The M-16 does not overheat .

erm history channel told me and that had an interview with a vietnam solider who used a m16 and they threw oil over it when it keept getting to hot so they threw oil over it to prevent it from over heating and cool it down but that was a mistake.

One of the worst .357 magnum revolvers ever made is the Comanche III.  Made in Argentina, it's a piece of [commie] junk.  Cylinder bind, bad hardware, and many other problems.  Should make for a good throwaway gun (If you airbrush off the serial number and wear gloves when using it.)

One of the best .357 magnum revolvers ever made is the Brazilian manufactured Taurus M605B revolver.  Okay, yes it only fires 5 shots instead of the traditional 6 shots, but it has a million "pro" features that outweigh the "con" features (if any).

As far as I know, it was made during la

Junta Militar - Which means opposite

of 'commie'.

During the time we were at war against

the United Kingdom, so we needed cheaper

weapons, and what is cheaper than making

it yourself?

Oops, you're right, my bad, that was another pistol I was thinking about in terms of "commie".  However, I still hate the Comanche III.

No problemo. It does not counts

as a firearm, but hey, the Exocet

is a great missile.

I've handled an M1 Garande.  Great rifle! :D

As for shotguns, I'm torn between the Mossberg "Persuader" and the Winchester "Defender" pump action shotguns.

I forget the exact statistic, but I believe it was over 80% of all murders are done with a knife in the United States, and there is actually a group out there trying to make any and all knives (Including kitchen ones) illegal.

They're in America too? I know there's a group like that in Britain, sadly enough.

Afraid so...ugh...

Anyhoo,

I like the Colt 1911 better than the .45 Silverballer.  The Silverballer is nice, but the 1911 is excellent!

I believe the Silverballer is a copy of the Colt 1911.

Lawl, we took my sister shooting today (for the first time), and she got to fire my Springfield M1A (She wanted to fire the AK, but we needed to check the M1A's zero, and let me put it this way, at 100 yard, it hit every shot in a target smaller than a human head), my dad's 8mm Mauser, my Mossberg 12 gauge (Just a standard, run of the mill pump), my mom's Beretta M9, and S&W .357 mag (Which holds 7 shots instead of 6, and damned accurate too), and my dad's Colt M1991 (Essentially the 1911, but with a steel look, as opposed to blued steel.)

Also, we happen to own 2 Colts, the M1 Garand, and the Winchester Defender (Known around these areas as the "L.A. Riot Gun")

Looks like we'll go back to the range on Monday, with the AK, the shotgun again (maybe 28 gauge this time), and hopefully my H&K USP.

A gun here, a gun there, and eventually you wind up with over 20 of em.

Also, we're going to break out the reloading gear and actually start it (Not sure if I said that, running on 3 hours sleep and adrenaline)

So, Vydrach, you think the Mossberg Persuader, or the Winchester Defender is better?

I personally wanna get a Winchester Defender.

How did I not find this topic earlier? XD

Admittedly, a lot of my experience with modern weapons is through Airsoft (not the backyard bullshit, I'm talking w/ US Military Veterans and modern tactics over 100+ acres of land >.>) Though my good friend in the 82nd Airborne has gotten me acquainted with a lot more, and I just joined the NRA this year. As far as the first weapon I'd like to get.... I'd have to say I really want an Armalite. (18 would be nice, but at this point I don't see them on the market as much as they used to be).

My friend has (among other things) a 1911, M14, and MP5 (all of those are in my top list as well tbh...)

As you'll notice if you backtrack a bit, I'm not a big fan of the AR's, even Armalites (Speaking of which, nearly everyone had ARs at the range, and one idiot was trying to hit a target at 100 yards with no sights on his, at all. And he tried hip firing it *Which is an even dumber thing to do, as you fire from the ready at worst, not the hip* and came even closer to hitting every other target except his).

Lucky!

If by Persuader you mean the Mossberg 500 series, then we have one of those too (My mom's shotgun is a Mossberg 590 with the minimum length barrel to be legal, heatshield, and a stock that holds 4 more shotgun shells.)

Between that and my dad's Winchester Defender though, I prefer the Defender with it's fiber-optic front sight, and recoil assisted pump (Making it nearly semi-auto). Also, just the nickname "L.A. Riot Gun" says it all.

That's fine (and yes, that is pretty stupid XD) I prefer it more because of my Irish roots than because of function. If I want function and efficiency I'll hit the M14 at DMR range or a G36 at more regular range. (I do enjoy the MP5 (A4 on occasion) for CQC as well.

Me too!

I sometimes wish that laser and hyper-laser (a machine gun version of a laser) guns were invented.

So I was just remembering how my Ruger P90 pistol looks similar to the one in the game Aliens vs. Predator 2.

rugerp90.jpg

That is a Ruger P90. God I love that pistol, reliable, effective, and decently accurate for a pistol.

avp2marinepistol.jpgmarineweapon06.jpg

That's the M4-A4 pistol from AVP2 (Really wish I could find a side image of one)

Actually, found this GMod screen shot, showing the Marine and Predator weapons from AVP2.

b0128188073920.jpg

I really loved what some of the weapons in AvP2 looked like, such as that sniper rifle, looks to me like a heavily modified WA-2000, and the shotgun, when you hold it, looks just like my mom's Mossberg 590, the "Persuader" as Julius calls it.

If there is one thing I absolutely must shoot, it's a barret .50. Just to say I've shot one. lol To be serious thoug, gonna be going to the gun range with my grandpa and girlfriend too. He's gonna bring his original model garand. :DDDDDDD As far as assault rifles though, anyone checked out the Masada/Bushmaster ACR yet?

Nothing terribly groundbreaking about it, the complete ergonomic and ambidextrous features are nice, but interchangeability to switch calibers is not a new idea.

It's more of the bragging rights with my friends that I fired a very big gun. XD other than that, it's just a nice gun that firs a large bullet. Now an aa-12 would be fun. :D

I prefer the Daewoo Industries USAS-12 myself. Looks more intimidating.

I might like to have a Sig Sauer P229 (compact version of the P226)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sig_Sauer_P229

with .357 SIG rounds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.357_SIG

Screw the .357 SIG rounds, I'll just use .40 or 9mm rounds.  Cheaper.

I'd like to give a personal review of the P90. Actually i'd just like to say it has a lot more kick then I thought for an smg. A 5.7 is a pretty decnt size. Full auto would be crazy muzzle rise.
