Where would Star Fox be now?

Where do you guys think the Star Fox team would be now if Nintendo FINISHED Dinosaur Planet, Krystal was NEVER made (Forgive me Krystal Fans :) lol), Fox never met Krystal, which means he never would have gotten the Krazoa Spirits and kicked Andross's fat @$$ all over again? Bascically this question is where would SF be if SFAd was NEVER made? (Once again forgive me Krystal Fans :) lol)

Better off.

In space.

Shooting things with cool music.

With less dumb plots.

Respectable on the same scale as Mario, Metroid and Zelda.

And Dinosaur Planet may have become its own franchise, as well....

I really think it's better off with Adventures, Andross would still be out there taking candy from babies if it wasn't made. And that would lead to a new SF game.......

Star Fox in general wouldn't be nearly as popular because a lot of the more recent Star Fox fans since 2002 got into the series because of Krystal and if she's not there they would leave the series or at least not express nearly the same level of interest.  Krystal can easily be considered the most popular character among fans worldwide.

Okay explain this then, if star fox is so freakin bad @$$ now, which most of the reason is because of SF64 and the original SF the it wouldn't have made a difference because I personally like Krystal except where in SFC life for SF ends and they some out with quitting the team and other gay things at the same time. but it would still be epic because most people like SF for SF64 and SF not really the newer games, lol I do like the new games though.

Would likely of been less popular due to Star Fox having less story development, which would require it to be based solely on gameplay, which likely would of failed since they would of probably only done on-rails shooters, which would eventually get boring.

True, I never thought of it that way :)

But just look at some of the other VERY successful series...Mario...Sonic (Somewhat lol) they got no story lines, it's the same dang thing every game, and Nintendo makes millions off of Mario going to kick Bowser's @$$ like a million times a year, samewith Sonic and Eggman, you don't have to have a storyline to be an amazing game, but Star Fox has a pretty beastly one :)

People have been complaining that Sonic has been in a sharp decline for years (And even they mixed it up with Adventures, Adventures 2, Shadow The Hedgehog, Unleashed), and Mario has a different game every time, I heard. (Newest Mario game I have is 64).

True Mario does have a different game but it's all the same, Mario goes and curb stomps Bowser in the face and it's all over, there's never anything new lol

Each one has different gameplay, and there are a lot of mixed in games that aren't about Bowser. Like Luigi's Mansion, that is Mario's universe, yet I don't recall Bowser being the antagonist.

And we can DEFINITELY see how well "story development" has treated Starfox. Let's not kid around, Adventures, Assault and Command did about as much good for Starfox in the story telling department as 20 autistic chimpanzees with typewriters. I would rater have a game with minimal plot that's actually damn enjoyable, there are plenty of ways to keep action based games going.

Popularity =/= good. Krystal is the undeserving herald of the franchise, a franchise that's no damn good anymore.

Every story sounds stupid if you overly simplify it. Harry Potter and Star Wars are known for decent and unique story,

And I didn't mind Assault's controls, were serviceable for me, and saying it's a "fanfiction grade plot" is a very general thing to say, since some fanfictions can be epic. Essentially, every video game story is a fanfiction, since it is written by a person who happens to be a fan of the game, just he's getting paid for it, and is writing it first.

Also, I rather liked Assault's levels, they weren't so bad. There's levels I enjoyed less in SF64. *cough*Titania*cough*

The difference here is I'm NOT simplifying. Harry Potter and Star Wars have MORE to it than their core plot. Adventures had NOTHING beyond its crummy little plot twist at the end, and Assault had nothing but what I mentioned either.

Titania was probably the second worst SF64 level (after Solar), but Assault had maybe 1 or 2 enjoyable levels altogether. That's a broken tradeoff.

Actually, yes you are simplifying it. And I enjoyed the majority of the Assault levels (Just the first and last missions weren't entirely to my liking).

Ironic, I found the first level to be one of the good ones (on rails, decent music, spaceship battles). Katina I found to be at best a bore and at worst a grind through dozens of worthless enemies with the tank. Sargasso I found to be an irritating on-foot mess of a level that broke the flow by forcing my ass into space at random intervals, culiminating with a anticlimatic Starwolf fight. Fichina was a slow-paced tank stage that had you run in a literal circle to destroy 3 targets, an annoying on foot segment, an actually fun wing riding segment, and then a boss I can literally kill with 2 nova bombs in 3 seconds. Asteroid Field was another decent level, with good aesthetics for a change, but stole its music from Meteo and its boss from Area 6. Sauria is the worst damn level in the game and has no checkpoints, forcing you to run your ass all over the place killing obnoxiously hidden targets in a trial and error grindfest, and breaks up the pacing again with making me fly my Arwing just to drop a piddly meter. Corneria was a boring stroll through a badly designed Corneria City shooting at things with a sniper rifle and being forced to try and protect AIRCRAFT ON FOOT WITH A ROCKETLAUNCHER THAT REFUSES TO LOCK ON PROPERLY. And then you have a fun wing riding moment again. Orbital gate was.... entirely ok. Nothing really good or bad about it. Just... there. Aparoid homeworld, depending on your difficulty setting, is either a long or short grind through either a few or a freaking overkill amount of areas to kill some dopey targets, and then a so-so Arwing segment. The final level is just an annoying gauntlet of shit flying at you endlessly as generic "terror" music plays.

And if I'm simplifying it, then please tell me what deep and meaningful details I am missing out from the STORYTELLING EPICS that is the Gamecube Starfox games.

Sci-Fi cliché, sadly.

I never said they were storytelling epics, just that there is more to them than you are saying. And since movie plots were brought in, then I will summarize them as though they were movie plots, which may take a little time.

On this note, I will say I liked Starfox Adventures' story up until around Cloudrunner Fortress. Then it took a severe dip in quality for me and just became really redundant.
