Anyways....turns out the girl I was talking to (when I kind of brought up the religion issue...) already has a boyfriend. Im starting to think I'm just in the right place at the wrong time...

Any suggestions on how I might be able to tell if a girl has a boyfriend?

dont ask, it's really obvious what your intentions are if you ask. Insead, just listen to what she is saying. If she's got a man, he will come up 5 times in 10 minutes of conversation, especially if you ask her what's up, how was her weekend, etc etc

Just got back from a date with my GF.  We went Christmas shopping and had a nice romantic dinner afterward.  I haven't seen her for two weeks due to a Detroit trip two weekends ago and my car being in the garage last weekend.

Just do what my dad did, pretend not to care, ask if they have a boyfriend and if they say yes, then say okay and walk away, it worked for him

Yeah I don't how the teachers think they make hormone-driven 11-15 year olds do the most organized dance I've ever seen.

Also, the 8th graders got to skip the last 2 periods of school and watch a play of The Christmas Carol. Well before we walked down to the auditorium we were just hanging out in the classroom, everyone just got up from there assigned seats and went up to talk with friends. Yes she got up from here seat and sat next to me. We didn't but I got to spend the entire play sitting next to me.

Cheerleaders are more physically attractive than other girls the vast majority of the time.  As for cheerleading itself, I could really care less about that art lol

Last I heard of cheerleading was a conspiracy theory about people wanting to make a national sport, but because that would stop people selling uniforms and force teams to buy safty equipment they don't want it to happen.

As for cheerleaders being good looking, what is the cause? Do you need to have looks to be a cheerleader or does cheerleading and thus excersise make you good looking?

As for it being a big deal. Isn't that a bit shallow?

Cheerleaders generally have to have a certain physique, so I assume that's part of it. I also suspect that, though I have no evidence to support this, 'prettier' girls have a better chance of making the squad in general. Not to mention the classic fetish appeal of cheerleaders.

And yeah. it's shallow if that's all you care about. Caring about looks doesn't make you shallow, though. It's very difficult to have a romantic relationship with someone you're not at least a little bit attracted to physically.
