Starwing_93
The latest issue of ONM, which is basically the UKs answer to Nintendo Power was released today and featured a 6 page spread review as well as 2 covers of Star Fox 64 3D. The review score was 94% and the only real negatives were the lack of online, sensitivity of the Gyroscope and Slippy in general, obviously a joke answer as they couldn't think of anything else Whilst the reviewer was not in favour of the gyroscope, apparently it caused a slight rift between the Magazine staff with around one half preferring it and the other finding it too hard to use, the editor claimed that it was particularly difficult for all range mode. Also whilst they criticised the lack of online, they praised the fact that only one cart was needed for the local stating "with a game that's likely to be very popular, Nintendo could have easily been cynical enough and require each player to own the cart separately for the multiplayer", so It's good to see they are expecting the game to do well Overall, a very positive review with the surmising comment being "one of the greatest action games to grace any Nintendo system" and a final verdict of "Astronomical", it got a gold award too, not bad for a ln upgrade of a 14 year old game! Jo Jo SmoOth
this is great, know all we need is for sells to be good for this game. the guy who made this game said that if this game dosent sell good, there would not be any new star fox game in the future. Im sure lots of people will buy this game.
Starwing_93
It's done well in Japan apparently and ONM seem positive about it doing well so we can only hope for the best really Miyamoto said in the most recent Iwata asks "If first time players like this game, Starfox will be reborn. That's how much I'm counting on this game". With the recent good reception and positive sales in Japan, Star Fox looks set to be around for a while yet, but we can only pray the success is matched over here. From what Miyamoto us saying, particularly the term "reborn", it sounds like this game is paving the way for a retcon. Sorry Krystal fans, but Miyamoto even said in a recent interview that the appeal of Star Fox is it's thrilling, "Top Gun inspired" gameplay, and he basically admitted that Adventures took the series off course. A U turn from Shiggsy there indeed, but I guess hindsight is a beautiful thing. Oh, and if anyone is interested I'll upload both the inner and outer covers from the recent Official Nintendo Mag once I get back to my PC, I tried in my last post but my phone won't let me and Photobucket goes against the site rules :(
"User"
Photobucket goes against the site rules There is nothing in the rules that prohibits Photobucket, I use it all the time.
Starwing_93
Hmm, it told me photobucket URLs are prohibited when I hit submit. Oh well, I'll try again later (and sorry this is totally off topic!) :D
TheStarFoxMaster64
anyone know if you can use the landmaster in battlemode? Based on what maps we've seen, it doesn't look like they'd be favorable regardless. :\ And who used the tank in SF64 multiplayer anyway? I only used it to run over my friends -- who were even more stupid -- that chose to be on-foot.
Jo Jo SmoOth
yea your right SFmaster, but nintendo could of added different game modes like tank battle or team battle. That would of been cool. When miyamoto said that Star Fox will be reborn, dose that mean he's going to change up the story, like he did with star fox on the SNES?

When miyamoto said that Star Fox will be reborn, dose that mean he's going to change up the story, like he did with star fox on the SNES? - That would be cool -- maybe possible. A lot of sources say the game's multiplayer can be customized, but this might just go as far as changing "kill limits" and "time". Personally, I hope they bring back "time-attack" from SF64 where you had to kill baddies on Katina or Sector Z: it was awesome fun shooting your friends and reducing their scores back to zero. xP - I hope he means "steering Star Fox back to its territory". If that means if Adventures, Assault and Command are erased from the canon-... ... :-D
Jo Jo SmoOth
The only thing i realy like about the battle mode is that you can play with the CPU, and the maps look cool to. (same here SFmaster. i did like adventure but not for a starfox game, SFC was ok it just didnt have any ture arwing missions like in SF64/3D, SFassault just needed more missions about an extra 6 missions with more arwing in use. i would be glad if they started all over with the story)

TheStarFoxMaster64
Which makes it an even bigger risk concerning that Star Fox's future lies in the hands of a remake. Talk about "frying the coke". I was on-the-edge about it too, but with all the positive feedback and sales (SF643D is lookin' good here in the US already with pre-orders), I have faith this game will be a smashing hit! And when the other 1st party titles come out near November, nobody will have a reason not to buy the 3DS during the holidays.

Jo Jo SmoOth
if Star Fox 3D dose sell good, nintendo will make a new Star fox game, but i hope it comes out for both the Wii U and the 3DS. Not everyone has the money to buy both systems...yea you can save up money like you did with the 3DS, but still having another new system just to play one game, the only reason why im getting a 3DS is to get SF3D... Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted August 4, 2011 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted August 4, 2011 So when does this game actually come out? I just picked up Ocarina of Time 3DS.. I love it.. and at the same time, I hate it. They changed the script and basically told you where to go next... Never did in the N64 version. And now I have to relearn all the ocarina songs. I do like the 3D effect and moving the 3DS to aim your camera and hookshot, etc..

TheStarFoxMaster64
@ Odd: I heard something about Nintendo decreasing the difficulty level in OoT3D, but that's not necessarily a bad thing: as long as they tell where to go and not how to solve the puzzles fair and square, I'd be fine! --- I have the worst feeling that I'll be the only kid in town with a 3DS. Team Battle -- or any multiplayer, for that matter -- would be awesome with actual players, but with CPUs? Nah.

TheStarFoxMaster64
Looks like we're getting the same deal as the Japanese: the "Flame Red" 3DS model is being released with Star Fox 64 3D! Source: http://www.hdguru3d....-news&Itemid=59 Also, Star Fox 64 3D's pre-order sales climbed to No. 170 on Amazon. Source: http://news.punchjum...mid-price-drop/ And when exactly is the North American's SF643D website going to be updated? The Japanese website was updated around a month before release (in Japan). Here, it seems like we're waiting forever! --- On an unrelated note, I've seen that same, stupid Star Fox Command promotional art EVERYWHERE on sites like this that try to report Star Fox 64 3D information! It doesn't even make any sense: not only is Leon just out-of-place in this picture (being a floating body, and all), but Krystal?! She's not even in Star Fox 64, let alone this game! Ghieri
I was wondering: is the cockpit view (first-person view) definitely gone in the 3ds version? I searched for the answer on google and youtube but couldn't find it.
Psygonis
Now that you mention it, it's nowhere to be seen in the videos we currently have... Maybe someone should ask to the people who uploaded videos on Youtube.
