I was really hoping that it would not come to this. Mr K's work for this community has gone far beyond even my own. But, sadly, we had an impasse for which we could find no compromise. It was with much regret and disappointment that I had to accept Mr. K's resignation.

First some clarifications:

The Krystal Archive is Mr. Krystal's site, and his alone. I never was and never will be involved with it. It is the KA subforum that will be affected, as it is hosted here.

Changes will be minimal, for the most part. Steve is still the Lead Moderator, and will continue to be an admin. I will continue to consult with him as I do now. We brought in two full-mods instead of one to minimize the loss of a moderating position. Depending on what is in the 5 gigs worth of items Mr. K has, there may be some staff openings for the site as well. I am committed to finishing that work.

This community is strong, and has made it through times that I feared would kill it, and has survived to be arguably the most active English-Language dedicated Star Fox community. Mr. K was a part of that, and he will be missed as part of the staff.

Out of seriousness, I will put away the trollface avatar for a while (since the smilie has caught-on, I will leave it). Since I am not on my home machine ATM, I will use a stock avatar before going to a custom avatar later.

I'm glad he's doing it this way. He could have started a scene and cursed me an everyone else he disagreed with. But he didn't. If he had, it would have resulted in a bunch of messy drama for sure. I'm glad he still has the respect for this community to not do that.

I'm not baiting. As I just said, there are 3 issues here

1- Most people saying how moral he is, when this is not some nobal sacrefice, especially since-

2- We don't know what the disagreement was about. Other then ugly rumours and assumtions which I find hard to believe.

3- You forget the crowd I hang/hung with. This kind of jape has been pulled many many times. True, he never said "I'm leaving teh inwebs 4eva!!!!!one!", but this is the equivalant of a kid refusing to play because things haven't gone his way. Of the options (remember point 2) that seem obvious, he could have

A- stood up for his beliefs.

B- accepted that for once democrasy hasn't gone his way and maintain mod status

or C- Whine about it and make a scene. he chose C.

This whle thing reminds me of the freemasons and little kids clubs, who keep saying they have secrets, but they are not talling you want the secrets are and keep mentioning the fact you have secrets. However, since no ones paying attention, you hold an important meet where everyone is invited to say ...you have secrets. This could have been placed in the time clock, or in one of the many personal threads, but no, this is worthy of front page news.

I speak in non-specific terms because it is the best way to do it. Leaving was my only reasonable option given my standpoint and situation. You were not privy to the details, so you can't say anything for certain.

1. I never told anyone that I was moral. That's up to others to decide. I'm just doing the best I know how. Whether or not it was noble, this was definitely a sacrifice. I put years of effort into this site. I could have forced my hand and either caused destruction or done a complete takeover, with relative ease. I didn't, because I don't think the community would have liked that, and more importantly, I'm not in the business of causing destruction.

2. And so you will continue to not know.

3. I know what crowd you speak of. I've seen it too, having been around this community longer than you. I've seen fans come, I've seen fans go. I've seen drama, I've seen distractions. In all of this, at no point did I "take my bat and ball and go home." I more said "I'm sorry, I can't play the game by the rules you've decided on. Here's my bat and my ball, and a bunch of my other stuff I helped buy. Best of luck you guys, and have fun. I'm going to watch from the sidelines."

What I have done is the opposite of whining. I've not uttered a single complaint or leveled a single negative word toward anyone in this matter.

Frankly, I tend to agree with you about how little it means that I'm stepping down. I only made 100 pages, 268 posts, the whole theme for both the forums and the site, and an absurd amount of research and content creation. Anyone dedicated enough could do my job. Still, as you can see from the replies to this post, the other post, and my post on the site, people on the average do care, so those messages were for them, not for you.

How about a compremise?" but since your being all secretive, we don't even know what game we're playing to begin with. Our only info is there a bat involved. The fact you're sticking around as a member proves that it cant be THAT big of a deal. If you hate boxing, you don't swap out your manager possition for front row seats.

For all we know, he's upset because of the troll face smily, but because of his childish attitude, we'll never know, so we can never fix. As I said, all we have is rumours which aren't worth buggery. If my desire was to get him to admit the issue, or to troll, or whatever, then I could just list the accusations. That is not my intent however, esp since they are baseless, but that's all we have to go on. This also means that, by not sorting this out, the people who talk outside of SFO will feel like the cast of the thing where certain issues arrise or certain people post in a thread.

As for the 3000 posts. I am doing what I always do. I won't list it here, but it will sufice to say that I don't suck up to staff, I don't tip toe round the issue, and I will back down or make a full retraction IF they can prove me wrong. I am a sceptic. I am empowered by truth, not 'winning'.

I'll assume that your goal is somewhere in here, but I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say, particularly the "cast of the thing where certain issues arise or certain people post in a thread" part.

Am I guessing correctly that you mean people will always feel unsettled about what went on, and there'll be an unwanted sense of mystery that'll never be solved?

I'm just trying to figure out your motivations, and so far they are very unclear to me. The only conclusion I've been able to come to so far is "Trying to bring Mr. Krystal down a peg in front of people who don't care to see him brought down a peg," which, again, I don't see a real purpose for because your methods aren't going to bring anyone to your side.

At the risk of getting admonished by a mod...Nobody likes an asshole. Bluntness is useful to a point, but not to the point of belligerence. Whether you're right or wrong about this issue is immaterial because all the badgering in the world won't get anything accomplished.
