Do you own fire arms?

Vy'drach

Do you happen to own any firearms? (Note, this is for actual fire arms, not airsoft, paintball, or BB guns).

Currently we only own an SKS rifle and a Mossberg 500 shotgun. We have owned previously a 1911 pistol, an AK47, some bigass remington hunting rifle whose name escapes me, and a .380 pistol.

What I'd really like to own though is a Chinese type 17, but they are expensive as all hell.

That would be right, it's a cultural difference in my case.  I suppose there are some uses for guns, but they're......terrible.  They create death so easily and so suddenly, and so very violently.  They make me very uneasy.  I don't like having them around...

The same can be said of swords, rocks, and sharp sticks, too, and the comparison to nuclear weapons is outright balmy, cultural differences or not. Conventional weapons at least have some pratical application (self defense, hunting), all nuclear weapons are good for is Mutually Assured Destruction.

I shoot things, inanimate things. Shoot at paper targets, and clay pigeons. Also, the noise should always startle you, since you shouldn't be even thinking about it when you are squeezing the trigger.

As I said before, I depise the use of

weapons for any harmfull nature. (Exept

when shooting back at criminals, because the

idiots deserve it, but only if they are foolish

enought to start a fire-fight).

Recreational shooting is perfectly fine.

In fact, you do not need real bullets to do that,

so even if it is missused the damage is way less.

I am a member of the NRA and will buy some when I have the money. I also support legislation to make them more legalized in places like Ireland, where I am actively involved in 32CSM and RA politics.

I'd like an M1 Garand, too bad that'll never happen.

Yeah, the M1 Garand *ping* is truely classic.  I think Springfield Armory re-manufactures them under a different name for civilians, just like they did with the M14.  M14=Civilian M1A

Yeah, I own two.

My left arm is named bazooka and my right arm is called Nuke.

No, I don't own any but it would be cool to own a rifle. Any would be fine, but preferably a sniper.

Why will that never happen? M1 Garands tend to be cheap and common (Granted they are WWII refurbished, but they work fine). Or are you in a location that they are illegal in?

Well I live in the city and I don't plan on moving out to the country any time soon so possibly, but not for a while.

Why wouldn't you be able to own one in the city?

I haven't really looked into it but even though I can own a rifle, as far as I know there are no shooting ranges here, why own a rifle if I can't fire it eh? I heard the ammunition costs a lot too. Yeah I know very pessimistic but what can I say?

For the range, you just find one nearby that you can drive to now and again, and 30-06 rounds aren't that expensive for paper target shooting, just get a 20 round box of 150 or 180 grains for less than 20 bucks.

I got a buddy who lives in Washington State (freedom!) who has an FFL license, and an M3 license, and because of that he can own an automatic rifle (which he owns, along with some submachine guns and machine pistols)

I would not like to own a firearm, and my future decision to get a license to own one will depend on my home location. I'd rather learn self defense before having a gun, even if it's not as effective to stop crazy people.

I'd like to own a Sig Sauer P229, chambered for either .40 S & W rounds, or 9mm (9 x 19) Parabellum Rounds.
