" KITT, Drop down to the level 2 defense grid and plot a course for the control center. I have work to do. "

*KITT replies to Phoenix*

""Right Away. But may I add that you have no weapons?""

"Koriani, this is Ranger... the two unknowns have made it into the control center, repeat, they are inside the control center... i'm heading in on foot to check it out, i can't see a thing in there from this altitude..."

(Takes his T-65 in for a landing)

"C4, cut in the repulsors, then lets shut down the engines, no need to make any more noise than we need to..."

(Ranger lands his T-65 behind a hill near the Climate Control Center. He then opens up the cargo hatch located underneath the ship and pulls out his assault rifle.)

Okay... rifle... check. Blaster pistol... check. Lightsaber... check. Alright... i've got enough spare ammo clips for about a full hour of continuous fighting as well... and my wrist shields both have enough power for 10 minutes... that should be enough if things get nasty...

(Starts walking towards the Climate Control Center....)

"There's nothing around to stop us... What the? You think it could be a trap Krystal?"

She looks at Fox with a concerned look in her eyes, "Yes Fox, for a control building it is pretty deserted expesually with the enemy on the planet now. This place should have some staff here or something." Then all of a sudden there were sounds over them in the floor just above them. "Fox, what do you think is up there?"

Fox looked up.

"I don't know, maybe it's the security system kicking in. That or it's aparoids, which I hope not."

Fox pointed his blaster towards the ceiling then started to back up to the control panel again. He turned around then started to click buttons on the panel.

"We have to find a way to open the ceiling... Maybe there's a button to."

Damn... they're inside the control center all right... but where? Hmm... well, hopefully this will work, but if any aparoids show up while i'm doing this, I'll be in real trouble...

("Reaching out" with his senses, Ranger can now sense the exact location of everyone inside the Control Center...)

Hmmm... Edgar just showed up... he's awfully close to those other two, though... hope he doesn't run into them before I get there... and... okay... there they are... dang, they're in the main control room already... huh? #$#@!....

(Ranger flinches, and re-erects his mental barriers.)

%$#*! One of them's a telepath! I'll be lucky if I didn't just give myself away doing that! I may as well go off the assumption that I just blew it... gotta get to the control room...

(Enters the Control Center...)

((count me in!))

Allegiance: Rouge

Name: Tsune Mc'Dorien

Handle: Red Lotus

Species: Metavulpine, white (genetically engineered fox)

Genetic Modifications: Silver fur, enhanced psionic abilities, reaction times and 'pilots instincts', (predicting flight paths accurately and enemy attack patterns, like a sort of 'sixth sense'. Not always accurate, of course.

Age: 18

Gender:Male

Height: 5 foot 5 inches tall

Weight: 175 lbs

Eye Color: Violet

Fur Color 1: Silver

Fur Color 2: Black

Fur Coloring: Tsune's fur is silver all over, except of course his tailtip, forearms, lower legs, eartips, and the black, tigerlike stripes on his body.

Home Planet: Space-born, no home planet or planet of residence

Ship: The Paladin

Preferred Weapon: Soulknife (psionically generated energy melee weapon, capable of reflecting small arms fire)

**Secondary Weapon: Customized Miner's Ion Rifle (Normally, this is used for mining, but has been modified for pulse, burst, and continuous ray modes. This weapon is very large, normally carried in a specialized, quick-draw robotic arm holster mounted on his combat armor. Related to this, he wears cybernetic boots mounted also to this support, which allow him to move freely wearing it... and kick pretty darn hard.)

Normal dress: Tsune prefers as little protection as possible... he's that kind of guy. He is not foolish, however: his reactions are quick, and he relies on them, so he prefers to wear something light and comfortable, like his trademark dark-colored tunic, Rifle supports (covered extensively in the secondary weapon description), and no gloves with fingers: he needs to be able to touch his soulknife, after all. He wears a very long red scarf around his neck, which wraps all the way around his neck and waist, acting as a fashion statement, badge of honor, and comfortable, non-restricting piece of clothing. He ties his tail (much like Krystal), and constantly wears a pair of green-tinted goggles, his trademark piece of clothing along with his scarf. He of course wears a pair of pilot's protective trousers, standard outfit of cornerian pilots. At most, he'd probably look like an eccentric space miner. On all his equipment is his insignia: a spike-gauntleted hand resembling a fox's paw grasping a golden sword on a starburst-shaped white background.

Bio: Tsune never goes by his real name... and that suits him just fine. People call him Red Lotus, or often simply Red, and he's learned to answer to this name over the years. He's been a known pilot on high-risk mining, salvage, and merchant jobs, and the occasional report of the Paladin as a foil to space-pirates and the occasional stray menace has been called in to the Cornerian govornment as well. He swears no allegiance to any planet or faction, but acts as a sort of wildcard defender of the general good, always playing a bit from the background to further causes he favors. He got his trademark Goggles from his father, Sid Mc'Dorien, a legendary spacetrucker. Few believe he is son of Sid "Warprider" Mc'Dorien, but he is.. in fact, he IS Sid Mc'Dorien, at least should be, considering he is his clone, modified and perverted by Andross. In a sense, he is Andross's son as well, due to how much he was modified genetically to be the ultimate pilot, something he will never be aware of. He never even knew about Andross's existance, while in an asteroid belt. His serrogate mother, Camille, was a figherpilot for the Cornerian military, and had, by sid's wish, voulenteered to be Tsune's mother. She was retired, and lived as a miner in that asteroid belt. She and Sid taught him everything about piloting they could, and instilled in him a sense of right and wrong that still endures in him to this day. When his mother was fatally wounded in a mining accident, on her death bed, she bestowed little Tsune her lucky red sash. He cherishes it and the Goggles his father gave him greatly. He took his mother's ship, Sevenfold, and with his aging father's help, modified it into the Paladin, sure not to share his mother's fate. When his father passed away, Tsune ran from the pain... he had no more family, and no reason to stay. He took on the handle Red Lotus, and ventured into space to find his fortune at the age of 14, already an incredibly skilled pilot. Over time,

Paladin technical specifications:

Type: Visage class heavy starfighter

Visage class - The exact specifications of a Visage class ship is unknown, as no military is known to actively utilize them in high numbers because of their complicated systems and size, much too big for the docking bays of anything short of a heavy cruiser equipped for servicing starships. Visages are noted for their maneuverability, firepower capabilities, and defensive capabilities, though they are not particularly fast in an atmosphere. Visages are capable of hovering, and full-spectrum movement range (in other words, they can move sideways while not moving forward, fly backward, up, down, and in any direction one could think of.

Pilot: Red Lotus

Wingspan: 70 meters

Length: 50 meters

Height: 15 meters

Top Speed (in atmosphere): up to Mach 7

Engine: Unknown

Hyperdrive Generator: Unknown

Shield Generator: Unknown

Armament:

Main weapon: (2) Ion Cannon (the ion cannons, mounted one on each wing, are some of the heaviest weapons a ship short of a battlecruiser can handle. With a beastly cooldown rate, prolonged ray, and sheer damage potential, the Ion cannon is one of the deadliest implements of war ever created. To use them the Paladin must in entirety aim using its whole bulk. The downside, of course, is their cooloff rate. Normally, Red Lotus uses these as heavy cutting instruments when mining.)

Secondary weapon: (4)Ion Pulse Array (mounted on the same rotating segment as the SLTs, these turret-mounted offensive shield generators are designed specifically to create a pocket of hyperacellerated ions on the surface of the Paladin's deflector shields, allowing her to ram other ships up to her size with little hesitation or care, thus earning her name as a melee ship. Alternatively, she can use them to create 'fists' of this energy, hurling enemies about while damaging them greatly. Red Lotus normally uses this particular system to keep asteroids at bay when mining or working in general in dangerous situations.)

Group Assault weapon: (10) Plasma Assault cannons (4 mounted on each wing, and two on the main body, these turrets are computer guided, firing explosive globs of plasma that upon striking a ship create a dip in gravitational pull that often sends smaller ships reeling out of controll, as well as dealing them great harm. He uses these in a normal, non-combat situation ONLY to carefully dislodge deposits of valuable minerals from stubborn rock, and sparingly, as they can cause a mine to collapse entirely.)

Ranging Weapon: (4) Siege Laser Turret (mounted encircling the cockpit of the Paladin are four, extremely concentrated, long-range lasers designed to cut through armor and shields easily. Each individhual one is bad enough, but when all four are focused on a single target, the results are devestating enough to damage larger class ships. Red uses these as he uses the Miner's Ion Rifle: to cut rock in normal situations. He's skilled with using this system, and is very, very accurate with guiding the computers.)

Bombs: Ragnarok Torpedoes (Though not as explosive as a standard nova bomb, Ragnarok Torpedoes are not ammo-using weapons, firing as long, slower-moving but deadly cyllenders of plasma that splash onto targets and rapidly corrode them. In a normal situation, these see use as burrowing charges. )

The Weakness: the engines, of course. The exposed ports of the engines take heavier damage than the rest of the ship on a direct hit from an enemy. The ports are exposed, and taking a hit in the back is nothing savory to her, the bane of any heavy-duty ship, really.

The Paladin bio: The Paladin usually opens up in combat with a blast from her long range ion pulse lasers, often cutting through several foes in a single pulse, like a sort of sniper cannon, but she fights best at the medium ranges, lobbing Ragnaroks and charges from the Plasma Assault cannons to take out smaller fighters and cripple the thrusting systems of heavier cruisers. Against large opponents, she shows brute power by utilizing her two potent Ion cannons, and against smartass smaller fighters, she employs a battering ram technique, backed up by her offensive shields. She is just as deadly to a fighter as to a battlecruiser, something those that have faced her in combat have been forced to respect. Ah, but the Paladin serves a double purpose: each and every one of her systems also see much civilian use, such mundane tasks as mining and trucking, only serving to hone the targeting systems and equipment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Without warning, the radar systems inside the controll center would pick up a new radar signature... and from nowhere, four thin, but incredibly concentrated lasers would cut a swath through a thick section of Buggies, missing Wolf O'donnel's ship marginally, but methodically, and having no profound effect right away... a half-second passed, and then at least twenty of the beasties split into pieces, dying instantly and quite grusomely, their bodies creating friction and burning up, going from several machs to zip in less than a seconds. Broadcast on all channels, a loud "Red Lotus, Reporting! Hooooooaaaaah!!!" A massive form would appear on the radar, moving at quite an interesting pace indeed, faster than a ship its size should be able to move. It was almost the size of the Great fox, rippling with armaments, and firing explosive rounds of plasma into clusters of aparoids, sending them spinning out of controll, parts of them blown apart.

In the cockpit portrait was a silver fox wearing green goggles put up on his head, a red sash obscuring a bit of his face, and a young appearance to him appeared on Wolf O'donnel's screen. "Looks like you could use some help there!" the fox piped, and off the left wing, off to the side far enough so the fighter would not easily collide with it, was a long, but massive ship that looked something like a cross between a civillian miner's ship and a military heavy assault ship, painted gold with the insignia of a clawed and spiked gauntlet holding a golden sword on a white starburst, a crimson ring encircling the entire insignia. Aparoids collided with the reddish shield of the massive frigate, and seemed to burn away and fly off course, as if its shield was offensive. A disc segment just behind the front of the frigate, four long, curious looking lasers mounted on it, spun around rapidly, firing deadly bursts of laser, cutting through Aparoids left and right with uncanny accuracy.

The Paladin had arrived.

Red Lotus saw one of the main ships that was sending Aparoids out... and he licked his lips, pressing a few buttons on the communications console in the cockpit to get the attention of all channels. "Attention! Red Lotus here! I'm about to use my main Ion cannons on target co-ordinates 10.7324,0.5607 14.0,6.5, 100.42,27.67 from north-northwest altitude 40,000 feet. If you're in my way, I suggest you move. NOW!"

He cried into the Comm, positioning the Paladin and firing stabilization thrusters, slowing to a stop. He began preparations to fire the main cannons, his paw moving swiftly on the console to reach the protected disarm switch and keys on either side of the main targeting systems. He flipped open the plastic casings protecting these keys from accidental firing, and turned both at the exact same moment. On a pedastel on the console, an image of a very beautiful fox appeared, arms crossed angrily. "Tsune! Are you sure about this?!" she cried, almost in a panic.

Tsune Nodded. "Yes, mum. I'm quite sure... Arm the Main Cannons! We're going to do some damage!"

The image of the woman nodded in reply, and Tsune sat back down.

He pulled a pair of retracting aiming joysticks from the targeting system, and gained a feel for the ship's system supporting the Ion cannons. It was a neccesity: he needed to feel instantly when to rest the massive cannon from firing so it would not misfire, and perhaps destroy everything in a 1-mile radius of him from the explosion. He flipped up the safety and put his finger on the charge buttons, pressing them gently. Energy visibly began to gather, slowly at first, but gaining speed. It would take a couple seconds.... Time enough for whoever was in the way to move.

"I repeat!" he called into the Com. "I'm about to use my main Ion cannons on target co-ordinates 10.7324,0.5607 14.0,6.5, 100.42,27.67 from north-northwest altitude 40,000 feet. If you're in my way, I suggest you move. NOW! Hurry! Before its too (condemnation) late! Red Lotus, Out!"
