just doesn't work in my opinion, and I certainly don't like the way the purpose of the gems has been changed. It makes you miss MoneyBags (surprisingly).Spyro, in my opinion, isn't meant to be that serious. The games are colorful and humorous. And who can take a purple dragon seriously, anyway? Spyro's original look is more 'good-like', you know what I mean? They just made Spyro look more like a cross between a Riptoc and a dragon in the new one. I agree with you liking the powers of the new spyro, though, melee attacks and time control are an advantage. Plus, spyro gets to use his claws, unlike before. Sarita
I tried to like Spryo once he moved to the PS2, but I just couldn't do it. Maybe if I tried again, I might like it (since I was pretty young at the time), but I just stopped before even leaving the first world of Enter the Dragonfly.I love playing the classic games. Ripto's Rage (Gateway to Glimmer) is my favourite.
Geo Stelar
Ripto's Rage was my favorite too!!The ability to swim really had changed it all.My only 'complain' is that they put a permanent superflame, but didn't put a permanent flying power-up. It would have been cooler then.
