It has begun!

Here is this year's list of names:

Alex, Bonnie, Colin, Danielle, Earl, Fiona, Gaston, Hermine, Igor, Julia, Karl, Lisa, Matthew, Nicole, Otto, Paula, Richard, Shary, Tomas, Virginie, Walter

And if we have more than 21 named storms and we run out of names like we did in 2005...

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu, Nu, Xi, Omicron, Pi, Rho, Sigma, Tau, Upsilon, Phi, Chi, Psi, Omega

Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I honestly hope that none happen, because if a hurricane does come through, god knows what it'll do to that oil-spill going on down in the Gulf of Mexico.

Gosh, that hurricane season of, 06' was it?, was HORRIBLE!! We got hit day after day.  At the time I was living in Georgia, and the storms didn't lighten up too much after they hit Florida.  Not living down South anymore (unfortunately) but at least I won't have to worry about hurricanes now! :D

Um...NY is still on the coast >.>

I heard that only stronger hurricanes can make it through the waters up here, but I'm not entirely sure. :D

NCfag here. Haven't had a good hurricane since probably 2006, I think. I always laugh when people get scared over them, when hurricanes are really only dangerous if you live near either the Gulf of Mexico, or on the beach. I live about 60 or so miles inland, so all I ever get is tree limbs, a ton of rain, and no power.

Took the words right out of mouth. And, considering the relief well they are drilling won't be completed until August, if all other attempts to stop this in the meantime fail then this has the potential to get really nasty, even on the east coast.

I was in Orlando that year the week before one of those massive hurricanes hit central Florida.  I got the hell out of that state a day before Orlando took the main brunt of it.

Lets just say the plane ticket was considerably pricey since I only...you know...bought it the day before I left.  And after I left I found out they closed the airport for a week or so

Why is everyone saying the 2006 season was so bad?  It ended up being below average.

I think everyone is thinking of either 2004 when four major hurricanes hit Florida or 2005 when we ran out of letters.
