psy_commando Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Overall a great game night tonight! I did soo much better than Friday ! And most of the time teams were ok. I guess all that direct hit training on tr_walkway paid off I still have issue at close range though I tried recording the night, but I was too dumb to check the resulting videos between maps, and didn't notice I left the quality settings pretty low. The result is a pixelated nightmare. I got most of the voice chat, (and singing *shivers* ) though. The game action is still visible however, but all the text is unreadable. I'm not sure if its worth uploading or keeping, especially since youtube compression will likely make this vid a big blurry mess. Plus after the game night died out, we played some MvM, and it was pretty neat too. I got a better recording this time :3 Not sure if I should upload it either, I might just upload the first game on Mannworks. Unless someone has any objections, since I forgot to say I was recording >_< I managed to record most of tonight, tomorrow I'll try and compress the file sizes and upload them to Youtube Did you get the hud, text chat, and voice chat too ? I think you said you used the demo recorder, right ? Though I must admit, the random singing , yelling and everyone talking nonsense on the beginning was annoying. I completely agree. Seriously, why are people even singing while playing a game ? :S Nobody cares or want to hear your horrible singing, geez. If you want to sing get yourself a karaoke or rock band or something. Constant all-talk, mic spam not only allowed but encouraged (to the point people get cranky if someone isn't playing music), and singing along isn't a rare occurrence. Hell, had Eurobeat Brony in there once singing songs. Honestly, all this hullabaloo about people having fun. It's just like when I was playing Hoovy yesterday. So much complaining, never mind the fact that I stopped healing up with Sandvich after the first round of complaints, so when I'm at 1/3 health and a soldier jumps around the corner, fires 4 rockets and deals all of 0 damage, or an engineer runs around and fires all 6 shotgun shells and only gets a glancing hit with one of them, the complaints of, "Uhmahgerd, stop being Heavy" were hilarious. I don't think is was the open mics as much as Ajc telling us to be quiet, which we replied to with louder more obnoxious singing and spam. Atleast with my ussual ping of 100 i can see whats occuring. I am simply stating why some people spammed through a mic on the server. Sorry if I came across as a dick. I do that sometimes without knowing. But maybe the later was giving you guys too much credits Oh and I didn't mind people talking all the time about random things, just the singing, its really creeping me out for some reasons. Is it really necessary anyways? Anyways, I'm gonna do a mashup of our amateur singers I guess, maybe other people will feel the pain then ! Plus, just another thing : "one man's liberty ends where another man's liberty begins". "User" Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 I got the first round of badwater up but there were a few things I could have did differently such as keeping the TF2 window active when recording with Fraps (otherwise no sound), not using the console so much, and keeping steam chat sounds to a minimum. It didn't seem to record my voice as well. The first 2-3 minutes will have some sections of missing sound and prolonged console windows but I'll know for recording next time. Also did you try "voice_loopback 1" in the console, to hear yourself ? I heard it works, but I also heard it doesn't :S This was last night was it not? Please tell me you didn't upload the cheesy conversations that started once I came in Maybe, but I doubt I'll upload those parts anyways, the video aren't really worth uploading given the quality :S Well unless anybody is interested in seeing them. @Vydrach: Well then if its that bad, I think you're right. I only have that many files mainly because since this was my first time doing this I didn't want to risk messing anything up. For future game nights I'll have one file per map that we play and maybe use Windows Movie Maker to combine all the Mp4 files into one, or would you rather have one video per map? In the meantime, here is my third demo. It's round 4 of badwater. I tried changing some things to make it look better, let me know what you think. Vy'drach Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 It's more recordings of a guy who imitates him perfectly talking about some horribly deranged, sometimes racist things, probably the worst is him reading a horrible, adult Adventure Time "fanfic," that while technically against the server rules, is too damned funny for anyone to care about that on. Though there is one where he talks about his love of Twilight Sparkle and how if he didn't get to enjoy his colourful, magical equines, he would simply die. In fact, I managed to find one, probably my favourite. It or the one where he kills the old lady for her toaster. *WARNING* It's slightly racist, though nothing bad is really said, except Duke saying he doesn't like black people. I can tell you, TF2 gets real interesting when the entire server is cracking up due to these things. Stray rockets and bullets everywhere as it's hard to aim when you're doubled over in laughter.
