Asper Sarnoff
Okay people, let's all calm down a little. It's quite obvious that no common ground can be achieved in the discussion of Wolf sexuality, and that there won't be any good coming out of letting this go further. All parties seems to have made their case, and if someone else wants to voice their opinion in the subject, I'll urge them to take it to PM with those who'd like to talk about it. Milkyway64
Giygas isn't controversial, he's just creepy. The fetus isn't even confirmed to be intentional despite the boss's background. For another thing, it's certainly family-friendly, for any family that respects gay people. If someone doesn't like or respect gay people, it is irrelevant. And be careful - things like equating all gay topics with porno or saying gay people aren't family-friendly, can be very derogatory. Please refrain from saying that, alright?I didn't associate porno and non-family friendly with gays, you did. I associated it with talk of who bangs who, be it Fox and Wolf, Peppy and James, or Krystal and one of our many fanboys. The letters S-E-X combined together does not always imply intercourse, sex can also mean gender, and while not used like that in this situation, it still applies. By your logic, Bambi has strong sexual connotations, as you see both his mother and father in the movie, and Bambi falls in love with the doe at the end, and logically, you can assume, "That buck is totally going to/did bang that doe," yet it is a family movie intended for young children, and I hope no one actually watches that movie and thinks that. The same could be said for Lion King, as Simba and Nalaa have a daughter at the end, implying they had sex, but that's not the point nor is it meant to be noticed as such. Attraction =/= sexual intercourse.Attraction doesn't = sexual intercourse, but sexual intercourse is a STAGE of attraction in the sense sexuality is concerned for. Simba and Nalaa, or Bambi and the doe are not instances where you think about it, and further young came from it, giving it relevence in the story.Starfox, where romance was very very scarce and in the background until Krystal (where it STILL stayed in the background through assualt) is different. It's not a story driven game sans Adventures and maybe Command. Pairings without any indication is fanwank, or thinking a "little too far in."Even if there are implications in Japanese eyes, you've yet to show or explain these for my understanding. Dermot
Alright. If I can't figure a way to explain the Japanese eyes further, I'll wait until I can. As I said in the beginning, it was rather hard to explain.Anyway, I said what I said because you said "Only, HELLO, StarFox is not exactly a porno, or erotica, or anything that calls for gay/straight discussion at ALL, especially on this site which is supposed to be "family safe."".The thing is, I don't necessarily think of all fanwank as inherently adult-oriented. It can be G-rated at times, and it's been a part of the fandom for a long time. A potential pairing doesn't have to be plot-relevant to be interesting. It's called shipping. Please don't funnel all relationship topics into the single-minded target of sex. Relationships (even imagined ones) can be complex ideals of love, interpersonal chemistry, compatibility, personal fulfillment, etc. And yes, sometimes sex. But sex is not the end-all-be-all of human happiness - it's not 100% of everything. Sometimes it's not even 10% or 1%.

My last few posts were made over heavy annoyance and now even -I- can see the bullshit in them.I still stand over my core opinion, but I'd like to retract my more recent outrageous claims. My bottom line is; there's no conclusive evidence and while "shipping" is fine, it really has no place in the canon at all like some of the words you used implied.I want to add why I was annoyed. I'll make it clear I have nothing against gays. I really don't. I have a few gay friends and a even a brother. However, almost every post I've ever seen you make here REVOLVES around that very subject. It's like you have nothing else to talk about, or any other interests at all like a developed human being. It's one thing to be gay, it's a completely different thing to be SO obsessed with it that everything you say HAS to include it.

I have long-standing gay opinions on Wolf. I have long-standing gay opinions on Falco. etc. It's topic-appropriate. :3 Besides, shipping and fanart are some of my favorite topics in the whole fandom. (I'm a regular at FurAffinity, after all, where it's business as usual.) I will discuss it - in specific topic-appropriate threads. :3 If you aren't interested in the thread, skip over it. If you aren't interested in the comment, skip over it, or disregard it. If you're annoyed anyway, don't be - it's a legitimate interest. This isn't a single-threaded chatroom. It's a multi-boarded, multi-threaded forum where specific interests can be funneled contextually into their appropriate topics. As for obsession, you would be quite right, but not for the reasons you may think. I have obsessive compulsive disorder. If managed, it still grips me, but without consuming me. It can even be fun when I divert it towards my everyday interests. Konchaski
I just always assumed Pigma, Leon, Wolf, and Andrew were a stealth parody of Journey to the West. Sexuality to me doesn't matter as long as you write it well. But I don't tend to read or look at pictures of pairings anyway. I don't usually like that as a focus./doesn't add anything to the topic. Cool story bro.

Robert Monroe
Journey to the West...a very interesting thought. Specifically, here are the characters me and Konchaski have identified:Sha Wùjìng is known to be the most obedient, logical, and polite of the three disciples, and always takes care of his master, seldom engaging in the bickerings of his fellow-disciples. - Leon, obviously. Logical, quiet, and keeping to himself.Wukong's child-like playfulness is a huge contrast to his cunning mind. - Basically Andrew. Childish describes him all too well. The cunning is probably played for irony, considering Andrew is a dumbass. Also, Wukong is the "Monkey King", and Andrew is the heir to Andross. Wu kong also goes around killing whoever wrongs his lord, which is something Andrew probably tries to do and fails on every level possible.Zhu Bajie is a complex and developed character in the novel. He looks like a terrible monster, part human and part pig, who often gets himself and his companions into trouble through his laziness, gluttony, and propensity for lusting after pretty women. - The most obvious. This is of course, Pigma, and describes him to a T.San Zhang is a kind and compassionate monk. Very obedient to the rules and prohibitions of Buddhism. Hates to kill anything, and this often leads him to conflict with Wu Kong, who kills everyone who wishes to harm his master, no matter if they are demons or humans. - Probably the most obvious (besides Andrew) parody, Wolf is the total opposite of his character, being very hardnosed and an outlaw. However, they have similarities in that they are both very calm and collected individuals.

Dermot
Early Dragon Ball WAS Journey to the West. Sort of.I knew that. That's mainly where I first heard of Journey to the West. Goku and Bulma and Oolong and Puar and Yamcha...against Emperor Pilaf and Shu and Mai. :

Everywhere I see you, gay discussion follows. That's not keeping it to one funneled topic of interest, it's all over the place and it's all you ever want to talk about.I'd go on, but Rob and Konchaski blew my mind too much to think. SPEAKERnight.
I think Wolf deserves (along with the rest of Star Wolf) more character development, and I mean by more of a look into his background and what made him into the mercenary we all know and love. And it could advance the story more if executed well.
rainfyre66
It's been interesting to see Wolf go from straight up villain to anti-hero that teeters between the line of "is he friend or foe?" Frankly, I think that's the best way to go with him, keeping his intentions shaded with a little mystery, yet not an outright enemy. If Nintendo wanted to bother to delve a little deeper into a character, I think Wolf would be the most intriguing, for sure.

Walrusface
I love Wolf!1. He's cool looking2. His appearance is backed up with a cool voice3. Ever hear the phrase "Can't let you do that, Star Fox!"?4. Reliable character in Brawl5. Not to mention his overall character, his cold personality, the grudging respect for Fox
LoneWolf
He's just awesome.1. He's a wolf (I love wolves )2. He's a good match for Fox, sort of Obi Wan vs. Darth Vader.3. Can't let you do that, Star Fox!
Guest Trace
I think Wolf is a pretty cool Character. But in Star Fox Assault and Command they pretty much just screwed him over..I mean now hes working with Fox, saving his life and stuff. Wolf always wanted to Kill Fox but now he just ends up Saving him. He still is a cool character but you can't consider him much of an Anti - Hero anymore.... Did you miss the part where he said "if anyone is going to tan your hide, it'll be me"? Wolf isn't so stupid as to let his petty rivalry with Fox ruin the Lylat System. he saved Fox because he knew Fox was needed or else ALL OF LYLAT WOULD BE SCREWED. I will give that he did help Fox quite a bit in Assault, and a bit more in command, but he did do it to make sure that he could be the one to take down Fox. It is almost like Goku and Vegeta in a way from DBZ.
