Matrilwood
When ever I think of the 3D movies I'm transported back to the 50s where everything was, "Jazz Racing IN FULL COLOR", the difference though is that, in color, the jump in detail is as extreme as when they started having sound. Though with 3D, I saw Avatar in 3D, not much different to what you could do in 2D. If you try and utilize the 3Dness of 3D you just make people sea sick, so I wonder why they bother. If anything, 2D is better because in 3D your trying to have 2 separate images on the 1 screen, which causes the 2 images to interact and then you get a blurry image. Four-eyed Vulpine
Just wait until they start making virtual reality movies.Star Wars in Virtual Reality!!! Talk about a seizure waiting to happen. Eventually movie-makers will figure out that humans have limits when it comes to vision.
rainfyre66
I'm so sick of this 3D crap. It's starting to be overkill. People are only going to be more and more annoyed about the additional "3D fee" as the quality is only going to go down because studios are just going to slap it on any old movie even if its not worthy of 3D effects (ahem, Clash of the Titans...). Eventually, people will become bored with it and stop seeing 3D product. It's a freakin' novelty right now, it's not going to save the industry from the economic slump. The movie industry is wrongly convinced that because Avatar and Alice made so much money that people are clamoring for more, but part of the reason that they were such financial hits is because of the bloated 3D and IMAX upgrade fees. Even most passes or coupons that customers can use for a discount require an additional fee that isn't required on regular films to maximize the gross and insure that all the money that went into producing the damn thing is made back (no, the extra money isn't just to pay for the damn glasses). Gah. I normally try not to be too much of a pessimistic ranter on here, but the whole 3D fad really grinds my gears...
Sabre
Not only that, but currently it's an experience you can only get at the pictures. Home 3D isn't here yet. Also it keeps piracy at bay a little while.Clash of the titans had 3D put in after the fact. There will be a day when 2D is the new Black and White. That said, the tech isn't ready yet. rainfyre66
Clash of the titans had 3D put in after the fact.Exactly, and not only was it unnecessarily tacked on to a movie that was filmed with effects not originally planned for 3D, but it was such a crappy rush job that before the movie opened, trained projectionists throughout movie theatre companies screened it and panicked because the 3D effects were so bad, they thought they received corrupted copies of the movie, until finally it was discovered, no, it's supposed to look that way, so hopefully the untrained eyes in the audience shouldn't notice...
