What the... blast, NOW the dang thing starts working again!" (The T-65's engines flare to life...) *7 seconds till impact* (Ranger angles the X-wings thrusters downward, slowing his descent even more.) *6 seconds* Okay... this should do it... (Ranger shunts as much power as possible into the engines, providing maximum thrust.) Hope Edgar gets clear... *5 seconds* (The T-65 still falls, but is slowing down.) *4 seconds* (The T-65 has slowed down drasticly now, and continues to do so.) *3 seconds...* *3 seconds...* *3 seconds... countdown aborted.* "Okay... we've lost enough speed now... setting repulsors to normal settings... locking S-foils in transit mode... initiating landing sequence..." (The T-65 lowers its landing struts.) Alright... here goes, its been a while since i've landed this thing manualy... (With a slight bump, the X-wing lands safely. However, there are signs of damage vissible on much of the ship, black smoke is vissible emmiting from one of the engines, and black marks from blasterfire are visible on a good portion of its surface: The Aparoids really worked Rangers ship over!) (flips a switch to open the cockpit, and removes his helmet) "Okay... guess i'd better take a look at how badly they messed my ship up..." (Jumps out of the ship, and does a visual inspection by walking around it.) "#%%^... dang, this won't be easy to fix..." (C4 lets out several beeps and chirps.) "Yeah, you're right, I might want to start with your link to the ship first, so we don't have a repeat of this...." (takes a moment to remove a pannel from the T-65. Ranger nearly laughs out loud when he sees just how much "damage" the aparoids did to C4's link.) "I don't belive this... one wire, one LOUSY wire burnt out, and thats all it took to cut you off C4? Dang, i'll have to do something about this the next time i upgrade the ship..." *shakes head in disbelief, then reconects the burnt out wires.* "Well, that should help... C4, run a diagnostic on the ship, will ya?" Guess all i can do is wait till C4's... woa, whats that? (Ranger spots a cloud of black smoke nearby that he hadn't noticed till now.) "Guess I'm not the only one who's crashed out here..." (pulls out his blaster pistol.) Might want to check this out... Me and R5 are here on the planet, but in the meantime do some diagnostics on that damaged X-Wing we found in space a week ago and tell me about it... " " Right Away " * Phoenix looks over and sees Ranger's ship land safely... * " Well, at least he survived... he's lucky that Incom makes such stable ships... but i think that's not a standard T-65. " * R5 lets out a series of bleeps that are automatically translated by the Com-Link. * " That Figures... and your ship didn't do the job? " " Evidentally... This was an antique i was flying... I should have just taken that YT-1300 that was sitting in the hangar on the Dominance and used that instead.. that would have been more stable... " " The Millenium Falcon?? The aperoids in there area are wiped out and now there only in the area of were the millitary is. (Starts walking back to his ship) Thats funny, theres no one nearby, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm being watched... (Spots a brief "shimmering" in the air around him.) What the...? Blast, i hope that wasn't what I think it was... i'd better get back to my ship, and fast... "Fox, what is it? Are you alright?" Fox signed, then slowed his arwing to drift. "Yes, we've been here. There's a bit of a aparoid problem though, don't know if we finished it or not." The general swiped his head. "Just hurry and get back here..." Fox scratched his head... then paused, finally breaking the awkward moment. "General, you okay-" The general's transmission fades. "What the... Krystal, high-tail it back to the Greatfox, I think the general is in trouble." Fox boosts back to the Greatfox which is drifting over Fichina's atmosphere.
