Drasiana
Just looking at the official character renders. I am so, SO happy that they didn't go with the Command/Assault artstyle here. Good grief, they look great. Maybe we can squeeze some Star Wolf/Katt/Bill renders out this time around? :'D *hopeful*
Zzz
I KNOW RIGHT? [totally embarrassing nerd stuff]The only thing that's a lil weird is how they gave Falco greenish eyes instead of blue (but who the fuck cares anyway, also he had totally black eyes in the original 64) and they kinda screwed up Fox' tail length. OH AND FALCO DOESNT HAVE TAIL FEATHERS! [/totally embarrassing nerd stuff]
Drasiana
Falco's eyes look more cyan to me, though his tailfeathers being missing are scary D: Poor bird got plucked. Here's hoping for PINK KATT~
Zzz
It's exactly this color: Anyways, I'd love to see how Andross looks like :>
Drasiana
à ² _à ² That colour is...wha. Huh. Well it's not as green as Fox's are so whatever Oh yes, Andross! And the bosses...and...Rob, I guess! Damn, I might need to whore myself out for a 3DS now...
Zzz
Yeah go for it! This game really does look amazing. Fox is the only one having a nametag tho. Huh... btw: Clearer mugshots mean less bullshit like this: Yeah...remember that?
Drasiana
The idea of Fox even needing a nametag is silly when you think about it. Also. LOL. YES.

I never even noticed that Falco was missing his tail. Weird.

Zzz
BECAUSE HE LOOKED LIKE ONE TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Honestly, as much as I think he makes more sense a reptile or whatever the crap he really is, SOMEONE needs to make this monkey with huge lips canon. I bet I can come up with more of these, when tell you what I think the other bosses looked like to me, but shit's getting to embarrassing. EDIT: Oh yeah, and nametags for mercenaries are weird anyway, right.
GameMasterGuy
Wait... the Mechbeth driver isn't a monkey? Next thing you'll be saying is that Slippy's male outside of the SNES games...
Zzz
-_- Talking bout Slippy his voice in this remake is incredibly spot on. Just like the rest. I'm actually quite amazed. EDIT: OK, listening closer to him, he does sound less like a girl and more like a little gay shota boy. Why not? He hasn't reached puberty at that point I guess. GameMasterGuy
Everyone knows the best pilots and engineers are 12-year old frog people. Yup.
Starwing_93
Thats exactly what I thought, Slippy seems to have matured from an 8 year old girl into an 8 year old boy Which is more annoying? Only time will tell XD I haven't heard enough of Falco so can't really coment, but from the video posted on Arwing Landing he seems to sound pretty similar, maybe with a slighty softer accent. Peppy - The jury is still out, some of the lines sound fine and others just don't quite fit right. Maybe its the fact i'm so familiar with the old voice so people are naturally going to be unsure, but I can't tell if the lines that do sound different are better or worse. I'm sad to say this is one where the nostalgia filter is clouding my judgement. Fox - I must say Fox sounds fine, if not slightly better. He still sounds relitavely young as compared to Assault (he's 18 in 64 and 28 in Assault), but the voice is very similar in intonation but seems slightly less high pitched and more fitting of his age. Overall, not bad, the original had its charm from being delightfully cheesy, and whilst some sound near identical to the originals, the ones that are different seem to capture the same feel as the original :)
Zzz
Hey, maybe puberty works differently when you're A GODDAMN TOAD AND NOT A FRICKN FROG. Srsly, you guys are hurting Slippy's feelings.... Well, it's extremly hard to get Peppy's voice right. And I really think, it's all because you are just used to his old iteration. Same here, but still... I never imagined them to have such good voice actors. And I do think Fox' new voice is slightly better. He actually sounds a lil more energetic than he did in 64. Of course it's too early to say something like this, tho. Just can't wait to hear how Wolf and the rest will sound like.
GameMasterGuy
I personally loved the garbled SF2 ones. Imagine those voices saying the lines of SF64, everyone's would work well but Algy's/Andrew's.
Drasiana
Here's the video we got on aL. They all sound pretty spot-on to their original voices. Peppy sounds a little harsher than he should, though I'm not sure if that's just the video audio, some lines sound better than others. The Meteo Crusher boss sounds perfect, haha, and I think it's cool that they're inserting the boss names as a title overlay now.
Star Fox Runner
Okay then, I'm very impressed with this remake. But is it just me? Or does the Meteo boss's voice sound like Eric Stuart? (He did the voice of Brock and James in Pokemon and Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh)
DZComposer
I love how NWR actually thought to plug their camera's audio into the 3DS Headphone jack. Cleanest audio we've gotten from the game yet. I think the Voice Acting is worse than the original for the most part. Slippy sounds fine, Fox sounds pretty close to his original, Not enough of Falco to make a call, Peppy's just plain sucks, as does the Crusher's (I think the original sounded slightly better, though this one has a little more feeling, albeit forced feeling). Hopefully it is temporary. I remember SFAs having really crap-tastic temporary voice work during E3. Some things of note from the vid: Taking a page from SFAs, there are now three medals instead of just one: Bronze, Silver, Gold. For Meteo: B: 180 S: 200 G: 300 Gyro may require frequent calibration by the looks of it. (I hope not, but I will be using the circle pad anyway) Boss names and descriptions are shown as Boss appears (Hopefully this will confirm what the SF64 guide says about the Gorgon of Area 6 being a Planet Killer) On a side note, anyone else feel all "SON, I AM DISAPPOINT" at all of the shitty SF64 playing going on in a lot of these E3 vids? Not shooting the rocks for rings on Solar, wasting bombs on meteo for nothing, and crashing into everything on Corneria. I wonder if some of these people ever played the original.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
^ Maybe those guys just hadn't played Star Fox before. Also, I think the Meto Crusher's pilot sounds like a less morbid Vincent Price. Slippy sounds like Prince Sprocket from Power Rangers Zeo. They needed to refresh their memory from 1997. C. They were nervous and acting a bit of a showoff. (HEY LOOK!! I'M BLOWING UP OVER 75 METORS WITH 3 BOMBS!! WHAT NOW?!?) D. They were n00bs. E. Zzz
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/anrj/index.html#/introduction/ Just...look at these levels... beautiful. WAIT PAPETOON? Just click through this cool website and you'll find the recreation of the old introduction opening with james, etc. It sounds like the narrator is saying that Peppy returned to PAPETOON to tell Fox about his father's fate. oh god: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/anrj/index.html#/movie/ storu fuckusu ftw
Starwing_93
Sadly the original Japanese version mentions Papetooon as well, so it must just be a split of the continuity between Eastern and Western releaseses Doesn't mean we can't pretend its part of our canon though, you can even decide to call Andross by his Japanese name Andorf if it makes any difference How do I see the continuity? When James died Fox dropped out of the academy and went to live with Peppy on Papetoon where they formed the new Star Fox. I always saw Papetoon as kind of an out of the way largely undisturbed planet where people could live away from the city be left to their own devices. Kind of like escaping to the seclusion of the country but on a planetary scale
