I've been editing MediaWiki-based wikis since '03.  I have an itch to improve and edit-binge.  But I'm waiting for DZ's reply to a PM question. ;.;

Alright, here's how you do references.

For each page that you want to have a formal reference list, add the template {{references}} near the bottom.  It will anchor the reference list.

Then, for each reference, you add an inline tag like so:

<ref>Provide notes, and/or a link, or what have you.  Remember to use [hyperlinksyntax for inline external text links].</ref>

If you use the same reference more than once, you can avoid duplicating the same reference in the reference list by doing something like this:

<ref name="someuniquename">My notes here the first time it's used.</ref>

<ref name="someuniquename" />

<ref name="someuniquename" />

etc. for each additional use.

Remember that the {{references}} template in the page is important - if you provide reference tags without anchoring the reference list, the page will generate an error in big red letters at the bottom.

Don't forget that Titania has an unnamed moon (appeared in both Star Fox 2 and in Farewell, Beloved Falco), and that it was icy like Fichina in the SNES games (Fichina did not exist in the SNES games either). X3

What would really help out with this is if someone who had the Star Fox 64 players guide wrote some of the articles. I have the players guides for Assault and Adventures, but not 64.

Anybody got a copy? Or could you point me in the direction of some scans of the guide? If I can get a hold of one, I would have no problem doing all the planet articles.

Sorry, I don't specialize in Star Fox 64.  But I can help write Star Fox SNES related material. :3

DZComposer has some files from my archive. They contain already extracted data from that and other player's guides.

By the way, I've been uploading a lot of stock images that can be used in articles, and categorizing them neatly.

Oh, by the way.  Besides the Recent Changes page (which you ought to keep an eye on if you're editing there), there's also the New Images page where you can keep an eye on new images uploaded to the site as they're uploaded.  Mostly by me. But I hope to amass a large collection of reusable stock images for the wiki.

So far, I've only really significantly expanded one page, Papetoon.  The wiki needs article writers.  Even a sloppy first attempt is better than lots of blank or nonexistent pages.

That's fine, that's fine.  As I said further up, we need article text writers, even if they don't know MediaWiki markup at first.  Perhaps I should set up a sandbox for newbies to practice in, in case you still want to learn.

Most of the MediaWiki markup you'll ever use is actually pretty easy to learn.

Try not to micromanage so much.  MediaWiki also accepts certain HTML tags, such as <small></small> and <big></big>.  Those shrink or grow text size in sensible proportions.  In fact, micromanaging appearance too much is a bad thing - the appearance of the wiki (including its style sheets and colors) can change on you any moment, to whatever DZ decides.  You can't assume things like how big or small the default text size will be, or that the text is black, or that the background is white, etc.

Well, do you know why it's called "wiki"?

"Wiki" is Hawaiian for "fast". :3 The edits can not only be made fast, but the markup can for the most part be learned real fast too.  No one will give you much of a hard time for trying to edit and making an honest mistake. :3
