Hello, everyone.  For you newbies, and for those of you who haven't yet heard,

I, Julius Quasar, am the New RP Mod. 

I would like to thank the powers that be who gave me this new position of authority,

and to The Dark Knight (F.K.A. Simon, F.K.A. Sideways), our former RP Mod, now a Full Mod (Congratulations) for his service here as an RP Mod.

Now...As much as I love this new position, I don't love being the BOFH, none of the Staff here at this fine community do.

HOWEVER:

If you are going to behave like a jackass, you will be treated as such.

But if you behave like a decent person (or better), you will be treated as such.

Obviously, I have a lot of friends here, but I won't let that distract me from my duties, or influence my judgment.

I want to do my best to serve the SF-O community, its members, and you fine folks, the members. 

To do so, I will lead as best I can, but I also want you folks to do your part, and follow the rules, of both SF-O and the RP Forum itself.

Here are the rules and guidelines I've been working on (I'll update this as needed).

**All the SF-O Main site rules still apply here.  Please refer to and review them.**

1.  DO NOT START ANY ROLE PLAY THREAD WITHOUT PERMISSION.  I cannot stress this enough!  In the spirit of fairness,

I will approve the earliest dated RP Threads, before the more recently requested RP Threads. 

DO NOT PM YOUR RP REQUEST TO ME, or I'll reject it automatically.

All Role Play Thread Approvals are on a "First Come, First Serve" Basis.

*Regarding RP Themes, Let's limit them to Star Fox, please.  You may mix things with Star Fox, be it Star Trek, Star Wars, etc.

Also, please submit only 1 role play request at a time.

RP Requests submitted on the same day will be approved by how much support/replies they have garnered.  Whichever RP has the most Support/Replies gets approved over the others, which will be either locked or bumped back.

**Upon approval of an RP, the RP Players and creators have 1 week from the approval date to start the RP, otherwise it will be denied and The RP Mod will move on to approve the next Requested RP.

2.  DO NOT INTERRUPT ANY ROLE PLAYS.  If you are not on the cast/player list for an RP, you may not join.

Exceptions to this provision are:

-The member requested to join the RP Via the RP Discussions board, and was approved by the creator of that RP.

-All SF-O Mods in exercise of their official duty.

-In the 3 Public Threads, "The Cornerian Bar", "Outside The Bar", and "The Lylat Luxury Hotel".

To request joining a Role Play Thread, even after it has begun and the cast list has been filled, you can:

-Post said request to join RP in the RP Equivalent thread

-PM the Thread creator

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO JOIN AN RP AFTER IT HAS STARTED AND THE CAST/PLAYER LIST HAS BEEN FILLED.  PLEASE RESPECT ANY DECLINE/DENIAL OF YOUR REQUEST TO JOIN AFTER THE RP THREAD HAS BEGUN.  YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE.

(example: "Evacuate Katina Base" would be in the Main Board, but "Evacuate Katina Base RP"

or "Evacuate Katina Base Discussion" would be in the RP Discussion Board.)

3.  If your RP has been approved, YOU MUST HAVE A DISCUSSION THREAD TO ACCOMPANY YOUR RP THREAD in the RP Discussions Forum. 

DO NOT POST AN RP DISCUSSION THREAD IN THE RP DISCUSSION BOARD UNTIL YOUR RP HAS BEEN APPROVED.

4.  PLAY NICE!  Don't insult other people's posts, actions, RP Character's actions, etc.  If you have a problem with them, take it to the RP Discussions Thread Equivalent, or to the PM's.  Don't be a "Ball Hog", either.  Also, please wait your turn, so to speak.  And observe the other posts, so there isn't a contradiction.

Do not randomly bring up trouble in the two bar roleplays ("Cornerian Bar #2" and "Outside The Bar"), popping in when you can and making rather absurd posts.  Don't include pictures instead actually writing out what happened or what picture you saw/showed someone. 

NO POWER PLAYING. NO USING A CHARACTER ALREADY BEING USED BY SOMEONE ELSE (UNLESS THAT PLAYER LEFT FOR A LONG TIME, AND WITHOUT NOTICE, OR THE RP CREATOR, AN RP MOD, OR THE PLAYER USING THAT CHARACTER GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO USE THAT CHARACTER.  NO GOD MODDING. (EXAMPLE: by saying that your character took off his/hers "Leon disguise" and was apparently Sly Cooper the entire time.  Or writing in your post that your character went around to other characters and stole their belongings before quickly getting away...to steal something from someone else in a roleplay, you need either the person's permission or to just write out that you're -trying- to steal it, letting the person being stolen from make the final decision in their post...).

DO NOT POST A PICTURE WHEN NOT NECESSARY.  Embedding or linking unnecessary images can slow down a web forum's performance.  Please do not post pictures that hold little/no necessity to the RP.  If you could just as easily describe it, then describe it.  If not, then you may post an image (in compliance with SF-O's regulations).

5.  KEEP IT CLEAN.  By that, I mean PG 13 Rated at the most.  Excessive swearing, vulgarity, violence, or gore is unacceptable.  If you want to say that some role play characters had sex, I prefer it be toned down to say "They made love", and you needn't go into further detail.  Saying things like "He tickled her belly-button from the inside!", while good for a laugh, is inappropriate.  No rape scenes or scenarios.  No [gory] details about how violently someone was maimed, or killed.  Keep content regarding Narcotics, Smoking, or Drinking LIMITED. 

6.  IF YOU LEAVE, YOUR CHARACTER, FAN OR SERIES, IS GOING TO BE UP FOR GRABS WITHIN A WEEK (FOR THE REMAINDER OF THAT ROLE PLAY ONLY).  You snooze, you lose, however, you may appeal to the RP Creator, the player currently using your [former] character to get it back.  If a negotiation can't be successfully made, the RP Mod will have the final verdict on the matter.

7.  IN THE SPIRIT OF FAIRNESS, ROLE PLAY THREADS OF CERTAIN AGES/SIZES WILL BE LOCKED.  ALL THREADS THAT HAVE NO ACTIVITY IN 2 WEEKS WILL BE LOCKED.  As of July 1, 2010, all Threads 6 months of age or older, and/or 1500 posts or more, will automatically be locked by the RP Mod  However, there will be 1 week grace period to either wrap things up or say goodbye.  Other people are waiting in line with their thread requests, so it's only fair they get a chance.  All Sticky Marked RP Threads of 1500 posts or more will be locked, but automatically granted a "Next Chapter" status.  Certain Private RP's will be considered for a "Next Chapter" status as well.

8.  NO MORE THAN 3 ROLE PLAY THREADS ARE ALLOWED AT A TIME.  I won't count the Public RP Threads, "The Lylat Luxury Hotel", "The Cornerian Bar" or "Outside The Bar".  However, I've noticed there are too many active threads here.  I'll allow them to stay open/active under a grandfather clause for now.

9.  NO SPAMMING.  If you want to talk out of character/off topic, i.e. (Where have you been!?) or (No, we're not there yet.) Those posts are okay, but please limit it.  After more than 2 consecutive Out Of Character posts, not accompanied by a character action by any player(s), take the Out Of Character Conversation/Discussion to that Role Play's Discussion Thread.

10. DO NOT DELETE POSTS UNLESS NECESSARY.  Deleted Posts don't magically disappear.  They can gum up the works if there are too many of those anywhere.  If you made a posting error, then EDIT that post.

**POSTING FORMAT RULES**

Please post in this manner:

EXAMPLE:

Fox checked his gear inventory one last time before heading out.

OR:

Lola finished primping and freshening up, before heading downstairs to greet her guests.

OR

Krystal answered the door.  "Falco!  Good to see you!  Come in!" she said, letting Falco inside.

Please have your posts be at least 1 sentence long, but not more than 4 paragraphs.

DON'T POST LIKE THIS:

*fires a charged shot* "I got another one!"

or

*spits out his drink* "This coffee tastes like mud!" 

Failure to abide by the main rules of SF-O, The Main RP Rules, MY rules, the additional rules included in an RP by its creator will get you a warning from the RP Creator and the RP Mod. Repeated Offense(s) Will Result in Being kicked out of the Role Play Thread, by either the creator OR the RP Mod, having the RP Thread locked, or even being banned from the RP Forum and its Child Boards.  Although I can't physically bar you from entering the RP Forum and its Child Boards, I can still BAN members who continue to become a problem here, or elsewhere.  If you are banned, but still keep coming into the RP Forum and its Child Boards and posting, I'll delete or edit your post(s) like this:

You are still banned from here.  GET OUT!

(Dammit, I can't get this "Moderated By" Feature to work right!)

and send you a warning.  I will also report you to the highers up.  Just because my powers as an RP Mod are limited, doesn't mean I still can't/won't exercise my duties within my jurisdiction to punish rule breakers, troublemakers, etc.  If Banned, you may still view the RP Forum, its Child Board, and all Threads and posts contained therein, BUT THAT'S IT.  VIEW ONLY.  If you post, then delete it later, I'll [probably] find out, and I WILL issue you a warning, report you, and extend your banishment.

I can also ban you for your behavior outside of the RP Forum, or even outside SF-O if I hear you are behaving in a negative manner towards others, be they members here, or members elsewhere.  If you send me or anyone here hate mail, or send ANY death threats or threats of a criminal intent, or slander, insult, flaming, or making fun of others, I will ban you from the RP Forum and report you for it.

Finally, if you think I'm being unfair, if you think I'm being a hardass, or you hate the way I'm doing things here, THEN RP SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are other places to RP.  No one is forcing you to RP here exclusively.

Now, for those of you confused about my policy on image posting in an RP, here's what I mean,

Example:

Falco's phone buzzed with a text message.

"Not her again..." Falco groaned and showed the picture from his phone to Fox.

Please don't do that.  Saying "Krystal's picture appeared on the screen" works just as well.

Please do not post pictures that hold little/no necessity to the RP.  If you could just as easily describe it, then describe it.  If not, then you may post an image (in compliance with SF-O's regulations).

Yes, however, you can ask the RP creator either via PM or, better yet, in the RP Discussion Board's RP Thread equivalent, asking the RP creator if you may join.  However, that doesn't mean the RP creator will say "Yes", it's up to that RP Creator whether they want you in or not.

Okay, let me break it down for ya':

Suppose you wanted to join the role play:

"Arwing Down: Leave no pilot behind"

Well, if you wanted to join that, and it has already started, you would go to the Child Board "RP Discussions"

and in that child board, you would look for a thread there titled

"Arwing Down: Leave No Pilot Behind RP Discussion"

or

"Arwing Down: Leave No Pilot Behind RP"

and post your request to join there.

For every RP in the main Role Play Forum, there is to be an RP Discussion for it in the Child Board "RP Discussions", that's a requirement.

Nice to see you're a RP mod, watch out for space rangers unless you can convince them they're just a toy and you are the deputy.

Not saying you will Julius, but don't let your powers get into your head. I've already seen enough good friends go down that way. They start Nice and cool, then turn into Jackasses because they realize they can mod others...(Armymen3do1 for example)
