Robert Monroe
Falco wouldn't want us to quarrel. :3Yes he would, Falco is an uncooperative egostistical jerkass with a huge superiority complex who picks fights for fun Now SLIPPY might not want us to fight, but everyone would just tell him to shutup and ignore him. But Falco wouldn't want other people sitting meters away to quarrel when it doesn't involve him. It's just noise and irritant in a confined space, and he's trying to watch a movie dammit. Though someone optimistic like Slippy would want to spin it into Falco genuinely caring. X3

Kid_Cortet
Dermot, if you believe something, keep believing it. I think that the situation, from what I can see, has been blown out of proportion and it's caused a heated debate where people have suffered. I don't think anyone's beliefs should be changed, everyone has the right to their own beliefs, but shoving them in the faces of others just adds fuel to the fire. I don't know who shoved what in whoever's face, but please stop the fighting. i agree....but sadly it is the major war in our world...one side trying to impose their beliefs unto another
Vy'drach
by now everyone is just -ing.....no need to worry xDI would of replied to this sooner, but as I was about to last night, I got quite nauseous, and spent the rest of the evening re-experiencing dinner. Not a fun prospect to think about, I know, but I can assure you it was even less fun for me to experience. My complaint isn't a rant, it's just that, an honest complaint. And for Red, who asked how this started, I couldn't find the original posts, so I will give a rundown, as my memory recalls it. Dermot posted a random fanart thread, and Mr. Krystal didn't like him posting pictures of characters in man-thongs, which I am led to believe that there was more behind the complaint than that. And while I didn't care one way or the other about those images, the complaint itself seems valid enough, as rules state,Clothing should not be too revealing. If a private area is obviously visible through clothing, then don't post it. With female subjects, it's fine to have a little bit of a lump where the nipple is, but it shouldn't be too obvious. Same goes with the male crotch, so long as the shape isn't obvious and it isn't too large. The staff will determine if an image shows too much.and while the pictures didn't bother me, it seemed as though... Panther and Wolf, wasn't it? Anyway, seemed as though they were trying to smuggle an Eastern Diamondback in their man-thongs. Anyway, that was Mr. Krystal's problem, from what I've heard. Mine was that there was a lot of images of the characters making out, and I asked him if he would link the images rather than embed them (especially since the embedded images, back then, took up about the entire page). This lead to several back and forth posts, followed by several PM's, in which I explained that it wasn't picking on him, but that all relationship art was like that, as I had truly not seen relationship art embedded instead of linked until that point, and that it was common practice to do so. This led to DZ likely lumping all the complaints together as being anti-homosexual in origin, which I know mine wasn't, as the images would of bothered me even more if it was hetero-sexual, or lesbian art, the reasons for which I explained to Dermot. However, last I heard, this was what DZ had said, and I have heard nothing to the contrary.THE CONTENT ALLOWED IS NOT CHANGING. If it was OK before, it is OK now. Just now, if it is a significant affection image, it must be linked instead of posted in-line.I don't know where you got your impression from, perhaps he said something to you and not to the rest of the forum, but from what I saw, he hated having to address the situation of homophobia. The anti-relationship art was a response to my complaint, unless someone else voiced their problem with it. And this was when it was on fanart threads only, now it is in your sig, which means every topic you post in has it. I have a few ways to address it. I can hit escape, stopping every gif on the page (my avatar included), and hope that it doesn't turn over to a relationship image as I hit it (Which has happened, leading not to a facepalm, but a facecrush), I can just avoid every thread you post in, which is very hard and unreliable, or I can put you on ignore, which is not something I want to do, but it is getting to that point. Dermot
... or I can put you on ignore, which is not something I want to do, but it is getting to that point.*sigh* I will never understand this...this has been a natural and appropriate part of my interest in the series since I was 13. Okay, if that's what you have to do, then that's what you have to do. I'm going to end this comment here before I find myself saying something very unkind, because I really don't want to be unkind to anyone over something as mundane as this. Relationship art? *cocks eyebrow in disbelief*But fine, if you are so hellbent on thrusting it upon everyone, even those that have no interest what-so-ever in seeing it, fine. Be that way. But I am done seeing it. I didn't want it to come to this, but I apparently have no other choice.

"User"
Wow... 7 new pages of posts in this topic in only two days? I really should make it a policy of mine to not log on to ANY web site at all when I'm on vacation so I don't risk missing any topics I want to reply to >_>. It's going to be fun coming home in a week from now and have to catch up on thousands of posts, that should only take an entire day or so. As far as this topic goes my personal opinion is unchanged. Dermot should stay on this site and whoever takes exception with what he says or posts to either just ignore the posts or ignore him via the opinions available to SFO members. Like I've said before listening to other people arguing about this sort of stuff constantly is like listening to a broken record. As for my usually more elaborate responses to this types of issues, I'm on vacation (or should be) so I'll more than spam the site when I get back home next Sunday. (btw Milkyway64 says hi to you all and thanks for the birthday wishes)

Robert Monroe
The wording of "fan sacred" implies that it is sacred to all fans, which is a false implication. There are tons of people here who don't give a rats ass for relationship art or discussion. It is important to YOU, Dermot, yes, but that doesn't make it sacred. Using "sacred" in a purely subjective sense in relation to your own interests gives the impression that you are more focused on your own interests over the feelings of others over the matter. Dermot
Sometimes how a statement is worded can make or break the weight it holds. Using "sacred" in a purely subjective sense in relation to your own interests gives the impression that you are more focused on your own interests over the feelings of others over the matter. The feelings of others cannot veto a legitimate longstanding fan interest, nor should they - it's patently discriminatory long after the fact, not to mention rather infantile. Other fans had 17 years to complain about it. I never heard a single complaint about it during the MouthOff years. It's fine. What's sacred here, is that it has the right to be as fine in broad daylight now as it ever was, whether or not someone else knew about it before or likes its existence now. And this is why this presses my bitch buttons so much. It's like being asked to sacrifice some of the most important rights you already hold dear, in the interests of mob rule. The only possible polite answers to that are "no" and "never".
