Star Fox Runner
I preordered it, and I am loving every minute of it!There are parts of the game that can be difficult, but it's not impossible. I haven't gotten there yet, but there is a level in the game that recreates Whomp's Fortress from Super Mario 64. I can't wait to get there. ndf
Just beat it, but still have 49 stars to go.One thing I didn't like about it was that they kept recycling the same Bowser boss battle just like in SMG1. I guess that's classic Mario for ya', but still..Other than that though, it was everything I wanted it to be. A must buy.
Milkyway64
Got 241 stars today. There's one more left, but I'm unsure how to get it.My honest review; spoilers;long story short, it rocks. It's everything Galaxy 1 was but a bit better. One of the biggest differences is the map, it's like New Super Mario Bros meets Galaxy. It's level-to-level, world-to-world progression with star gates holding you back every so often until you have enough. Each galaxy only has a star or two, meaning it's 3D mario in 2D mario's formula. I personally love this. Some bits ARE a bit difficult. I would have seen the gameover screen a few times if this game didn't feed you lives. I was never really frustrated by the game's fault though, only my own blunders when I was rushing and trying to take risky shortcuts. All of the game's 6 worlds are fair and interesting, which leads to my biggest gripe about the game. There's so much packed in here that we see most concepts and enemies only once. This means everything is FRESH and nothing really feels like it's repeating itself, but it also means that a concept you really like and want to see more of probably isn't going to happen. Another half-gripe of mine, the music. No, it's not bad. It's good. TOO good. Mario wasn't just meant to jump and whoop to the most amazingly epic music I've ever heard. Okay, so maybe I'm exagerating this a little, but the music is incredible and at times made me wonder what it was doing in a Mario game, although I wasn't complaining. Here's the spoiler part. We have a special world like we had in Super Mario World. It's basically 8 extra galaxies with it's own "boss fight" at the end that requires 100 stars to enter. Soon, after collecting all 120 stars and beating Bowser again, the game says "NO U" and tells you you're only half done. 120 green stars are spread to each galaxy, 2-3 per depending on how many normal stars were there. Unlike the Luigi quest from galaxy 1, these stars are not simple redos of the original stars, but they are still nothing very new. Some may think it lazy, but they are only well hidden in the same missions you've already done, much like much harder to find Comet Medals. However, if you open your eyes, you'll realize this is exactly how Super Mario 64 handled a lot of it's stars. I felt a nostalgic joy hunting the green stars. It was reminiscent of finding Jiggies in Banjo Kazooie or the previously mentioned SM64 stars. You gotta keep your eyes peeled and explore EVERYTHING. I'm not sure what happens after you get that last star, but if I had to guess just a congratulations message and a wii message board picture. Shinigami
I plan on getting this game as soon as possible; already read IGN's 10/10 review (which is literally very rare to come from them). How's the gameplay? is it standing up to all the credit that's being given? EazyIN
Oh it's awesome. If you played the first one, it's a hell of a lot better. (directed towards 2)

Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Holy hell....I just got to world S and I must say, I nearly lost it. Is it just me or have they stepped it up in terms of challenging factors? In the first one I only struggled with three main challenges (Two of them were the purple coin challenges and the one with the bombs and blowing up that junk pile) but this one....geez laweeze I spent almost an hour trying to kill two comet stars. And upon arriving at world S, I was more than thrilled to see that the dreaded Mario Squared galaxy is reminiscent of the Toy Time Galaxy but like 10 times worse. Tell me, is there a galaxy resembling Battlestation's Purple coin challenge with moving platforms along with the gravity changes in world S too? Please say it isn't so.....Please....
Guest Mr. Mario
Honestly...tell me the truth. Is SMG2 really that good?
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
In my opinion, it's just like in reviews it's a masterpiece. There's a nice accelerating pace of difficulty found within missions. The added power ups and the addition of Yoshi just added more flavor to how epic SMG 1 was. The fact that they revert back to SMG 1, Mario 64 and Super Mario world was indeed a treat to the hardcore Mario fan. The SMG orchestra delivers a new batch of catchy tunes that make me get more into the game. To me, the Super Mario Galaxy games are the whole package. Even though I'm not 100% complete with this one, I've played far enough along the game that it should be near perfect if not perfect like many of the magazines and individual players say themselves. This game along with a select few is one of the rare titles I can't seem to put down. No matter how hard I try. Yes, my friend. It is THAT DAMN GOOD. If ever you get the chance, try it. You must....YOU MUST!
Four-eyed Vulpine
I haven't gotten the game yet, but I definitely plan on getting it this summer. I'm sure it's an excellent game. However, I kind of find it odd how Nintendo managed to release a second major Mario title for the Wii so quickly. Heck, a second Zelda title for the Wii is already in the works.Guess they're milkin' them for all they're worth, eh? Asper Sarnoff
While I'm sure it's indeed awesome, I'm still almost choking(In the best possible way that is) on the original SMG, and I'm not sure if I can take more of the same anytime soon. I'd honestly have preferred them to make a non-Mario game instead, based on one of their many original franchises. (Doesn't take a genious to figure out which one.) Star Fox Runner
I've been playing Haunty Halls and Boo Moon, and I gotta say I love the throwback to Super Mario World by using the original Ghost House music. The Boo level music from the first Super Mario Galaxy gave a sense of mysteriousness and I liked it, but this throwback theme adds the feeling of creepiness that the Mario Ghost levels needs! Another throwback is that on Boo Moon, when you open one of the doors, it plays the same sound that the doors in the SMW Ghost Houses. There are a lot of other throwbacks to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario World, and the sense of nostalgia it brings just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside! :D
DZComposer
I'm playing through it. I totally dig the throwbacks to old-school Mario in it. Any of you notice that Yoshi makes the classic SNES Yoshi sound from time to time? I like the occasional inclusion of classic Mario tunes as well, and the occasional locking the camera to Mario's right brings back fond memories of 2D Mario games from the past. It feels like a Super Mario World game to me. I'm also glad they finally orchestrated the Bowser level music (the one that debuted in SM64).So far, I like it better than the first one. There is plenty in this game for a long-time Nintendo fan to appreciate.

Sol-Ratcht Saporro
@Asper, what the hell? That's like a low-budget Super Dragon Tales Galaxy.I had to take a hiatus from SMG2 to study for an Organic Chemistry test and to finish Trauma Team. OMG, I still have 100+ green stars to go....Makes me wanna cry for a second. But at least it's not just redos of these levels.
