And for those that wanted to see it, here's the CIA world's money ranking, and it's updated since I last saw it, and the United States is.... still dead last.

You ass, Julius, right as I hit "quote" you added even more shit. Anyway, we actually have 3 Colt M1911's, I have a Springfield M1A (Civialian M14, still has the fire selector groove in the stock), a brand new, as in brand effin new M1 Garand, and of course my Saiga AK-47 chambered for 7.62x51 as opposed to the standard 7.62x39 the traditional AKs shoot.

:lolhyst: I autucally laughed on this.  Escpecially on the begining.

*wipes tear* Woo.

Apart from the beginning, what else is funny?

So you're going to be carrying around a weapon bigger than a car?

No  i'll be flying something bigger than a car.

Funny thing is, if I remember correctly, the man portable minigun used in Predator had to have its fire rate halved, and Bill Duke (Mac) could still barely stand while firing it.

How much did it cost to rent/buy it for the movie?

Miniguns are a completely ridiculous concept/notion for foot soldiers. LGMs and hell, SAWs do the same effective job without being completely insane. Gatlings should stay on vehicles, where they belong.

No idea.

Realistically, they are impractical, but a GPMG or SAW doesn't look as bad ass as the minigun in Predator, and they can't show how frightened that battle-hardened soldier was, as a minigun will actually make that whistling sound when the trigger is held down when it's empty.

Well yeah, for a cinematic effect, the gatling in Predator was perfect.

Funnily enough, Predator influenced all other infantry gatlings after it, but Predator's is still the most realistic looking. The batterypack is very small, and the gun is more of a spinning-barrled rifle than anything else.

Nowadays we see stuff like the gatling from Fallout.

I believe the minigun in Predator was actually a real one, just had to be tweaked, and the backpack that goes with it was ammo, not a power source. A little movie slip up is the fact that the ammo feed backback should of been destroyed when the Yautja's plasma bolt hit Jesse Venture and went straight through him.

I thought the backpack was a battery to keep the damn thing spinning? It had to be electric, or something. Or maybe thats just how the prop itself worked.

It operated on an internal chain, the power source isn't that massive, inside the gun itself I believe.

Like I said, the original Predator minigun is not even that large. You can't even see the backpack in this photo, and look how tiny the gun is.

That said, I recheck it and yeah, the backpack is an ammo container.

Ha ha...[/sarcasm]

You'd be surprised how many people don't know that, Robert..I'm sick of people whining about banning automatic firearms, especially most cops.  They of all people should know that about automatic rifles vs. a sniper rifle, but they don't.  Some of them know and acknowledge this, but most of them refuse to acknowledge it.  Guess those cops are too lazy to use a sniper rifle.

It's not a question of politics as it is statistics, and fact: a sniper with a sniper rifle beats a gunman armed with an automatic rifle.

An armed gunman with an automatic weapon is much more dangerous to a crowd of people, which is where most gun crimes happen at (eg schools).

That said, I support automatic weapons, so whatever.

I forget the exact statistic, but I believe it was over 80% of all murders are done with a knife in the United States, and there is actually a group out there trying to make any and all knives (Including kitchen ones) illegal.

Same with the one used by the Governator in Termiantor 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RbL4PwTDsQ

The firing rate had to be drastically decreased, even when firing with blanks, just so the actors and stuntmen would be able to take the recoil. Add to that the fact that around 25 kg of ammunition alone is needed to fire for around 20 seconds of fire, the battery to drive it (In Predator, Duke had a wire running down one of his pants legs and to a couple of truck batteries off screen.) and that the gun itself isn't exactly lightweigth, the need to use protective gear just to protect yourself from the used cases spouting out of it, and it's as useless a weapon as a slighly sharp tootbrush.

Still love it though. :) Blows the scale on badass factor.

So's a [hidden] sniper (ask the D.C. locals)...

I support automatic weapons too, dude...

Remember: "GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE [WITH MUSTACHES] KILL PEOPLE!"  :P

A quick warning to you guys. If you wish to continue discussion pro-gun or anti-gun beliefs, that fall under politics, and will have to be in a topic on the mature board.

Okay, okay, sorry Asper.

Anyways, I like how this one diver accidentally lost his Glock pistol he had used to shoot at sharks, and 5 years later he found that same Glock when diving, and the thing STILL WORKED.  Sweet!

Taurus has always made some pretty good revolvers...Colt and Glock makes some pretty good semi-autos.
