Hello. I did the voices for StarFox 64

voice

Well, I admit I PMed him with

some questions regarding voice-acting

(in general, not SF) althrough I did not

find the answer... 'Clear enought' (could

be because of me bing a dummy)...

I have to say that I NEVER doubted he

was the one who voiced in SF64.

As I said before, it is really an honor for

me to have someone who took part in the

making of the games around.

I agree. I did not expect an actual voice actor to come on to a forum dedicated to one of his/her (his in this case) games. It is a surprise and a welcome one at that. :D

Don't pester him for stuff, guys. If he wants to post something, he can. If not, then let's respect his decision. Just because we're fans of a game he worked on doesn't mean we're entitled to his labor.

I wasn't trying to pester him.  At first, I was just skeptical, I thought he was someone playing a joke, but after reading through his posts, I think his story checks out.

Didn't we once have a member here who claimed to be Jim Walker, but then we found out it wasn't him, and we got pissed at that guy, and he deleted his account?

Maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else... :?

i think this guy is an imposter.

No offence Matt, but he has provided enought

'evidence'. In addition, he is one of the people

who took part in the creation of the games.

Why try to alienate him, when we can befriend him?

Seriously guys, if he REALLY is Mike West, leave him alone.

You keep this up and he might leave SF-O.

If he's managed to do that much homework then he might as well be the real Mike West then.

Seriously, lighten up and take you're offered.

Heres something:

If you think that is REALLY Mike West: ok, you believe that.

If you think that is REALLY NOT Mike West: Fine, that doesn't mean trolling or anything.

Already said, man. I've talked to him on Facebook, he added me as a friend, I've seen pictures of his family, his musically talented son, and of him with Paul McCartney and so on. For the love of God, it's not Barack Obama or Hannah Montana, it's a regular guy who had something to do with making one of the best Star Fox games ever.

How often is it that someone like that actually stops by these silly forums, anyway? Never? All the smug skepticism from dozens of random patrons here is probably the reason why.

Well, first off, Welcome to SF-O Mike.  cool to see that someone who did work on a classic game is here. and from the sound of it, things are all good and you're living a nice life. and forgive me for not knowing what to say. xD I get like this when someone like you shows up on a place like this due to worrying about sounding like a complete dope. which I prbably am now by rambling about it.

enjoy your time here, however long it may be since you're probably a busy guy.

Hi. My name is Mike West and I did quite a few of the voices for StarFox many years ago. I have done a lot of video games, but for some reason, I get more people asking about Fox than any other project.

I am a former radio announcer and I currently work out of my home studio doing freelance voice work.

I just want to say thanks to all of the people over the years who have had such nice things to say about the game. If you ever have any questions, you now know where to find me. My voicework web site is

mikewestvoicework.com I am also an auto journalist. You can see how really old I am now by going to pnwautos.com and watching some of my car reviews, if you are totally bored out of your minds and tired of playing StarFox.

All the best,

Now do a B.Roll!

Mike W. :fox:

There's been countless of people lying about this sort of stuff, we even had one back in KLA saying he had an uncle working in the Starfox saga. I wont buy this even if everyone ell's does. Not until I see REAL proof.

Okay, look. I'm normally pretty skeptical about this kind of stuff, but I see no reason to doubt him. What he has posted is true so far as I can tell, and the IP logged when he signed up is from the correct geographical area.

Plus, Fred has confirmed it.

Sadly, I think he may leave over this. Please stop. If you don't believe it for whatever reason, then ignore this thread.

Ok  you nutty SF people. What do you want me to do to prove to you that I did voices for the game you are all so crazy about? Can I post a voice somewhere? Do you want a blood test? Mother's maiden name?

Up until a few years ago, I had the actual script for all the parts I played. Of course I could have simply copied each line while watching the game and made the paper look weathered. I just remember going to Redmond, sitting in an office with about 10 Nintendo people and reading for each part. I never thought it would turn into this all these years later. What else do you want to know. I have interviewed just about every one of my idols, from Paul McCartney to Buzz Aldrin to Bill Clinton to Stevie Wonder, who by the way blessed my musician child when my wife was 8 months pregnant. Once in a while, not knowing or speaking to someone you looked up to is more fun. It's part of the mystic. So. Am I really those people on that game? Email me and I will send you a voice sample or two.

Now, off to see Lost.

Mike West

After reading a repost of this topic off AL, I thought I would come though this topic and see what all the buzz was about...

The internet is so funny, because it literally gives everyone a VOICE,  (Lolz for the pun) and no one will believe that someone who actually participated in what makes the fandom great in the first place, is who they say they are.

Though I have to say, if Christopher Lloyd showed up and said he was him... I don't think I would believe him either.  Though I could ask him what kind of cigarettes he smokes.  Lol, fangirl.  Anyway!

The biggest question that comes to mind is just how far you were throwing your voice for the part, and by that I mean... do you always sound like Fox?  Or is this just another one of your array of wide range voices you do?  Like if you called me on the phone, would it sound like Fox McCloud just called me?
