Sylum
As a prospectivve military person, i just want to say thanks. Today is not about the parties. Today is not about work. Today is not about you. Today is about all of our soldies. Fighting and fallen. They risk their lives so we don't have to. To the fallen, death is an honor but not prefered. A huge thanks to every soldier who ever lived and is living. Thank you.

Most of themwere conscripts, but still, they did what they could.I salute them all.

Asper Sarnoff
While this is originally meant as a day to remember US troops, I'd still like to use the opportunity to thank my grandfather on my mothers side.He had just been enlisted before the second world war broke out, and fought against the german invaders on multiple ocasions as they advanced northwards trough the country. At the battle of Gratangen, the larges battle between Norwegian and German troops fought during the war, he participated. The German troops came under the cover of night and ambushed the Norwegian camp in the bottom of a valley they deemed to be safe. Mortar shells raining over their tents and the sivilian buildings of the valley. They were forced into a fighting retreat. My grandfather got hit by a bullet, and thrown down into the snow. The bullet had hit the chamber of his rifle, which he had held over his chest as he ran for shelter. If it had hit an inch higher up or lower down, I would never have come to be.He later picked up the rifle of a dead comrade, and helped cover the retreat of the main force. He's a hero in my book, like so many other soldiers who have fought for their country and for a good cause. I salute them all.

Mr. Foxer
It's too bad not many people feel the same way towards the armed forces. For god's sake people were sending death threats to some marine who threw a dead puppy off of a cliff.

Steve
Oh man, this is going to become a witch hunt, better be careful with your words, Matt, most people here are proud Americans and they will get pissed off if you are proud of what that man did, assuming you are talking about the same Osama we are all talking.
