Robert Monroe
Old school games are about good gameplay shody graphics, newschool games are about good graphics shody gameplay.Good gameplay my ASS.Why don't you replay some of those old games and see how much of a douch they are. For every "Super Mario Brothers" theres 10 "Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum"s.

There are dozens of bad games out there, but the minimum standard has risen imo. For example, if you watch the angry nerd you will know about LJN who made some of the most awful games ever made. There are next to no stuff that is THAT bad around today. Even the wort movie tie ins of today such as iron man and transformers are at least tollerable in comparison. Like SNES Starfox, or Blaster Master.Games like the LJN ones can choke on a dick.

I seem to have made the mistake of assuming you were a retro guy. I guess it won't be off topic to ask where you stand in the retro hypocrasy? If you've not heard, it goes like this.Retro guy believes that only retro games are good as they were more original and creative, dismissing all new games as derivative and unimagainative. However, when a new zelda/megaman/whatever game series that is bringing out a retro style game that is no different to the 15 year old games, they claim it as a masterpiece. The core hypocrasy (and one I believe is true) is that they say new is bad because they are not different enough, but only ever buy and like stuff that has never changed at all. Thats it.
Matrilwood
Games that suck suck regardless of whether they were released in 1982 or 1882. But modern games just seem to suck that little bit extra.
CrypticQuery
You know what, I'm going to change my opinion a little, Old School is better *MOSTLY*, but there are many hidden gems in today's slew of games. (i.e. Ratchet and Clank/Sly Cooper)
Scott7
Frankly i like them both, i get urge every now and then to play an N64 game and play it for at least a good 2 weeks, Its nice to re-visit some old memories from when we were kids.I love new games but its rare that i ever find one that makes me think "oh my god i don't think i'm ever going to this thing down", like i did with Fallout 3 through 2009, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl the year before.
