EazyIN
I looked at th 3DS. And these questions popped in mind. "Can it play normal DS games?" and "Can a normal DS play these games?"Meh, my DS is the old 2004 Style, and that thing has hit concret about 20 times, and It's almost time to retire it...BUT, if a normal DS can play these other games (i.e. SF643D) Then I won't bother with one. Maybe if 3DS software games did work for DS original, then possibly the 3D'd be removed which doesn't bother me. I'd just like to enjoy SF64 without hassling with eBay or Amazon, or just getting plain lucky.
DZComposer
"Can it play normal DS games?"Yes. Nintendo has repeatedly said 3DS will be backwards compatible with DS."Can a normal DS play these games?"No. 3DS has much more powerful hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if 3DS cards won't even fit in a DS.

DZComposer
Well I didn't see or go to E3 for the first part 3DS was the talk of the show, everyone was talking about it. You didn't need to be there. You just need to read the gaming press. Plus, the backwards compatibility was mentioned at GDC, when the 3DS was initially announced, so that's a fact that's been around for months. DarthDelgado
The question can also be related to the Wii. The Wii plays Gamecube games but the Gamecube can't play Wii games. It's like that with most consoles in a series.
