I'm thinking about buying an NES on eBay or Amazon. Any Advice? (Also I may just get an SNES if I can;t find a reasonable NES)

Advice as in what games you should get? Or what nes to buy? Or...what?

Make sure the seller has good feedback.

You should probably get a top-loader. They're easier to get to work, and don't have region blocking.

games I recommend for it:

Super Mario Bros. 3

Legend of Zelda, the first one  NOT the second one, the second one sucks.

Bubble Bobble 2

Bases Loaded

Duck Hunt (you'll need to get a light gun off ebay or something)

Rockin' Kats (a seldom known about fun little action game about a cat trying to save his girlfriend)

Personally, I'd just get a Wii, and order some old school NES, and Super NES games for the "Virtual Console" feature of the Wii, and get a classic controller accessory to plug into the Wii to play the older games...

Sometimes old NES consoles or games don't work anymore.

Zelda II is awesome, what are you talking about. Its a huge adventure, a great challenge, and has tight well done controls.

Ebay is the best place to look, I got mine for a good price there.  Try to buy in wholesale lots, you can get bunches of great games through one.  Also, see top ten lists on certain games you should get, if you have any questions on anything, don't hesitate to PM me! :D If you're going to buy the original VCR style one, I'd recommend one with a new 72-pin connector installed.  Also, make sure you THOROUGHLY clean the games when you get them.  This can be done with Q-Tips and Windex (Windex works MUCH better than rubbing alcohol.)

It'd be like Rad Racer but in space.

You could always just turn the 3D mode on without glasses, it simulates space

Oh, I didn't know that... :hehe:

...well, like I said, with a Wii, then you could use the Virtual Console feature to get the old Nintendo NES games.  It's easier, and you don't have to blow on the game cartridges and hold down "Reset" with them like you did the with the actual NES.

But if you want an NES console for Nostalgia purposes, then...I can't help ya'.  Sorry.

Get an original, not the top loader if you want nostalgia. Clean the games and replace the 72 pin connector if you can. If you don't know how to do it, there are instructions online, or someone could show you how here.

Top loader doesn't have region blocking though.

I don't import games, and region locking can be removed.

It caaaan.... but its easier to get a top-loader. Removes the problem of having to replace the connector too, I'd think. And top loaders I've just had an easier time to get to work when compared to the original model.

Best thing for you to do for  NES and it's games is stick to the VC that the Wii has..so this way you don't have to continuously blow on old cartridges. That or an Emulator, which there are to be frank a hell of a lot out there.  but hey, if you want to find the original system for THE experience..then by all means, get it. :D
