Guest Scorpion03
hmmm mines never overheated and i dont think its a common problem so u cant get additional fans for it like u can the 360. best advice is place it away from ure other tech and near the window, or a fan, or aircon unit... anything to help with the temp or air flow of the unit

Mr. Foxer
Are you charging something with it in the USB port? Don't do that. Also make sure that the vent on the back of the console isn't blocked by anything such as dust. Make sure the fan is even running at all. And obviously turn it off when you're not using it. Sabre
Try and leave a 10cm gap at the back if possable.
EazyIN
Mine has this same problem, usually it's a good idea to update your wii and leave it standing up right. If you lay it on the side it over heats a lot more and could ruin your game.
Dublinthefox
I don't have these problems. I have an official Gamestop wii cooler. Its basically a wii stance but it cools the wii with its built-in fan.

Guest Mr. Mario
Turn off your Wii (duh!) and unplug the power cords so that way the Wii doesn't heat up even when its off.

Steve
Read the instructions manual of the wii. It basically nails the basic things you need to do in order to keep your wii in good conditions. Also, sooner or later you will have to go to bed, or eat or do something else, so use that time to turn your wii off. My wii is from the first generation, and I have never encountered problems with it, even after long gaming sessions (10+ hours). The wii can get hot, but that doesn't mean it's going to die. If you are that worried, then buy a cooling system or place a small fan near your wii.

Guest Scorpion03
surely if its that hot u have some way of keeping cool, aircon or whatever so place ure wii near that, after all unlike other consoles the wii does not need line of sight with the console thanks to the sensor strip. ThePointingMan
It's kinda weird, my friend has the same problem, but when he moves to a different plug, it stops happening, it only happens when he plugs it into the plug in the barn, and it works fine in his/my house.
