Dermot
I just realized...with Vivian the writers pulled another play on words, like back when they introduced Fox's mother as "Vixy" (vixen = female fox).Vivian is from the Latin name Viviana, which means "alive". "Peppy" means "lively".It was very subtle, and it takes someone with some linguistics studies to figure it out.

Also, remember that Vixy's maiden name was Reinard, which is based on the French word for fox, Renard, due to a popular book in the.... I forget which century, but it detailed the adventures of a fox named Reynard. Her last name comes from the "Reynard Cycle", a medieval French book about the adventures of a clever fox named Reynard (fr: Renart) and that was so popular in the Middle Ages that it gave its name to the animal (French for fox is renard, formerly goupil.) Samantha Weltzin
Huh. I -am- a linguistics guy, and I never noticed that. Vixy Reinard, yes, but not Vivian/Peppy.I guess I just wasn't interested enough in her to really pay attention. :P
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
I find it interesting to hear the etymology behind names. Vivian=Vivir ("To live" in spanish. How I connected Vivian and Life) I'm not so keen on Latin but it's considered the backbone of all languages.I like the irony behind Vivian though. Guest Julius Quasar
Falco Lombardi is a Latin name for an actual species of Falcon. Bill Grey = General William Grey, from Independence Day, which is what Bill and the Katina level on SF64 are referencing (duh!). General Pepper = The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts"... Asper Sarnoff
Who says the people behind Starfox came up with uncreative names huh!?! Falco Lombardi is a Latin name for an actual species of Falcon. Bill Grey = General William Grey, from Independence Day, which is what Bill and the Katina level on SF64 are referencing (duh!). General Pepper = The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts"...We definatively need a General Pepper emoticon.
