I know it's not necessarily a bigotry issue - I do talk about it a lot.  And I have spoken about other things.  This just happens to be my absolute favorite topic in the series.  I may have the talent, and the intelligence, and the topics.  But I'm also a fanboyish, flirtatious, teasy, gossipy hen.  And that's more than just an issue of what I am capable of - it's an issue of how I tend to be on a regular basis.  If you observe my behavior on FurAffinity, you can see just how much of a hen I am.  It's how I am when I relax and kick back.  We browse art, we fave art, we make comments, and we talk about guys, hunks and gossip until the cows come home.  The reason what you said seemed cruel, is because it's basically asking me not to be myself - not to do what I normally like to do on a daily basis wherever I am, whenever.

Here, I tone it down.  So it's mainly just fanboying and gossip.  I hoped I would at least be allowed that on a regular basis.

You know, I suppose it's also possible I may have a lot of pent up hostility, disdain, suspicion...  I'm a bit Fan Dumb perhaps, with a few brief moments of strong Fan Dumb.  But maybe it's not possible to be in this fandom this long and give so much into it and still be a fan, without going just a little crazy.  I mean, I never wanted to be like those Star Wars fans who still won't forgive George Lucas for The Phantom Menace, or those Trekkers who bicker about Kirk and Picard.  But I guess it's something creeps up on you without you realizing it.

I've felt feelings like this at times as well, why am I here in a forum of people who have opinions that don't match mine? I think it comes down to that you might have an opinion someone actually does agree with, or might go "Huh, that is neat." - Someone might be reading your posts and nodding along with it. But they're just too quiet to voice their opinion. I myself, often find myself agreeing with you and Rob in certain aspects. I don't do it constantly per say, but the fact you all bring up interesting topics is pretty cool. Not to mention your contributions to the Starfox fandom are immense as Rob and many others have stated here.

However you can feel to do whatever you wish even if you do bring in interesting and new perspectives to the community. I myself have no problem with your topics or art, and even agree with you politically on many issues. Do what you feel is best and what you feel most comfortable with.

And yes, I know...  Also, I think I may have subconsciously been trying to rebel against Mr. Krystal and Sabre with defiant displays of gay pride.  (It is the official month, you know. :3)  I mean, a month ago, I was talking about all sorts of different topics.  Polling, music, food, physics, etc.  (Remember the Lylat System sentient origin debate?)  The Mr. Krystal incident left a lingering bad taste in my mouth that I'm still trying to get rid of (and the details of that Noodle Incident are still classified), and every time Sabre gets on my case for something I just feel more determined to demonstrate how irrelevant his abuse is...which ironically is also me a symptom that his abuse actually did get under my skin.  But what can I say?  I'm really more vulnerable when I'm trying to unwind, which is exactly what I've been trying to do since I got here.

It was very different being an admin myself.  Everyone looked up to me, for all sorts of things, whether I knew how to help them or not.  Here, I'm just another user, and I'm mostly fascinating as a historical bullet point.  I don't think I ever really had practice just being a user myself, because I was the admin nearly the entire time I was there, and I had dated the previous admin before me.  I've never been a newbie, and so I feel like I've had to go backwards, from starting as an admin to becoming something of a newbie years later.  How does someone even adapt to that?  I feel vast amounts of entitlement - not of superiority, necessarily, but of being...Dermot.  Because Dermot isn't just who I am - Dermot is also who and what I was.  "Ask Dermot."  "It's up to Dermot."  "Dermot would know."  "Dermot, can you help us?"  To be Dermot meant to be the leader of the fans.  And that was never really something I expected to happen, but when it did, I realized it was something thrust upon me.  And when I stepped down, everyone seemed in disarray.

I'm going through a similar thing with the Krystal Board. Because that's gone I don't really have anything much to talk about here. Anyway, I find the idea of the manliest character in Starfox being gay amusing. I wonder were that leaves Peppy? I get it though, Falco is like the male version of Krystal. Just without the split personality going on. In terms of the prejudices, when we got our contract this week there is a stuff up that explains that "Cut left arm alive off racist" (Who the hell translated this?) So we have to get a racist, cut off their left arm, and ensure both parts remain "alive"...? Go figure.

For every bit of discouragement I'm given, I turn around and find someone else giving me just as much encouragement.  I'll try to stay, and continue being myself.  At the same time, I don't want to be your base breaker - Krystal already has that title. XD I get rather nervous whenever a debate over me osmoses beyond my immediate involvement into an argument that seems to involve everyone but me.  It makes me seem more important than I ever expected or predicted, especially at a time when I'm trying to sort through some of my own fan baggage (re: allowing someone else to get under my skin).  And Robert Monroe did have a point that I wasn't diversifying quite enough (though my core interests are still going to be core interests).  Ultimately I would much rather unite people than divide them.  I can't please everyone (I know that), but I'd usually prefer such disagreements to remain bilateral instead of multilateral.
