Tiny, tiny kittens!

Did you guys know that kittens are born in fleshy sacks? The mother needs to lick it off their face when they're born to help them breathe, but if she's in too much pain, the owner may beed to do it for her with a warm cloth. Wow, that will be weird.

I doubt you'll actually have to lick it, a warm cloth will suffice, I'm sure. k_e_tongue.gif

So I'm trolling because I'm trying to get back on topic? Think before you post next time.

No silly, your trolling on our happy times

There's a huge difference between trying to get back on topic and being mean. While being "nice" is not enforced in the rules, it's a common sense between most of the users in this site.

On topic, Sissi, one of the mods here has some experience in the area, I'll make sure to tell her to give you some advice.

LMAO, why shucks Vydrach, thanks! You just saved me a whole lot of work. :P

And thanks Steve, if you could ask her to drop me a little PM I'd really appreciate it.  :friends:

Edit: LMAO Vydrach, I read back on that post and it looks like I meant that. I better edit it. :P

As far as kittens go, be ready not to get any sleep. :) I've had my baby since he was very little and he was very high maintenance just on his own!  (Of course, you're also not taking care of them on your own, I had to bottle feed my baby, every 6 hours!) With birthing, the mom should be  okay on her own, just watch her and make sure all the kittens' sacks are clear of their faces so they can breathe! If there aren't too many of them, the mother should be okay to do it on her own, though. Cats are pretty low maintenance in general, and the same goes for having babies. :) They know what to do. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thanks so much Sissi! I'll keep that in mind. As for no sleep, I'm used to that having raised two kittens already. Reno is still in the "getting hyper every half hour" stage. But yeah, I don't get much sleep anyway so I can do this! :D

Haha, Asper, don't worry I wasn't going to let you guys get away without seeing pics if the tiny ones! I wonder what they'll look like? Nina's mother was Siamese, but her father must have had some pretty strong genes because look at her pattern! Very unusual for a half Siamese!

UPDATE:

Nina had her kittens last night at 1am! We had 4, and I have pictures to post here but I need to upload them first. On a sadder and almost ironic note, my cat at home, Lara, was killed on the road with her friend Trixie, the half-persian cat who belonged to our neighbour. It looks like Lara was killed instantly, but Trixie crawled to her front door and had to be put down. It's almost like an exchange of lives.

That's a shame about Lara and Trixie, but is that not how it always goes? *sigh* Que sera, sera.

Awesome with the kittens, however, be sure to post pics and their names.

Yeah I'm not handling them, but I had to lift one because he got stuck in a funny position. But yeah, I'm not touching them. I'm glad the birth went well, they're all fit and noisy and they look like baby godzillas.

Thanks Sissi, I totally was panicking last night. Thanks to you and Steve, I was able to tackle it with a clear head. :)

I'm not keeping the kittens, I'm selling them. I can't afford to keep anymore pets haha!

That's why we never breed pets, we wouldn't trust people to give them a loving home, so we'd end up like those mad cat ladies, but with dogs.

SO CUUUTTEE! ;A;

I have a fat, ol' 15 year old cat, Bradley. I'm adopting a pair of kittens from this one shelter once he's gone, though-- the poor sweetheart has cancer, and already has part of his jaw removed. It comes back worse each time. I love him so much, though. D:

...-obviously a cat lover-

Ahhhh how sad.  I'm sorry.

Aww hon that's so sad, I'm so sorry. :( I read that cancer is very common in cats. I once knew a cat that had skin cancer and had her ears removed, it only made her cuter. Here are some pictures of the newborns, maybe they'll cheer you up?

Sorry about the bloody towel, but I can't move them yet to change it.

Yeah, unfortunately cancer is common in cats, all my cats have died of cancer, and i have had quite a lot of them, i only have one cat now, maybe once shes gone (the way shes going it will be getting kileld by a wild animal) i might invest in a super cat, theyre pretty neat... and theyre a lot cheaper than when they first came out.
