Robert Monroe
Really, we need to clean out the map rotation as a whole. The nominate list is really small and doesn't have all the maps we have, and furthermore, maps like Dustbowl and Badwater Basin need to be retired for a few weeks entirely. Hydro and Meridian should be part of the rotation ALL THE TIME. What happened to CP_Obscure, CP_Titan, CP_Glacier, CP_Power, and many more, too? Robert Monroe
Addenum: This here link has a lot of damn custom maps I think would make our server shine. http://humbugtheman.com/TheBUE/Maps.htm
Icy
Yeah, I vote in favor of all this! Meridian would be awesome. Hydro is… okay… I didn't like it at first but now I kind of like it. And Yesyesyesyesyes @ Rob's link. They all look great.
Robert Monroe
To be fair, we already have some of those maps (Cashworks, Swiftwater, Impulse, Waste), but having the whole set would just be wonderful. At the least, we could use their CP/AD/KOTH maps, because we always need more of those. Speaking of KOTH, we STILL haven't added the vanilla KOTH maps to our rotations, either. LoneWolf
Those look really good. What I would really like is some of the KOTH maps, though. KOTH is fun.
Milkyway64
To say nothing of the ctf. I like CTF, but most of the stock CTF maps are turtle fests/ death matches where neither team can really get a foothold in the game.
Robert Monroe
All this support for my taste in custom maps makes me so happy To say nothing of the ctf. I like CTF, but most of the stock CTF maps are turtle fests/ death matches where neither team can really get a foothold in the game. Eh, I like the defense-heavy nature of CTF. It gives Engineers something to do without having to go GUNSLINGAN and NINJANEERAN all the time, and it actually forces the teams to work together to get something done. Lone rangers can't just jump in and do everything. That said, the two CTF maps we play a lot (Turbine and Doublecross) are much more turtely than say, Sawmill. We should get some CTF Sawmill in here. But yeah.
Milkyway64
Hall of Death and Chaos are also what I mean. Hall of death is just dumb, and chaos is really, really hard to infiltrate in. The intel is PAST the enemy spawns, so the only way in without fighting some enemies twice is through the top.

Chaos forces you to take the upstairs route to get anywhere, which while not bad, is kinda lame because that means there is a lack of alternate paths to take. What I enjoy about even Turbine (and moreso ProTurbine) and Doublecross is there are a ton of ways to get into the enemy base to get the intel. Chaos is just a deathfield with an upstairs passage. Both Hall of Death and Chaos should gtfo the server and be replaced with these snazzy new maps. Most of these maps anyway are actually a custom game mode where you capture a neutral intel anyway. DZComposer
I agree, we're playing the same maps too much. We have some 70 maps on the server, excluding dupe versions and arena maps. tc_meridian was never on the server. I may add some more maps, but I first want to make sure any more maps I add will actually get played. WE have 70+ maps on the server, yet only like 6 of them ever get played. Until this problem is solved, adding more maps will be a fruitless exercise. Especially when everyone votes for freaking Dustbowl and Mountian Lab every night. I'm looking for plugins to help here. Something that weights the appearance of maps on the votelist based on when they were last played would be nice. EDIT: Thoughts on this one? http://forums.allied...0&highlight=map I really like how it can weight based on playercount. No more 2v2 CTF!
Robert Monroe
DZ, Step 1: Remove the popular overplayed maps from the list for a while. Step 2: Make map rotations change around every few weeks. That way instead of just having some 70+ maps all at once, we have maybe 10-20 maps to pick from that randomize every week or two. Step 3: Make sure all the maps we have can be voted and played on. I know for a fact when I go to the !nominate list, I don't see 70 maps in all. Step 2 is the most important, I feel. When we have a huge open selection always available, people will just pick what they're comfortable with. When you force them to change it up by giving them limited selection, they'll expand their horizons more. That said I feel TC_Hydro and TC_Meridian should always be a part of any line up because they're the only TC maps ever.
DZComposer
This new plugin will help. I will weight the overplayed ones down so they are less likely to appear in votes. There will also be runoffs if a map doesn't get a majority of votes. The maps are arranged in groups, and I can control how many maps are in each group. Here is the current groups: 1. Stock Push (5CP, PLR, KOTH) - 1 map per vote 2. Stock A/D (A/D, PL, TC) - 1 map per vote 3. Stock CTF (CTF) - 1 map per vote 4. Cust Push (5CP, PLR, KOTH, 5PL) - 2 maps per vote 5. Cust A/D (A/D, PL, TC) - 2 maps per vote 6. Cust CTF (CTF) - 1 map per vote 7. Novelty (Minepit, Pipeball, Etc.) - Must nominate 8. Halloween - Disabled unless Halloween

The Shaper
Oh my god..... On Egypt and Gorge..... so much fun... I love you guys. Tonight was a great game I must say. I had plenty of fun, talked to a few older server members, got 3000 points, and I discovered a new rivalry with CappnRob and General Milky. Firebug
Tonight's game was so fun that I finally decided to register instead of just lurking like I've done for the past couple months. Learned of Milky's rage towards me and got to try out my new headset. All in all a good night. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Icy
Yeah, tonight was exactly what every night should be. Perfect fun. My favorite times were on Badlands, Cashworks, and Gravel Pit. (I <3 Gravel Pit) Everyone was friendly, nice, happy, played well and all. I am now Pyro/Soldier/Sniper. Everyone had a mic tonight, seriously. I wanted to join in but it just wouldn't have worked. Computer being in the living room = . And OMG FIREBUG ON SFO. O_o
