Guest Enkashi Posted June 15, 2005 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Red lotus felt his heart pounding in his chest as the two massive Ion Cannon shots approached the aparoid main ship. He calculated in his mind how big the blast would be when they impacted... these Ion Cannons were not something to be trifled around with. He'd be pretty weak, though not particularly vulnerable in the three second or so cooldown that would ensue. The two Ion Shots impacted with the Aparoid ship's shields, draining them almost instantly, and got right to the good part: the ship beneath. All the armor in the world would not save that ship: the shots, by the time they got to it, had expanded to a size much larger than the ship that had originally fired it. The supercharged shots turned the aparoid cruiser into swiss cheese, sort of how it looks when a person eats an apple and leaves the rind behind. It sort of looked like that, Red mused to himself. The shots fired well through the ship, well enough an indication that it was toast. After the accelerated, overcharged ion shot had dissappated, there was a brief moment in time as the electricity flickered and hummed in its wake on the annhialated aparoid ship's interior, before it simply exploded in a shockwave that would shake the controll center badly, knocking everyone, be they aparoid or otherwise, to the ground. The shockwave interacted with the paladin's shields, making the ship rumble as well, despite its size as the Ion cannons began the cooling process. He'd be ready to charge a second volley in about 5 seconds... should he see a need. Instead, he turned his attention to the Aparoids on the ground, and put the safety mechanism back on the main cannons, instead arming the Ragnarok Torpedoes. "Red Lotus, reporting!" he called on all channels. "Target destroyed, all Lylat defense forces who survived, respond!" he called in concern, and began sending volleys of the bright green-glowing plasma to the surface to impact the most damage on grounded aparoids as he could, guided by his enhanced instincts and targeting computer. On the surface, it would look something like doomsday, explosions spraying plasma left and right disintegrating and burning away Aparoids and just about anything that got in the shots' ways. Perhaps someone could give us a hand? "" " I'd rather not ask. This is a problem of my own, my flagship has been attacked. " * Jumps in KITT, takes off and starts blasting enemy Aparoids. * " Jeez! Where are they all coming from? " "" Probably from that mothership off to the north of us "" " Oh GOD! I'm calling in all fighters! " * Gets on Comlink * " Attention! This is Phoenix. The Mobius is under siege by a squadron of Aparoids, and there's another Mothership heading your way! I need help. My squadrons are doing the best they can!
