Just a quick question, Tomas:

What type of music are you planning on putting into this game?  Music similar to the Starfox franchise or a mixture Starfox and new generation music?

Bit of both. Most of it will be orchestral music. But there will be the occasional mix of genre. I don't plan to use music with lyrics like the Devil May Cry theme song.

Ahh, gotcha.  I was thinking something more on the line of this, but it's a little heavy and evil for a Starfox game. :|  (My wishes for a metal song to be in a Starfox game may never come true T_T)

Wait, wait...could you tell me exactly is Paths of Fate?  Until now I thought it was maybe the announced title of Star Fox Wii or something.  But I think I'm having a flaky hour.

Oh, and what do you think of my new signature? :3

The original Star Fox soundtrack had a bit of metal. o.o Especially some of the boss themes.

I don't necessarily recall Starfox 64 having any metal songs in them.  The only one that came close was in Starfox Adventures inside the Great Fox whenever Slippy is fixing R.O.B and in the ending credits---it was thrash metal.

Ahh, myopia. ^_^

No, I'm talking about Star Fox for SNES in 1993.  Star Fox 64, in 1997, was the third Star Fox game.

Well, here are some examples of music I plan to use. I plan to use it for Angelo's boss theme (a purple fox who's also a kung fu expert, if the votes continue allowing the ground-based combat)

Whereas this is planned to be Jack's boss theme.

He's just giving examples of theme songs he may be using for two of the boss's he has given out so far.

Alright, I couldn't help but notice someone voted "The project will fail"

I'd like to know why that person thinks so. I'm not complaining. I just want some input as to why you (whoever you are) believe so.

i don't think it will fail

Then you don't deserve to know.

How many languages do you know not only to speak, but write?

Back on topic, I would vote it will fail, but instead I vote for something else. A release. A consistant direction. Above all. A PLAN!!!

Seriously, when it comes to modding, you have made more progress then I have so far. (That said, I am a coder in the making and an animator with no tools) but dude.

There is a reason Kursed and PoF have been ignored by the modding community, and why we are doubtful for it's success. They have no creative direction or originality. As a MAx Payne 2 mod you were almost there. You had video of your concepts working in game. Assets were done and despite being a bit slap dash, it seemed to be going somewhere. Then you removed all the SF stuff, and then binned it all and moved to source. Kursed did the old wall of text and a concept art bit followed by absolutly nothing.

TL:DR? Your making it up as you go. You need a consistant plan for the games major themes and ideas. The minor details can come later.

So, what I recommend. Pick the major features you game will include. Get those working, even in a primative fasion, in game. While you're working on those you can iron out the major balence and storyline issues. Once you have a working prototype and a rough plan, show us where you are going.

How to do it.

How NOT to do it.

Well, I DO have a story plan, so I'm not completely lost, there.

It's mostly down to gameplay that I don't have plans for. I would go for the same style the Max Payne 2 version of PoF used, but I received mixed comments about it. And I would just like to know what kind people would actually like to see. Since most of the votes are going for a balance of various types of gameplay, I'll go with that.

Melee combat,

So yeah i'd like to see plenty of on-foot gameplay. Some flying wouldn't hurt either.

So it's going to be in third-person like in the trailers, Tomas?  If you were to make updates to the third-person view, would you recommend looking at God of War 3's brief over the shoulder view whenever Kratos is helping Pandora?

Also, will there be any kind of gore in the game?  For example, blood, broken bones, etc etc.

i'm guessing it's going to be like half-life 2 para.

I liked the look of the acrobatic's and the uses of guns for the Max Payne version, But it lacked combo's for the swords a staff's in the trailer that i saw.

It probably be pain in ass to do in source, it would awesome use como's like the gameplay was used in adventures.

I actually found a Staff model for Gmod that might work well with a reskin for a fireshot/Freeze mist Krystal staff.

I was happy with the game play you were doing with the MP2 engine. But it doesn't bother me what direction you play it, so long as the game play is solid and intense I'm happy.
