Board Games

I'm not talking about monopoly or cluedo, I mean real modern classics like Battlestar Gallactica, Pandemic, and Space Hulk.

What's your favourites? I like Arkham Horror but I'm kind of burned out on it atm. I'm really wanting some space hulk.

Oh, I've seen many I would really like to play. Sadly, I have never had anyone to play them with.

I love Risk in any kind of presentation, I've found that the lord of the rings suits it very well. There's another classic I got my hands on a decade or so ago, called Axis and Allies, it seemed to be like risk, but it had a bunch of rules and interesting things, it was almost like playing a RTS game.

AVGN plays many different obscure board games as board james! :D They're all pretty awesome :D. [As always, they do contain swearing and suggestive themes]

If Risk counts, then I have done that on a couple of ocasions. I've also looked into Axis and Allies previously, and it looks quite interesting indeed.

It doesn't really count as board games (even if it's often played on a tabletop) I also have a collection of Games Workshop miniatures and equipment. Enough to play small miniature wargames if I had someone to play them with.

I like warhammer, to expencive for me to afford, and to much of a time sink. Space Hulk is awsome though.

I liked kill Dr lucky, not much depth, but I think it's funny and is like the prequal to cludo.

What abut card games like Magic and Race for the Galexy?

Guest Para Astaroth

I never really understood how to play any of the Risk games, so I kept my distance from them.  I bought a Star Wars version, but it got all dusty and what not because I never really played it.

But, I do know how to play some of the others if people continue naming them.

Thread revival. Where's my thread nocromancy image? Anyway.

I'm not saying they're bad or anything, but almost noting but skill challenges, it can get tedious since they take a while to resolve. Especially when you have about six players.

Also, I agree with needing more green cards. I remember a long chain of cards that let you give an action to someone else. If they move, they take one action, if they don't move, they get two actions. It was long -_-

There is a rule you can't use an exetutive order to play and executive order to stop that, and you can only play 1 turn.

Diplomacy is the best game I've ever played. I tried Settlers of Catan, but that just confused me. And Risk was too slow for my taste. It's ok for a social event I guess if you're just chillin with some nachos and salsa, but my friends and I play Diplomacy hard core. I also use Diplomacy Online which is pretty sick.
