Survival in Jurassic Park

Here's my first take on the island. The gray lines are fences, the white are roads, and the buildings are the green squares. The vehicle tour route is marked out with blue dots, and goes counter-clockwise around the various enclosures.

Here's a guide on the various areas of importance.

Paradise Lake. This was the place we drove into and left the cars for a few seconds. It's among the largest, if not THE largest enclosure in the park, is meant to be driven into during the tourist tours, and contains the following species:

Brachiosaurus, Camarosaurus, Compsognathus(Those were all over the place in the books. Simply because they were scavengers, and actually thrived on supplementing their diet of insects with dung from the other Dino's, helping keep the cleaning of the park on a manageable level.),Corythosaurus, Dryosaurus and Parasaurolophus.

---

T-Rex Hill. Located in the mountains east of the northwestern enclosure, this contains the following animals:

Tyrannosaurus Rex. One fully grown monster, and a juvenile who keeps well out of her way.

---

Stegosaurus Enclosure. This we drove past on the way to the visitor centre. Due to their minuscule brains, strong territorial instincts and large spikes on their tails, these are separated from the other herbivores to avoid accidentally harming them. It contains the following animals:

Stegosaurus, Compsognathus.

---

Airport with helicopter landing pad. This is where we arrived, and lies on the eastern parts of the island, separated by the T-Rex enclosure to the west by a large mountain.

---

Dryosaurus Garden. This is a small pen meant to house only Drysaurs. Letting them grow up a little before they are released into the northwestern enclosure. This reduces the risk of them being trampled by the larger dinosaurs and injured. This enclosure contains the following animals:

Dryosaurus.

---

Dock. It lies on the east coast of the island, and will be the main way of entering the island once open to the public.

---

Cretaceous Plain. This contains several plant eaters, all of the Cretaceous period. It's currently not meant to be driven into, due to some of the animals there being a little temperamental and protective. One will however get a great vantage point of the dry savannas and the central lake on the raised roads going around. It contains the following animals:

Ankylosaurus, Compsognathus, Edmontosaurus, Gallimimus, Pachycephalosaurus, Styracosaurus and Triceratops.

---

Allosaur Forest. This lies right west of the Cretaceous Plain and contains the following animals:

Allosaurus. two fully grown and two juveniles.

---

Cerato-Pen. This small enclosure contains the following animals:

Ceratosaurus.

---

Swamp of Trias. This lies just south of the Cretaceous Plain and the ringroad around it, on the edge of the island. The terrain is mostly primitive marshland, and since we have only one dinosaur from the Triassic, and it has quite special needs, it's all alone in its enclosure. This contains the following animals:

Dilophosaurus.

---

Visitor centre. This is the heart of the park. With the tour centre, control room, garage, hotel, restaurants, gift shops and more. It lies on top of a hill among the mountains, straight in the middle of the island.

----

Raptor Pen. If one follow a small path trough the mountains to the southwest of the visitor centre, one will come upon the Raptor enclosure. This contains the following animals:

Velociraptors. 8 of them.

Going a little further to the southwest, one will find the power plant powering the island. It pumps water down into the ground, and uses thermal warmth to drive its generators.

Some will notice that the map is quite crowded apart from the islands southeastern parts, which I have on purpose left open. This to symbolise the fact that the park is not fully operational yet. Ingen's strapped for cash, and need more investors if it is start building there. That's why you roleplayers are here really, to be convinced so much that you'll report to possible investors that the park is a good, safe investment.

Very cool. And you actually named the terrains from the dinos themselves. Good work.

AWEC00L.

Well, let's see. I think this map will

be pretty much ready-to be used.

Anybody has complains/comments/doubts/

anything to say?

If no, then please tell me which map do you preffer.

I have no trouble using whatever one do you choose

'people', but I can not use both at the same time.

Thanks for the praise. I had a lot of fun putting this together. With hindsight, I should perhaps have scaled both the image itself, and the text (Which by the way is a JP font I found!) itself as well.

As an added bonus, while not a part of the roleplay, here's a map of my favorite of the numerous 5-Star parks I've made. This one has 138 dinosaurs, split over all the species in the game. (Modded. Made more challenging and realistic, but one can unlock all the species.) 4 visitor centres, all with the required buildings to operate induvidually, 4 safarie routes going trough the herbivore enclosure and by my pair of Carcharodontosauruses (I use a system where I make hills to restrict the movement of carnivores. They can't reach the cars, or the herbivores.) and countless other attractions.

@Asper: C00L! Another good map,

not RP-related but still cool.

@EVERYONE: We are now on page 60.

As I have said on my latest post,

                    John Hammond meant 'guests/visitors'

                    when he said 'Clients/Inverstors'.

If you want to have a chat, either still

on the restaurant or ask Hammond

something, now is the time to.

|EDIT|: Also, the chat can go as far as pages 61 or

            if needed, 62.

Reporter: Recent inactivity has gotten a certain player kinda worried and a little bored. Is there a solution for this? Who is this player? Would this RP be continued? Or is it not, because of the resignation of an RP mod? Or maybe the RP producer is thinking of new ideas? Or maybe he's waiting for a new RP mod before continuing? Or maybe he's thinking of being an RP mod himself? Or maybe.....

I think we should remain 'quiet'

until they choose another RP mod.

Furthermore, we are no longer

[at least not for now] limited by

1500 posts (100 pages), so the

chit-chat is no longer a big issue

(I would like to keep it at minimun,

but in situations like now, you are

able to talk and chat as much as

you want. However do not abuse it,

please).

Do not worry about that.

Even if it was a fail (I do NOT

think it was  ) I have

failed 3 times this week, and

2 on the SAME DAY. I got SF-O's

FAIL record.  :(

Don't be afraid of keep going with the RP. While we don't currently approve new roleplays to be started, we will make sure the ones currently running can go on like nothing has happened.

Who's gonna keep this RP up?

We don't have an RP mod yet, and DRL has left.

That sounds good enough...

I hope he has the enough time, though.

U-oh. Well, I'd love to take control of the roleplay, but I'm going into army service in about a weeks time, at which point my activety will be low for a couple of months. As a result of that, the last days are especially crowded and hectic for me as well. Is there any other options?

As far as RP mods go, the staff is currently evaluating the applications, and preparing for the public confirmation voting. You'll probably end up with two new mods pretty soon. In the meantime, I'll be around and watch over things.

Nope, this RP really kinda died in the water....with DRL gone it's like a motorboat with no motor .  Oars just won't propel it......

Well we got our 2 new RP mods now but...with DRL gone, this RP isn't going to be in good shape...

I was actually about to mention that.

It is a good question. Since DRL kinda left, and really didn't do much to ensure the future of this campaign, will it just be put aside or what?

I'm going to guess it will be locked soon and then a new RP will take-over (Echoes of Silence, The Mimic or whatever).

It won't get totally deleated or...maybe it will...

I dunno what to say...

We're just starting the RP, not much action has occurred yet, and now all of a sudden it gets a big chance of being locked...

Alright guys, I've read your concerns about this RP, now that Sylum and I are around, you don't have to worry about the Mod part, but of course, DRL is still gone. Is there anyone that wants to take the reigns on this? It might be a good experience.

Yea. We'll give you enough time to decide who want to take the wheel on this. It's an rp that has a  lot o potential.
