Milkyway64
mabye we can have more then 12 people sign up, that'd make up for a lack of players Moreover, we just need to fight other teams rather than ourselves.
Scourge
I'm back did anyone miss me, well maybe not, okay did anyone miss dominating me. I thought one of our more quiet members were missing! Welcome back buddy! Moreover, we just need to fight other teams rather than ourselves. And yeah, Milk's got a point there, we all know each other's combat patterns and a basic understanding of each others intelligence. Fighting the same people over and over again just breeds complacency, we need some new targets, and I'm not sure pubbies are going to do it... Thu'um
they smashed horribly, but thats kinda what we need. They worked well as a team. Some friendly competetion could of be benefitial to us both.
Firebug
I'm in favor of both competitive games and SF-O vs <insert community here> games. Would prefer highlander. ZDMC is a little out of the commission at the moment. I could probably talk some buddies of mine into forming a team if you want a challenge. Bragging aside, we're a tough bunch.
Gene Inari
I'm leaning towards a SF-O Highlander team. I'm not a fan of the regular 6v6. I *could* be our 9v9 Medic, but I'm quite unfamilar with Comp TF2 in general.
Milkyway64
Seeing as Rob would take engie, that sounds nice. And ZDMC is pretty much SFO as well. We hang together enough that there's little discernable difference.
The Shaper
And ZDMC is pretty much SFO as well. We hang together enough that there's little discernable difference. From what you've seen at least. Out of the 28 members, only about 5 or so actually have some connection with SF-O.
Robert Monroe
BUT THEM 5 ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST. But yeah, I also prefer me some 9v9 over 6v6. If we do 6v6, I'll go Medic, I suppose, but eh. I prefer highlandergineer I wonder how well Ninjaneer works in comp games....
thunderflare
We can always use more Medics, gotta combat against having too many Spies and Snipers on your team. I would like to join in on one of these games if you guys ever need me, just tell me where and when. ;)
"User"
Milky is right. Going up against other teams would be our best bet, whether it`s 6 v 6 or 9 v 9. I'd like to think the attendance issues against other teams could be solved by keeping one or two backups right before the game starts. I don't know much about where to look for competitive play and going about the whole ordeal so I was hopeful someone who take it upon themselves to do some research. Scourge
What'd be perfect is if we could find another site/clan thats composed of fanboys of yet another nintendo franchise, just for teh lulz! :troll:

Thu'um
Alright, alright 9v9 is our better choice, buts lets get this in mottion. I will also have to find another class, i can't out soilder milky or 0-
Icy
If we're doing Highlander, the only classes I consider myself good enough at are Pyro and Sniper. 6v6… I'd probably do more harm than good. But eh, I could do Scout/Medic/Demo if needed. Just saying to not count on me to carry the team in 6v6. Also, guys, I really don't think any of us are really going to stand a chance at real, tough, competitive players. [Most of us] We're just not that serious. "User"
Also, guys, I really don't think any of us are really going to stand a chance at real, tough, competitive players. [Most of us] We're just not that serious. Well it depends on what your motivation is. Is it to get better and try and utilize higher levels of teamwork and have fun doing so? Or is it just to win? Personally I just want to get better, I know I'll get blown away time and time again at high levels of play but that is what makes a player stronger - getting beat down for long periods of time. I've been there and done that over a period of years doing something else that surprisingly has a long of analogies with competitive TF2. Competitive gaming is not for everyone but it wouldn't hurt to at least give it a shot.
Milkyway64
I have my doubts I'll ever get to a level that is truly good. I just want the excitement, and to be faced with enemies I can truly be afraid of and fully motivated to conquer. And I wanna do it -with- my friends. I want to be able to feel that adrenaline and then talk to my beloved teammates about it and feel genuinely proud of their performance, because goddammit -I love you guys.-
Gene Inari
Agreed. I want to get out there, have fun and play against people that are better than me and hope I can pick up a trick or two from them. Hell, I've learned everything I know about TF2 from you guys: I've pretty much taken up the Medic mantle from Rob and taken a few Engie tricks from him too; and I'm a full-fledged pupil of "The General" Milky. We're not top-level comp and I doubt we really intend to aim that high, but I think we have definate underdog potential.
Thu'um
another question, would we have an A team and B team? and how do we determine who is what class?
Gene Inari
Depends on how many 'sign-up' for the team(s). So far everyone is just sticking with what they do best as. Might also be prudent to make a seperate thread for comp talks or bump the old one that's sitting a page back
