Oh I'm sorry, I read it as Star Fox, not Star Trek. What did you read it as?

majority of ppl who like star fox are likely to enjoy other types of sci fi. im sure even you can agree with that bit. as star trek is the largest when it comes to sci fi it is also reasonable to assume most ppl here have at least a basic understanding of it.

as for the halo bit the covenant sniper rifles r energy based, thats why i didnt include them as they would be useless against the borg

My point was that they change throughout the lore. Sniper rifle was just a basic example of that. For example, they addopt energy/physical combo with exturnal amunition in the form of the carbine. They have mid range needler rifles and more explosive type weapons early on, but go down the road of energy weapons later. Most rank and file inf use plasma pistols for the most part, with the superior-to-human units having a more varied arsnal. There's also the case of armour v shields too. Brutes would seriously mess up the borg, elites would be able to go toe-to-toe with jedi, but it would be a close match.

V Lylat, Conventant would win easy.

yep have to agree with you there, and i think jedi vs elites would be very interesting.

Okay, maybe I should rephrase the poll question. If Lylat faced any one race mentioned above, who do you think would win (For instance, Lylat vs. Species 8472, or Lylat vs. the Covenant)?

I/We get it. Most of them would completly destroy lylat, but which would be best at it or v each other is interesting. Of the ones I know well, they would all destory lylat because I tend to forget crap villains/armies. Megabyte > most tv villains because he acctually wins, and quite often. At the start he already has a section of city under control, and later managers to kill the hero (late spoiler warning for 2 decade old series)

Covenant have compairable tech, above human power levels and almost inexhausable numbers.

The Sith have dark jedi, so no competition there.

Borg can obsorb energy weapons iirc. Thus Lylat is doomed.

I only know dune from the games. Ordos are the boys to look out for imo.

I'm not a big fan of Star Trek, so most I dont know well enough.

Quick note to you Sabre, I don't think the Sith Empire under Revan/Malak did have that many fully trained Sith under their command. Sure, a dark jedi or two there was, but not many, and not very powerfull. Siths have a tendency to think they would make better rulers than their superiors.

The Galactic Empire I think would be a better bet there.

Well, I'm somewhat into Sci-fi, and definatively into StarFox, but I've still never watched anything from Star Trek. (With the exception of the hilarious clip from "Worlds worst fight scene" on Youtube.) :P

To be honest, Sabre, Ordos are the weakest

of all hourses. The ones Star_Dragon should have

named were the Sardaukar - The Emperor Soldiers.

A ground of troopers is as thought as a tank...

Althrough you can still roll over them.

Harkonnen has big guns, but lacks basic equipment,

e.g.: Trikes/infantry.

Ordos in contrast has a weaker Trike, no super-weapon

and their special weapon converts enemies temporarily.

Their campaing was the hardest for me; but if they existed,

they would easily be squashed in the battlefield. (Sure, they

can use spies, ect. But in real battle that is nearly to useless).

well i wouldn't exactly count Lylat as the weakest. Nintendo Really didn't give to much info on they're weapons and vehicles, i used to think the same Way for the Galactic Federation until i played Metroid Prime 3. It pretty much cleared up everything that i was wondering.

True, but they have the forbiden tech, and would destry the war effort before it even got off the ground.

Right, but much like SF, they can't handle so much as the peons and 1 boss can take out most of them. In SFA, fox leads the counter attack of the city single handedly, on foot.

That is partially correct.

However, taken to the actual battlefield,

the other houses have a greater chance.

I would say the Mercenary instead. They are

a kind of Ordos/Harkonnen tech mixture.

Or the Freeman. They are allied with the Atreides

so they can support each other during attacks.

(This does not happens too much in the games but

you can mod it so it happens...)

Sabre have you play metroid prime 3? because if you would known that the galatic federation did take out bosses and i don't think in halo they couldn't do the same.

I don't think we know enough about each civilization, does Lylat have other weaponry than that in the games? An elite force? etc.

Do remember how difficult all the enemy's were on corneria in assault? They may have been controlled by aparoid's, but most of the weapon's and ship's were still cornerian technology.

And Pepper's ship proves that they have some potential k_e_cool.gif

Fair enough. Fremen only kick arse in the desert though.

Yep, played it, was a long time ago. I remember hunters because there were some really groovy guys in that that could go toe to toe with samus. You'll have to jog my memory. My main memory of that game was the clockwork sky town.

In Halo the army is pretty much usless. Even the other spartans don't manage to slow them down. It is also implied that Master Chiefs main skill was luck. At one point in the prequals, I forget when, but the humans realise that cov are really ignorant of humans, and have next to no intel except what they find in dealict ships, so the humans go all secret and that works for a while until the cov accidently bump into earth not realising it's the human homeworld.

I don't think we know enough about each civilization, does Lylat have other weaponry than that in the games? An elite force? etc.

Not that I know of. Most of my intel on the matter comes from the numberous times they got their arses kicked, and the city mission from assault. You basicly have to fight through the possesed cornarian army. they were bad enough to be taken by peons depite having the defence and homeground advantage AND when possessed they are so inept they cant stop 1 pilot with a pistol.

If Ormus got involved, Jin Uzuki would appear from subspace for the sole purpose of dueling Margulis in a giant robot sword fight.

I haven't played Xenogears, sadly enough.

Ontopic, we need more Battlestar Galactica, V, Babylon 5, Sliders, Stargate, Macross, and Space Battleship Yamato.
