Like the question says, in an all-out battle, who do YOU think will come out on top? Before you make your choice, let me outline the strengths and weaknesses of each (If you'll notice, I only had the villans of various universes as choices.);

Lylat Federation:

You don't need me to tell you the strengths and weaknesses of this faction, you should already know them (That and I forgot them...).

The Covenant:

They have superior numbers and technology that had the UNSC running for cover. Powerful armor, shields, and weaponry, not to mention the sheer racial diversity of their army. Only problem is, their army fights with a steadily fading faith in the San'shyuum Hierarchs (Halo fans know who I'm talking about,)

Necromongers:

These guys are strong, powerful, and damn-near undead. Their biggest strength is in their numbers. When combined with their heavily-armed and armored fighters and capital ships, makes for deadly swarm attacks. Their problem is, you kill the Lord Marshal, you take control of the Necromongers.

Borg Collective:

WE ARE THE BORG. PREPARE TO BE ASSIMILATED. WE WILL ADD YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR CULTURE WILL ADAPT TO SERVICE US. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! Yeah, the Borg say this to everyone they meet, shortly before they wipe them from existence. I imagine that a battle like this would provide plenty of assimilation opportunities. Their greatest ability is adaptation. Unless you figure something out, once they adapt to your weapons, you're screwed. Their biggest problem is, while they can adapt to energy-based attacks, they can't adapt to physical attacks. In essence: Use a Mass Driver Cannon!!!

Sith Empire:

These guys were once Republic soldiers, turned against their former allies because of their loyalty to the jedi that aided them against the Mandalorians, not the ones who sat back on Dantooine and Coruscant, watching them die. (Assuming Revan returned to the dark side) Their most powerful weapon is the Star Forge. Unfortunately, that is also their biggest weakness. Only the most powerful (Like Revan) can control the Star Forge. So... Kill Revan, the Sith lose control of the Star Forge. Blow up the Star Forge, you cripple the Sith Fleet.

House Harkonnen:

I don't remember much about these guys, aside from the fact that their air power is... iffy... and their Sardaukar Terror troops fight with a near-suicidal disregard for personal safety. I'd have to read the books to get any more detailed than that.

Romulan Star Empire:

An offshoot of the Vulcan race, the Romulans are... a bit violent, butdevious and clever nonetheless. Their D'derridex-class warbirds are over 1300 meters long, and their Noxerian Warbirds are smaller, but better. Their strength lies in their devious ways of stealth and espionage. Their weakness, however, is the fragileness of their ships, being designed more for stealth rather than combat.

Cardassian Union:

I'd have to do some research on these guys before I can tell you anything. (PM me if you have useful info.)

Galactic Empire:

Like the Sith, the Empire was once the Galactic Republic, until Emperor Palpatine rose up and took power, seducing young Anakin Skywalker to the Dark side and naming him Darth Vader. THe Empire's biggest strength lies in their numbers. 1600-meter-long Star Destroyers, swarms of TIE fighters, and armies of Stormtroopers make them a force to be reckoned with. I'll let someone else figure out the weakness...

Kemorainian Empire:

I know some of you have heard about my Kemorainian friends, but for those of you who don't, let me give you some background; The Kemorainians are a Serpentine species that (before the reformation of their empire) was religiously dedicated to war. They had conquered a large area of space before they ran into the Dragonarians and were defeated in three wars, known as the Kemoran wars. When their empire reformed, many Kemorainians were unwilling to let go of their genocidally racist religion, and broke away to form the Kemorainian Imperial Remnant. Their strength lies in the sheer diversity of their technology, taken from races across their galaxy. Their weakness is, and a rather obvious one at that, is that their ships and fighters are a bit slow because of alll the weapons and armor crammed on there. A lighter ship with better engines can maneuver into a good angle to get the advantage it needed to win.

Kemorainian Imperial Remnant:

Same Specs as above, but their weakness is their steadily dwindling numbers. The KIR also tends to use guerilla tactics, so watch out.

Klingon Empire:

Before the Khitomer accords, the Klingon Empire was an empire of badasses. Their strength, which, militarily speaking, is also their weakness, is the fact that they fight to the death and never retreat. When they fight, they don't stop until their enemies are dead at their feet, or they're dead themselves.

Species 8472:

They're psychotic, they're psychopathic, paranoid, and even downright malicious! Their cells will eat you alive, and they can disguise themselves as other races! Let's see, can we cram anything else in here? Oh yeah, their technology is BIOLOGICALLY ENGINEERED! They had a fleet so large and powerful, it had the Borg on the run! The strength with these guys is the fact I just stated about their technology. Their weakness is the fact that while they may be near- impervious to conventional technology, they aren't totally immune to biological weaponry (Thalaron Radiation, for instance).

Well... Take your pick.

I don't really know enough about all these factions to make out a proper decision. The only one I know about quite well are Lylat and the Star Wars empires, and of those, Lylats forces would be eaten alive, while the Galactic Empire besting Revans Sith Empire due to far greater numbers and more advanced technology.

Hnh... well-said. The ones I think would come out on top is the Borg, and Species 8472. Borg because they can adapt to various weapons and assimilate all others (Except the latter aforementioned race), and Species 8472 because they simply pwn all with their swarms and biological tech. I agree. Lylat doesn't stand a chance.

Care to give your reasoning? From my perspective, Lylat isn't at very good odds, right now... not with the Borg and Species 8472 in the field.

I was being serious. And NO, not everyone would surrender themselves to Krystal, *especially* not the Borg OR Species 8472. The former share no feelings for other races, not even Cerinians, while the latter is a race of psychopaths that hate everyone. If the latter even got their hands on Krystal, they'd rip her to shreds or just wound her and let their infectuous cells do the dirty work for them.

i have to say i think the covenant would win, massive firepower advantage and if its not going perfect they could always just glass a planet. they would likely even defeat the borg due totheir use of both energy and physical weaponry

... I had no idea that the Covenant used Physical weaponry. Could you specify?

the brutes weild small submachine guns capable of firing small spikes and the grunts have those pink guns that fire exploding spikes which cause physical aswell as energy damage. the elite guards also weild staffs for hand to hand attacks [though i dont remember them using them in combat in the game]

I choose Lylat. Let's be reasonable,

if compared to bad guys, Lylat are good ones

(not counting Andross's forces...) and as far

as we know, bad guys -Borg included- are ultimately

defeated. The other reason is because I like mostly

Lylat from all of those.

And lastly, well, I do not know much about the others.

Sure, I 'bits' of the Borg, the Species 8472, Sith Empire of Revan,

and such, but that is it. Consider my vote mostly a...

'who I support'.

Being quite the expert on Star Trek I'd have to say Species 8472, they kicked the crap of the Borg in Voyager.

And of all the poll options where is the United Federation of Planets? You know, the "good guys" of the Star Trek Universe?  Unless you didn't include them because technically the Federation is spread over 8,000 light years with hundreds of different species and thus not a single "race"?

No. But might create cures for such.

Frankly, I just voted the one I 'would like

to be the victor'. That is it.

I would have voted Galactic Empire, but I like the Rebels better, plus Star Fox is very good, so I pick SF

HAHA!

Seriousness in softcore science fiction. That's cute.

I want to vote the Empire, but they got their asses kicked by rednecks with outdated junke fighters and civilian transports, so yeah. Really, all the choices suck, because all the badguys get beaten by goodguys, and the goodguys define compeltely pathetic (hello, Federation from Star trek).

True ending: gnosis appear, everyone dies because noone has phase-transfer based technology so nothing can even pysically touch them right. The end.

look at the type of forum ure on, im sure most ppl would have at least watched some star trek.

I still think the covenant would win, theyve got the most varied firearms and technology out of all the enemies, plus they didnt technically lose... least they havent yet, they have destroyed large sections of earth, and even fired one of the halos (though masterchief turned it off again)

Saber Class... Warbird... Bird Of Prey, and that...

For me, this comes down to Covenant V Sith, as those dark jedi could really put a spanner in the covenant works, but then elites can turn invisable and fly around on jet packs.

On the weapons thing earlyer. It depends where in the time line your picking from. Between Halo 1 and 2, they addopted sniper rifles to counter human snipers.

Not included here, but the flood are quite devastating.

Thing is though, Lylat, and the metroid federation, are depicted as being pretty much usless. The covenant devistate countless worlds before the humans realised secrecy was their biggest advantage. The sith also kicked various flavours of arse.
