Your take on: Slippy Toad

So, whats your take on Slippy Toad? Do you like/dislike him, and why? What could have been better with him? And other things related to this character.

And don't be to hard on him. The rest of the team would have fallen out of the skies in burning Arwings long ago if it wasn't for him. :P

He's not as bad as many people make him out to be.  Without him, everything would fall into disrepair.  ALTHOUGH he can be one of the more annoying characters, especially in his HORRENDOUS and confusing voicework that I believe was fixed in Assault.

Slippy? What can I say about Slippy.... Slippy is a crouching moron, hidden badass. Yes, he's a hyperactive spaz who picks fights with the enemies. Yes, he then gets chased around for it.

But he also BUILT A TANK AND A SUBMARINE AT THE AGE OF 18. He also has smoke bombs disguised as prayer beads. Taking his Assault (haha, Assault. )multiplayer stats, Slippy is also BUILT LIKE A BRICK HOUSE. His overweight, squat demeanor and general toughness? I'd bet you anything Slippy could grapple the hell out of you.

And while he might be the second-worst pilot on the team? He's still a DAMN PILOT. This is more than what ALOT OF PEOPLE can say. The very fact he can HANDLE a high-maintenence starfighter speaks LOADS about him. Besides, again, most of his bad piloting comes from him deciding to try and be a badass. It's not so much as a lack of skill as it is a sense of over-confidence.

As for his voice, it's not that annoying. It was worst in Adventures, and you never actually have to LISTEN TO HIM in that game on account of him being a hintmachine.

I love the whole StarFox team. So of course, I love Slippy. He is not as great as Fox, Krystal, or Falco, but he is a great character, with a likable personality. I can't understand why anyone would hate the guy. Sure he gets into trouble during some missions, but doesn't that happen to all of Fox's teammates.

As for voices, his Assault version is just perfect for him, IMHO. But I also liked his 64 and Adventure voices as well.

The mere sight of him can impregnate even males, should he choose to allow such a thing, though most of the time he is too modest and reasonable to allow it to happen. The only reason he asks for help all the time is because he wants to give the other people a sense of self-worth next to his mighty presence. Yes, he deserves worship, though often does not ask for it. *Does some sort of holy sign.*

Those are some extreemly creepy thoughts Sam......

But He's a decent Character, annoying at some points in the games but still decent. And I don't think of him as useless either, The Arwing's from Assault are my personal favorite out of most of the vehicles and Tecnologies seen in the series, so i have to give him credit for the designs he come up with at some point between Adventures and Assault.

Slippy is one of the best characters ever.

When I was younger and first started playing Star Fox, Slippy was my favourite character (I had a thing for reptiles and amphibians over mammals, until I learned how bad ass foxes were), and is still one of my favourites just for pure nostalgia.

Slippy's an alright character. His whole "Fox get this guy off me" thing is a little annoying, but I still think he's cool.  :cool:

Slippy is my homeboy. I love Slippy. Can't get enough Slippy. I love the guy, he helps me get more points by using himself as a decoy and flying in front of me so I can shoot the unexpecting foes (As such is my backwards mind). He's a blast to use in Assault multiplayer mode, run people over with the Landmaster and stuff. Slippy's got a likeable personality that you can't turn down, an established history (Eat that, Krystal!), and he has one of the most important roles in the Star Fox Team. Without him, Fox's Arwing wouldv'e fallen apart years ago. I felt like I had to apologize to him when I learned he was a guy after playing 64. Sorry, Slip!

*notices the bathtub is falling out of the hole Fox shot into the front of the house* "No-no-no-no-no-NOOO!!"

The tub falls out of the hole and crashes to the ground below, as Slippy falls on his butt.

"Hey, Fox, could you shoot my towel down off of the rack for me?"

Ah Slippy...he is what he is. He's always been intended as the comic relief character and fulfills that role well, though it may not always be intentional. I blame Nintendo for their poor voice acting choices giving Slippy such a bad reputation.
