Harmony Descent
Chapter 8Kursed's turned her attention away from Abbagart; she did not feel too comfortable with the option he gave her. Several things rushed through her mind: Were the inhabitants of Sauria going to survive the onslaught if she went through with this? Would there be enough time to get to the Krazoa Palace and free the Spirits there? Could she use them instead of Abbagart? Numerous things kept popping in her mind and she soon was lost in her own thoughts and conflicts. "Kursed," Abbagart began, "I know this must be troublesome for you to hear, but I cannot find another alternative to bypass this." He walked over to her and knelt down beside her, placing a hand to her shoulder. "If you have any suggestions, then I will happily sit down and listen."Kursed did not reply. She simply closed her eyes momentarily, letting things set in, and she got up groaning with displeasure walking to the entrance to the cave."Kursed--""Stop, Abbagart," she insisted, holding a hand out behind her in front of him -- he stopped on command. Looking back to him with a stressful expression, she shook her head, "I think I will need some time to think this through.""Sure. But, I insist that I--""Privately," she interupted and turned back around. She began to walk towards the waterfall when Abbagart suddenly stepped in front of her. "May I please leave?" she asked, halfly annoyed and holding back her anger."I will, but you must understand: If we do NOT devise a plan to make this work, then this planet WILL be overthrown, and I am positively sure you do not want to see that coming to reality." Kursed looked away once more, knowing what he was saying was the utter truth. Her eyes started to wander a bit as emotions swelled inside her and she had to close her eyes again.Pushing Abbagart aside, Kursed stepped through the waterfall -- it drenched her entire suit and fur -- then walked up the stone walkway back where it met the warm, soft dirt. Walking down the newly set path, she walked back down until she stepped onto a wooden platform which led her down onto the beach near the Hightop stood, towering everything in Cape Claw. She walked over to the beachside where the water was rolling up and down the banks. Removing her boots and throwing them behind her into the hot sand, she began to walk into the water as the small waves crashed into her knees, then her thigh and up until it reached the lower parts of her hips. Letting her arms go free and hang behind her with her fingers spread open -- the small path she created from this followed from her hands -- until she stopped near the middle of the small lake. Sighing under her breath and slowly lowering herself into the water, she leaned back, letting her body go limp as she began to float in the water; her pink hair glistened in the sun, along with the water, and began to spread out around her head. Now, she began, thinking to herself, I am going to see if I can get all things crap out of my mind and see if I can find a way to get around what I just go myself into... As her body floated in the water, and her eyes remained shut, birds flew by her chirping in a chorus of sounds, insects buzzed by her and through the air, fishes would swim up and investigate her seemingly lifeless body in the water, then would poke at her gently. Kursed's tail, floating beside her, would flick from this and caused the fish to swim quickly away. While Kursed thought things through, the Hightop loomed it's long kneck over towards Kursed and looked slowly down to her. Sensing her troubled figure, it bent it's kneck in different directions around her body to see if it had known her from a previous time.Sensing something was around her, Kursed's ear flicked, along with her eyebrow twitching, and she slowly peeked at what was looming over her. Startled, she swashed in the water and started to quickly back away with widened eyes and ears hung back. By god, where did that thing come from?!?! she thought to herself. Due to her sudden reaction, the Hightop, too, was startled and quickly retreated it's head back."Hoooo, little one," it's assured her with a somewhat booming low voice. "I am not a threat to you, but an aid of some sorts.""Aid?!" Kursed repeated, still startled, "Then why are you here?!"The Hightop rose it's head and looked to the horizon in front of it, "I have been trapped here and emprisoned in this firm barricade around me for several years now; I have forgotten how long it has been since I have stretched my aching limps." Listening to the Hightop and realizing it to be of no harm, she rose up from the water, ears rotating back around and her posture loosening up."Well, is there anything that I can do to help?" She asked. The Hightop looked slowly back down to her with a curved kneck."I suppose there could be something for you to do. But I have my doubts of your return."Shrugging and shaking her head, "It doesn't matter; just tell me what I have got to do!""Very well," the Hightop responded. "These barricades that hold me imprisoned here are too much for my old joints to withstand. There is a good fellow that resides in the Lightfoot Village that could form an antidote to cure my joints for a time." It looked back down to Kursed, "His name is Cahl Smallfoot and lives near the outer residents of Lightfoot Village. I am more than sure you can spot him by his looks.""Sounds simple enough. I'll be on my--""I'm not finished, though," it continued and Kursed turned back to the Hightop. "There is minor detail that you need to know of that I am also sure that you know of.""Let me guess," Kursed began, tilting her head and placing her hands to her hips in the water. "The village has been enslaved. Am I correct?""Why, yes--""And you want me to somehow get past these guys without being detected, get the antidote from this 'Smallfoot' guy and give it to you so that you can get out of that huge restraint?" Kursed finished and huffed to herself. "You people here on Sauria are too easy to read. I'll be back in a few minutes with the antidote." As she began to walk back to the shore, she looked over her shoulder to the Hightop, "Just don't go anywhere while I'm gone," she sarcastically said with a grin and turned back around. Sighing to itself, the Hightop loomed it's head down to it's feet, "Kids these days... When can an old man such as myself get a break for once...?"Soon, a few minutes passed and Kursed was retracing her steps back through Cape Claw. As she neared the entrance, she began to hear talking from a distance that sounded like voices covered by a voicemask, so she pressed herself against the leaved wall as she approached the entrance. Peering slowly around the corner, she could make out vividly and distinguish the 'enslavers' from one another: Figures with little to no spikes on their armor and colors from blue to purple were low ranked; small to medium spikes on their armor and colors from red to yellow were medium ranked; large spikes with white armor were the highly ranked guards; no spikes with pitch black armor were highly ranked spec-ops."This is going to be a little bit tricky," Kursed began, wiping sweat building up near her forehead. "The blue and red guys shouldn't be too hard to get passed; the white and black ones are the ones I need to be worried about." Hunching over and creeping around the corner, she kept an eye on the enslavers as they exchanged glances to one another, the white armored ones stepped aside and let the blue to red armored enslavers walk through. Kursed soon stopped behind a tree and peered slightly around with an eye seeing what all was near the entrance to Lightfoot Village.Suddenly, there were gunshots and screams erupted from the village. Kursed shot her head towards the direction she thought she heard the screams and soon shouting ensued. More, but not many, gunshots echoed through the village as the shouting continued. Heart racing and desperate to help, Kursed could only sit with shocked eyes and listen to the screams of the villagers being killed with no means of aid whatsoever. She soon heard the guards at the entrance grunting and yelling to someone behind the gates and three Lightfoot were thrown from the entrance. Kursed could only watch in horror as what happened next was something that she will never forget:As the three Lightfoot were left outside their home village, the guards kicked them away from the gates they were clinging to and the three huttled together. One was holding something, but Kursed could not tell since one of the were blocking her. Now, she could see that this was a family of Lightfoot: A father, a mother, a daughter, and what seemed to be a newborn. The three begged to the guards to make the enslavers stop, but they only looked to one another and chuckled. One of the guards ordered the daughter to come to him. Due to common symptoms of fear, she resisted. The guard, now becoming more aggitated, walked over, grabbed her by the neck, and brought her over to the other guard. The father and mother now were pleading desperately to the guards to free their daughter, and astonishingly, they did. As their daughter was about to hug them, the guard that had held her by the throat rose his rifle up and released a round. Time slowed to Kursed: The gunshot echoed throughout the forest and the daughter fell limp into the parent's arms. The mother was now screaming her daughter's name while the guards only laughed. The father looked back up to the guards, stormed from his spot and the guard he was approaching simply slammed the bud of his rifle into the Lightfoot's head. The father hit the ground immediately and seemed to be knocked unconscious, but he tried to pull himself up. The enslaver then pulled him up until he was resting on his knees and head swaying due to being dazed. Now, the enslaver nodded to his comrade and he stepped over in front of the Lightfoot.Leaning over to the father, he seemed to ask him something, but the father only spat onto his mask. Seeing this as a sign, the enslaver pushed his rifle into the forehead of the Lightfoot and a round exploded out the back of the Lightfoot's head -- blood spewed behind his head. The mother screamed once she saw her husband viciously executed and the enslavers demanded to have whatever she had in her arms. Screaming more and clutching the wrapped infant in her arms closer to her body, the enslavers walked closer to her, chuckling to one another as they kept demanding. Soon, one struck the side of her head with his boot causing her to let the infant in her arms go free and the enslaver quickly snatched it up. Reaching out to it and desperately, along with screaming, to the enslavers to give her baby back, they simply said no and both fired several rounds into the mother -- her body flailing around from the rounds volleying into her. With just the baby left, the enslavers walked back over to their posts and tossed the baby aside. Hearing the baby scream from being hurt, the enslavers huttled over it, kicking it slightly and making it roll over and over from the blows. Watching this was too much for Kursed as she could only turn back around and lay against the truck of the tree and stare at the ground in front of her in utter shock. Not saying a word and tears welling up in her eyes, her mouth hung open as the screams were dulled out by the baby's screams. Now, all she heard were the laughter of the enslavers and the baby screaming. The torture lasted for a few more minutes until the baby soon was crying extremely loudly to the point it echoed in Kursed mind. Then, what Kursed had hoped would not happen and begged to herself not to happen came to reality: As everything grew quiet but the sound of the baby crying, it was silenced by the thunderous echo of a gunshot. Everything grew still and quiet around Kursed; her expression of shock; a tear rolled down the side of her cheek and matted the fur around it. Harmony Descent
Chapter 9The screaming continued even when the gunshots remained constant. Snapping back to reality, Kursed quickly wiped her face of tears and looked back around the tree trunk to the enslavers that had killed the family in front of her several yards away. Turning back around the trunk, she took a deep breath and felt around her outfit for any means of weaponry, but she felt nothing. Stopping, she looked up, Dammit,” She looked at her arm communicator but the screen and wiring were all fried due to the crash landing that she unwillingly got herself into. “Must have fried on impact. Got to find something to defend myself if I am going to get by these guys…”She peered around the tree trunk once more to make sure the guards were not looking so that she could sneak from tree to tree. Once the guards turned their attention to the gates once more, she stormed from around the tree -- feet pounding against the leaved surface of the ground -- then immediately made a diagonal dive back behind another tree since the guards turned back around. Kursed remained still as she listened for a chance to advance further. There was a breeze in the air as Kursed did not move a muscle, which became increasingly unbearable as time passed. Her fur moved gently in the direction of the wind, chills went throughout her body due to most of her body being exposed and she waited. The atmosphere around her seemed heavy and it almost felt as though an invisible force was stealing her breath right from her lungs. Sweat soon was welling up around her forehead as she now began to hear the guards walk away from their post, the sound of crunching leaves and branches as one made it's way toward her position. As Kursed caught sight of the guard, she heard what sounded like a voice echoing in her head, but could not decipher what it was trying to tell her. Who is this?! she demanded telepathically, waiting for a response.Be at ease, Kursed, the voice rang back, It is I, Abbagart! I witnessed their mindless slaughterment with my own eyes before -- no action is called for such drastic measures. I shall be the distraction while you muster your own path through their perilless defenses to save the Lightfoot, and get the man you are seeking out.And how do you know whom I am going after? What if I decide to--You won't, Abbagart thought back to her. I saw the way you spoke and acted around Luzar: You showed a caring manner with a promising look. I can also sense--That is find and wonderful. Just get these morons off my case while I get inside... Kursed telepathically retorted and slowly stood up from behind the tree was behind. Out the corner of her eye, she saw Abbagart zip onto a tree branch adjacent from her and watched the guard tentatively. As soon as the guard had passed the tree Kursed was behind, Abbagart silently slid down the trunk of the tree, then sprinted in the direction of the guard. Hearing Abbagart's footsteps approaching him, the guard turned it's head only to see Abbagart grabbing the gun and placing his foot around the front of the guard's feet. Before the guard could react, Abbagart quickly slid his foot, knocking the guard off balance and slamming into the ground -- leaves flew up around it. Abbagart threw the gun behind himself and readied himself as the guard got up."GO!!!" he called out to Kursed and noticing that Abbagart had things under control, she sprinted around the tree only to see the other guard look in her direction and raise it's rifle to her. She had to make a decision: Either dodge the round and it hitting either Abbagart or the other guard, or risk getting hit and taking out the guard somehow. As soon as she decided, the guard fired a round, she swiftfully sidestepped, and the round whizzed by both Abbagart and the guard he was engaged in combat with. The guard Kursed was advancing quickly upon switched it's rifle to 'full auto' and pulled the trigger. Kursed began to strafe the guard as it continued it's unrelenting spraying at Kursed with it's rifle blowing more steam out by the second.Suddenly, the rifle's battery flipped out and steam hissed out violently from the guard's rifle. Glancing to it momentarily in hesitation, the guard could only throw it to the side as he saw Kursed come to a stop and just stare at the guard, standing halfway to him with her head narrowed to him -- her eyes slightly glowing. The guard lunged at her with a straight fist and Kursed simply stepped aside as it's fist went into the leaved walls. Kursed kept her stare at the guard as it grunted and pulled it's fist back out. Now, it reared back and threw a it's right leg around which Kursed saw immediately coming, and easily cartwheeled over it. Landing, she glared at the guard as her pink her rolled down over her face. "......What you did was wrong.....!"The guard regained it's balance and readied itself again, "What are you talking about, you hairy pup?!" Rising to her feet, she continued to glare at the guard, "....You know EXACTLY what I am talking about.... Don't play dumb with me, murderer..." The guard, now realizing what she was referring to, chuckled victoriously to itself and held it's hand out towards the four dead Lightfoot."THESE two, I presume? You are here to avenge these pathetic things because I killed them without a reason???" The guard laughed and looked back to Kursed, "Then you obviously are more delirious than you seem.""....Taunt me all you want... You are NOT leaving here alive," Kursed angrily responded and began to walk towards the guard. "I will make sure of that!""We will see, little one!" the guard announced and threw a heavy punch towards Kursed, which she seemingly dodged without ease. Before she could react or respond, a heavy force flung her several feet away from the guard, rolling on the ground until she stopped. Looking up and gritting her teeth, she realized that it had swung it's arm back and made contact with her. She then proceeded to get up, but a sharp pain coursed through her left rib cage. Gripping it and groaning in pain, she felt moisture on her ribs and looked back to the guard. Seeing that it had it's arm bent up to it's face, she saw a reddish color stained on it's forearm band, which had a blade attached to it. It licked it and chuckled to itself as it looked back to Kursed."Great...! Now, I got a broken rib cage along with a deep cut in that area...! Just freaking perfect....!" Kursed grumbled to herself and slowly got up. Suddenly, the guard was upon her and a tremendous force grabbed her throat, and slammed her into the leaved wall -- going further into it until she met a stoned wall that caused the oxygen in her lungs escape. She then was pulled out from it and dropped momentarily until her chest met the heavy steel knee pad of the guard; she was flung several more feet away and came to rest on her back. She now heard the guard running towards her, it's footsteps heavy and distinguishable, and quickly looked to her left to see a sharp branch that had been torn from the tree from what seemed to be an enslaver passing by earlier. Looking above herself, she saw the guard rear back with a fist and thrust it down -- she immediately grabbed the branch and evaded the blow as it connected into the ground, and quickly plunged the branch into the guard's throat. Holding it there as the guard gagged and gargled out yellow blood from it's mouth, more of it rolled down Kursed's arm from it's throat and some from it's mouth dripped onto her face. Breathing it's last, it went limp and it's massive body fell onto the fallen tree trunk that Kursed retrieved the branch from. Looking to it with a dark manner, yellow blood oozed down the side of the trunk and from dripped from the branch she held into her hand, which also was covered in the guard's blood color. She now walked over and jammed the branch into the back of the now dead guard's neck for good measure, then walked off.As she approached the gate, the guard Abbagart had been combating with slammed into the ground behind her in a large dirt cloud, which engulfed her as well. The smell of freshly dug up dirt filled Kursed's nostrils as the cloud hung for a bit and soon vision regained itself to Kursed. Abbagart then zipped down onto the ground from the sky and stepped over to the now finished guard. "By the Krazoans, that was fairly easy," he told himself and looked back to Kursed. "Are you ready to--" he began but was stopped to the sight of Kursed bleeding profusely from her left rib cage. "Are you alright?!""Mmmph!! Does it LOOK like I am alright to you?" Kursed painfully responded, holding the wound and kneeling down. "Damn bastard put a number on me... And I believe he broke a few... URGH!!""Just take your hand away from it and remain still! I can heal it with my Krazoan--""Great, great...! Just... FIX it already...! I am having a hard time keeping myself from going into shock as it is...!" Kursed interrupted and Abbagart quickly knelt down beside her. He placed his hands over her wound, which made her cringe and groan aloud, but he kept a firm grip on it. Soon, a blueish glow flourished around the wound for several moments until it soon vanished. He took his hands away and stood up, helping Kursed."There, that should improve things. Now, shall we proceed inside to ward off these disposeables?" Abbagart insisted, looking to Kursed."I could not be anymore ready," she responded back and they both turned to the door. "But first," she said to herself, turned, walked over to the rifle the guard she had fared with and picked it up. "I am going to need this.""Very well. Shall we continue then?" Abbagart said, turned halfly to her. Slapping the battery back in and smirking to Kursed, she responded, "You first."

Harmony Descent
Chapter 10The two began to walk towards the entrance of the Lightfoot Village. Kursed, rifle clutched in her hands and walking being Abbagart, whom had his glowing aura around his body and rose his hand up to the gate. His hand then glowed brighter to the point Kursed had to squint her eyes, but he abruptly stopped. He looked further to the gate and then back to Kursed a bit confused."What is it?" She asked him. "A gate?!" He exclaimed. "Lightfoot Village never had a gate that I knew of.""Well, now it does," Kursed responded, "Now, go on a do your thing so we can get out of here!" Agreeing with Kursed, Abbagart once again rose his hand to the gate, glowing brightly, it suddenly it ripped from it's hinges, and was thrown with tremendous force away from the two. The two then proceeded inside Lightfoot Village and was caught off guard by what they saw. But, Kursed had a gut feeling she was going to see something like this: Dead bodies spread all over the place. Even children before their teen ages were among the dead. Walking around, Abbagart just looked at the swarm of dead bodies as Kursed just followed him with no emotion whatsoever."This... This is HORRIBLE! How heartless are these enslavers?? I knew they are relentless in taking over worlds, but this is going over the line!" Abbagart explained. Kursed just grunted and continued walking. He looked back to her, "Do you not agree with me??!""How should I know? I never even met these beings before..." She responded. "All you are telling me is news to me. Just keep walking." Caught off guard by Kursed's 'non-caring' reaction, Abbagart did as he was told. Screams could still be heard in the distance, but it was soon becoming more coherent as they continued. They walked on until there were no more bodies around them, but the ground beneath them became more muddy and soggy. Soon, they were walking into a swamp with it's water level rising an inch by the second. Soon, they were walking in waist-lengthed water. The sound of native frogs, crickets, and other insects soon grew to the point where the screaming was drowned out. But, Kursed could still hear them with her telekinesis."Do you know where the location of the village people are from here? I have seemed to lost the trail." Abbagart asked with his explanation.Kursed looked to him sourly, "And I thought you knew this place like the back of your hand, Abbagart." Abbagart's ears just simply lowered in defeat as he heard Kursed's remark. "It's just still a ways ahead of us. I will tell you when we are near it." Acknowledging her, Abbagart continued on with Kursed a few feet behind him. The smell of burning smoke soon was upon their nostrils the screaming soon grew louder as the insects songs faded. Eyes glowing in the somewhat dark environment, Kursed kept her glance on the trail in front of Abbagart while her thoughts remained fastened on her main objective. As they grew further into the swamp, the environment around Kursed started swirl. Shaking her head somewhat and blinking, Abbagart's figure soon was blurring along with everything she was looking at in front of her. Suddenly, everything went black and all Kursed could see was the pitch blackness. "Where am I???" She asked, her voice echoing like she were inside a cave of some sorts. "What's going on????!!!" Suddenly, a beam of white light engulfed Kursed where she stood; her body illuminated by it's brilliant glow. Panting profusely, she looked around in a panic, but all she could see was just darkness. No environment, no people; nothing. Soon, a voice emerged from within the darkness:"Ohhh, how pitiful it is to see you standing there... In the luminance of light... And wondering WHERE in the galaxy you are..." the voice cackled."Where's there???!!! SHOW YOURSELF!!!" Kursed demanded, looking around frantically."BE SILENT!!!" The voice erupted. Kursed froze in her tracks by the sudden response. Eyes looking around and her breathing hasting, the voice continued. "You WILL learn your place when I tell you to... Little girl." Kursed could only grit her teeth at the voice's remark and clenched her fists also. "But first," the voice began and the figure slowly emerged from the shadows in the form of Kursed, but with black and red artery-like vines all over it's body, "I'll show myself to you so you can see whom you are speaking to."Kursed, shocked by the doppelganger of herself in front of her, stumbled put the words, "Who are you?""'Who am I', you ask? Well," it chuckled, "I'm you, Kursed. I've been inside you since day one. Growing more powerful by the years, feeding off of your anger and taking over at times.""So, you are basically my doppelganger?""Listen more thoroughly before you operate that furry trap of yours," it snapped back, quickly leaning in to Kursed's face. They were so close their noses almost touched and they stared at one another directly in the eyes, except the figure's pupils and iris' were a vibrant purple and the outer was black. "I'm you, like I said before. But I'm not going to repeat myself again. So, let's get down to business." It suggested and began to slowly walk around Kursed. "Remember when you fought that metal version of yourself named 'Meta-Kursed'? I took over once you realized you couldn't fight her off in your current state. I managed to wear her down enough so that you could finish her off. I was the one that gave you your strength. I was the one that forced you to kill. And I was the one that keeps you intact. Without me, you are worthless and a helpless soul that is bound to be destroyed by another.""What exactly do you want...?" Kursed asked, keeping her eyes on the figure as it circled her slowly and menacingly."'What' do I want?" it asked and looked back to Kursed. Raising it's hand to her own forehead, her head twitched quickly and Kursed suddenly was flooded with violent stinging all over her body to the point she was groaning loudly, and was kneeling on the ground clutching her body with her pink hair veiling her face. The figure slowly looked down to Kursed, "I don't want anything. I already have what I need. You."Kursed struggled to look up to figure as the pain remained constant throughout her body, "M...M-meee-ee??! Wha... What are you... URGHHH... What are you talking about.... UGH!!!""Come now, dear Kursed. You should know EXACTLY what I'm talking about." it responded and knelt down in front of Kursed. "You're mine, Kursed. Until you overcome your darker self that I will soon take over, I'm in control over you. Over time I will let you decide some things, but I'm deciding from now on WHAT you do and WHERE you go." It then rose back to it's feet and removed it's hand from it's face, which caused the pain inside Kursed to dissipate. Kursed then got to her feet and felt all over to her amazement it vanished instantly. "But if you resist me even the slightest, I'll make sure of it this vessel is mine. If you obey, then we won't have any problems, now will we?""I do not suppose so." Kursed responded."Gooooooood! Now, do we have a deal?" The figure asked and extended it's hand out to her, but palm facing upwards. Kursed looked down to it's hand and wondered what would happen if she trusted this 'thing'. "Remember: We're the same being. What you think, I can hear. What I think, you hear. But, chances are what I think will have already been reality whereas yours would still be echoing in our heads." Kursed cringed at what it said."Yes, we do. What other choice do I have? I cannot resist you. Even if I do, I am a goner...""That's what I like to hear! Now, place your hands on top of mine and we can become one again." It said and Kursed slowly and hesitantly began to lower her hand over the figure's. Before she placed it down, the figure grasped it and pulled Kursed in violently. Soon, their bodies were merging and all that was hear before Kursed regained consciousness was what the figure exclaimed to her:"You're mine, Kursed."Soon, Kursed's hearing was regaining and all she could hear were Abbagart's frantic chanting of her name. They were in a much more panic mannor than before. As she slowly opened her eyes, Abbagart's face lit up and helped her back to her feet. "Thank the Krazoans, you are alright!""Whuh-what happened...?" She asked, rubbing her head and it lowered. "You suddenly just passed out randomly. I do not know what overcame your senses, or anything, but I sensed your spirit slipping slightly. So, I turned around and your body just limply fell into the water. That's when I shook you and began to ask if you were alright. Since you did not answer my pleas, I drug you all the way until we came to the embankments and laid you there. I used what little Krazoa powers I had to help you regain your consciousness. Greatfully, it worked!""Yeah, I guess so..." Kursed responded, looking behind herself to the swamp behind herself. "How far are we from where we need to be?" Abbagart looked halfly in the other direction to the now village ablaze and the glow of the flames illuminating the both of them."We are there, Kursed." She then turned around and stared at the burning village as the screams were now louder than ever. Stepping a little to the side of Abbagart, she just stared at it. "I suppose we should go and rescue whom all is still alive.""Yes," Kursed agreed, and looked over to Abbagart. Her eyes flashed a vibrant purple as she stared at him, "Yes, we should." The Destroyer
Wow. I'm not a fan of Kursed believe it or not. But the title just stuck me, and so far I've read 8 chapters.. Hope you continue :D
Harmony Descent
Sorry for the sudden hiatus on this fanfic. I know there's plenty of you wanting me to continue this and I will soon. Just give me a little time to tetras some things and regain my ideas of the plot -- kind of lost touch of what all was going to happen ;
Harmony Descent
Chapter 11 As both Kursed and Abbagart stepped out of the murky swamp, the screams coming from within the burning village began to bellow out even louder as the two closed the distance. The crackling of burning wood, straw, and other vegetation grew louder and louder; men, women, and children screaming becoming more intense as they burned. Due to the low screaming, Kursed's hearing began to ring, causing her to briefly close her eyes from the uneasy sensation. The heat emitting from the burning village also began to heat up both Kursed and Abbagart's skin, and fur. While they continued, Abbagart's Krazoan senses told him that a dark presence was overwelming Kursed and his vision became translucent for a few brief moments. Seeing a dark violet pulsating around her, Abbagart took in a quick breath and his translucent vision quickly dissipated. By the gods, he shockingly thought to himself, judging by the amount of energy being released from her aura, and the shading, the threat level I had originally had of Kursed has risen ten-fold! I must keep a watchful eye for any destructive acts she may commit. He kept a variable distance from Kursed as she began to be within steps of the entrance. Stop, Kursed, the dark entity within Kursed spoke out and she stopped at the entrance to the village -- staring out at the burning homes built around the treetops. That Krazoan descendant 'Abbagart' is lagging behind. Do keep an eye on him, will you? He's none of my concern, Kursed thought back to the entity within herself, I'm here to save however many Lightfoot I can-- Not if I have a say in the matter! It's either you LISTEN to me, or you will risk this planet being decimated!! Grunting under her breath due to the entity's choice, she quickly looked down to the side. Your choice: The lives of this planet are depending on you; within your grasp of being spared and ultimate extinction. Closing her eyes and her body language becoming obvious to Abbagart of mere intense frustration, Kursed sat for a moment to decide what she wanted. Knowing she was here to save the Lightfoot was one notion, but there was also the other of simply killing them; For she knew that somewhere within this burning village were civilians barely alive and hanging on to what little life they have left. Then, there would be ignoring the entity within herself; the ultimate demise of the planet and no longer seeing any friendly faces on the very rock she stood on. No more pleasant sights; no more beautiful nights; nothing. Just the chunks of rubble floating in space from what was left of the planet. So, right there where she stood, she decided -- her body language loosening up now. Fine, she told the entity, I'll go along with your 'idea'. But, if it involves any lives being taken... Why should it matter to you, Kursed? Hm? You've killed many more like these people and you have not shown the slightest of remorse. Even if they do in fact die, their lives are meaningless to your very own. YOUR life is being held inside my own hands; the slightest mistake you make, I take over and do as I please! Soon, her hearing began to come to as the entity sent her one final message: Do NOT test me! Her hearing came to and she quickly opened her eyes only to see that Abbagart had gone ahead to help the people of Lightfoot village. Taking in a deep breath through her nostrils and exhaling, she ran through the entrance into the village. As she continued on, a chunk of a home above her to her right came crashing down and she quickly shielded herself as small bits landed on the path. Now shielding her face from the smell of smoke and the debris falling around her, she climbed up the ladder of a home where she heard some screaming coming from. As she climbed, one of the villagers tumbled to the water below, life taken and scorched from the flames; Kursed simply turned her attention back to the home above her. She reached the top only to find that the last surviver of that home was on their knees, fingers halfly clutched and body shaking from the flames melting the skin from their body. Soon, they crumpled to the floor twitching slightly until they became motionless before the others. Kursed could only watch the dying villager and look away as their life slowly slipped away. Looking to the other homes around her, and the screams filling her ears, her expression changing to dispair as the screams were the only thing echoing within her head. Grasping the sides of her head and face contorting in agony, she collapsed onto her knees, sobbing to herself. Why should I even try? She questioned her actions and continued on: What am I achieving here? They are all going to die regardless. There's nothing I can really do now and even if I do manage to be there in time save one, it dies there in front of me; I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't have agreed to help. It's... It's becoming too overwelming! Let me take over then, the entity spoke to Kursed as it manifested itself beside her. I can make quick work of this and you won't have to worry about any of it. "Not... Not 'worry about it'?" Kursed repeated what the entity said, but her voice breaking up, "Not WORRY about it?? NOT WORRY ABOUT IT??!! I CAN'T STOP WORRYING ABOUT ANY OF THIS!!! EVEN IF YOU HELP ME, I'M STILL LEFT WITH WHAT YOU DID!!! HOW CAN YOU BE POSSIBLY 'HELPING' ME--" Kursed was cut off as she was pressed up against the outer wooden walls of the burning home. By making sure you emerge alive and not wasting your life on any of these people. They should have been more prepared and well suited for a situation such as the one they have themselves in. Would you want to be in their body while they died a slow, agonizing death by fire and their body slowly melting from the excrutiating flames? What purpose are you accomplishing just by saving them and they turn their backs on you the second they can? Who can you REALLY trust within this whole planet besides me? Obviously in a dire situation, Kursed, holding onto the entity's arms as it had her pinned to the wall with its forearm pressed against her upper neck, only looked at it with a look of defeat. "...No one." Precisely. Have I ever lied or tried to backstab you? "N-not that I know--" Then WHY are you doubting me? Kursed became silent for a few moments while the entity kept it's demented stare upon her. Unable to muster any words out, Kursed could only look away only to have the entity force her eyes to lay back upon its very own. It's easy to twist you, Kursed, it told her and leaned in until it was at her ear, I can use it to my advantage. Suddenly, the entity disappeared and Kursed collapsed onto the flooring on her knees, but caught herself as her upper body was falling forwards. Hands planted on the flooring and panting while the heat grew more entense around her. Gathering her spirits and standing back up, she looked out as she watched Abbagart try to revive one of the villagers, but to no avail. She could see his expression of sadness as he stood up and climbed down the ladder towards the ground, then made his way to another home. See how he's wasting his energy, time, and life for these people? What good is it for him if he knows they are evidently going to die? He's like a newborn expecting a toy only to find it broken. "Then, why try," Kursed muttered out as she watched him, "Why do all this and not have any positive benefits?" You're a quick learner, Kursed -- I'm not surprised. Don't you think it would have been easier to just not even try to save them? "It would have been easier for everyone if they had seen this coming..." Kursed added on and climbed down the ladder until her feet touched the ground. She then proceeded to walk while Abbagart was running up ladder after ladder for any survivors. "It's funny how they can be so strong and yet they did not even see THIS hit them." She then chuckled as she looked up to another home and seeing two villagers spinning around on fire with their arms flailing, screaming, and soon collapsing onto the flooring, "They're strong, but not strong enough." Then why waste your time with these weaklings and focus on something more of a challenge? Knowing exactly what the entity was referring to, her eyes locked onto Abbagart while he continued his current duty. You've seen how powerful he is; you know what he's capable of. The power he has; the energy he has stored within himself. You can make that your own and become even stronger than you already are! You just have to defeat him and the power will be yours. Kursed then pulled out the rifle strapped around her chest and slowly aimed down the sights. You're going to shoot him as to fight him hand-to-hand? "Why not? It's easier," Kursed replied in a dark tone as she closed one eye and the other having a clear shot at him. NO! Suddenly, Kursed's arms flew to the side as three round escaped from the barrel and landing around Abbagart. Noticing the sound of the rounds flying towards him, landing in the earth around him, and also hearing the gun go off, he looked over at Kursed as she began threw the gun off to the side and was holding the sides of her head. "By the gods. She cannot allow that presence to assume control! I must not allow it to happen," he said to himself and began to run to Kursed, only to see her eyes glow a vibrant purple and blown several feet away. Skidding to a stop and looking up to Kursed, he witnessed the entity taking over Kursed and the dark violet aura he saw before become more apparent and flow around her. Hearing her constant yells of agony and frustration, he tried to call out to her, but it felt as though something was holding him back from saying it. Suddenly, Kursed lifted off the ground while rearing her body back and still holding the sides of her head. The flames around the near home soon began to lean towards her and they soon seemed to envelope around her as she slowly descended back to the ground. She brought her body forward while still holding the sides of her head and trying to fight the entity off, but fighting a losing battle. You tested me, now you WILL learn, Kursed! You will learn-- "Not to under-estimate me." Kursed's voice was now mixed in with a lower pitched tone that had a watery meld to it. Kursed's hands lowered and her body rose up. Her head the leveled out to Abbagart and her eyes flashed a deep violet while the dark aura florished around her; the flames around her forming a circle around her as she began to walk towards Abbagart. "Kursed?" Abbagart asked, a determined yet nervous tone in his voice. "Kursed can't hear you now, welp. Forget what will happen to these people; you face me now." The entity said and Kursed's hand rose off to the side aimed at a home. Sneering, a dark energy ball escaped from her palm and slammed into the tree, causing a large explosion that kicked up a large amount of wind which made Abbagart shield himself from the blast, the flames leaning away from the explosion, and the now possessed Kursed's fur and hair flailing in the opposite direction of the explosion. As the wind died down, the flames formed a wall around the area that Kursed had blown away and the debris clattered around the two. "By the high spirits of the Krazoas, I demand you to speak your name!" Abbagart announced to Kursed and stood ready for an attack. Noticing that Kursed had lowered her head and chuckled a bit then her head rose back, and bellowed laughter, he snared, "What is it that is so humorous?" Soon, the entity slowly stopped laughing and looked back to Abbagart, "You," It then began to walk towards Abbagart and he stood his ground. "I don't have to tell you anything; you demand and you shall NOT receive." It made Kursed's other arm extend out and flung another dark energy ball into another home that blew off a small section of it that collapsed near Abbagart; he easily dodged it as the debris flew towards him, and he swiped a few away and dodged the others. "You try to save, yet you fail miserably." It flung another dark energy ball into another home same thing happened with Abbagart escaping. "Like everything else that has come before you," it spoke and motioned Kursed's arm towards Abbagart, and fired off a ball towards him which he easily leaned to the side, and it exploding behind him, sending dirt and debris fly from behind him, "You will fall like they have." Harmony Descent
Chapter 12 As the village continued to burn and crumbled around them, the fire soon began to spread from the Lightfoot Village beginning with a nearby trees outlining the village. Due to the excessive wind building up, the fire seemed to spread even at a greater speed than usual -- a howl amid the wind traveling along with the spreading wildfire. But, within the village, the entity posed a greater threat for Abbagart since it threatened his very existence and would be the last of a small handful of Krazoan descendants. Several things began to run through his mind as the entity had assumed full control over Kursed: Whether to escape and try to stop the wildfire from spreading any further, or risk the woodlands of Sauria to be burned to asunder, and risk life and limb to rid Kursed of the entity already controlling her. But, he had a problem with this: If the powers of my Krazoan ancestores decides to awaken, I shall resort to less force due to it becoming too relentless. He kept a determined stare at the slowly advancing entity-controled Kursed while standing his ground, but his left eyebrow tensing due a realization to his powers. If they go beyond my body's control, Kursed's soul will be relinquished from her very vessel -- that I shall NOT allow! She must undertake a path she is destined to partake, but as of now, her choices are hendered. I need to break down this demented wall obscuring her trek! The energy field around entity became more apparent to Abbagart as he could feel the force hendered against him, trying to cause him to stumble, but held his ground. Sensing that negotiating with the entity is beyond reasoning, he only had one of two choices to decide from, and quickly made up his mind. Clenching his fists and closing his eyes, he focused the hidden energy within himself: A light blue aura beginning to pulsate around him and spiral around him. Crossing his arms in front of himself, he shot his eyes open -- glowing a vibrant blue -- and extended them out to the sides. The resulting blast of energy caused a small quake that halted the entity's approach to Abbagart. "I fully understand your acts of violence," Abbagart announced to the entity as the wind continued to pick up, "But hendering a being's will to control their own will is an act I shall not stand and let go unscathed!" "You dilluted fool," the entity chuckled and shook its head, "Kursed allowed me to assume control over her; she decided it was pointless in saving these villagers when you, of all people, knew they were going to die." "Making an effort is better than standing on the side-lines and reticuling a being risking their own lives to rescue another's." Abbagart readied himself and a small shockwave burst around him as his body had the light blue aura flowing around him, "Honor among the hero; cowardice for the villain. Words that will be repeated in verse for the triumph of the righteous!" Snarling and reading itself for an attack, the entity growled, "Your dialectual speakes are severely outdated!" With that, it zipped across the ground and was upon Abbagart within mere hundredths of a second. Throwing a quick swipe towards the side of his head, Abbagart raised his arm and deflected it against his forearm, sending the entity's arm retreating a bit and leaving it wide open for a counter-attack. With a clenched fist, he extended it quickly forwards into the entity's chest and sent it crashing into the earth with a mild thud which caused the fire around it to wave out as it landed. Raising to one knee and grunting from the blow, the entity readied for another attack while Abbagart remained in his stance from the counter-attack -- eyes trained onto the entity. Again, the entity zipped upon onto Abbagart, but this time sending out a flury of blows which he easily blocked by watching the entity's body language. With a swift kick aimed towards his head from the side, Abbagart bent a knee and slid the other to his side while lowering his body at the same time, dodging the blow and causing the entity to momentarily lose its balance. After regaining its footing, the entity was about to send out another combo attack, but Abbagart was not where it had last seen him. Scanning the burning the buildings around it for him, it would occasionally throw a dark energy ball into a house to make sure he wasn't there, resulting in the home being obliterated. Soon, Abbagart appeared above it with an energy ball of its own, but the entity sensed it at the last second and moved out of the way as Abbagart swung his arm, missing the entity by mere inches and the energy ball slicing the ground beneath him. It dissipated once Abbagart froze momentarily from his own attack. "Well avoided, I do say," Abbagart boasted, looking around to the entity and smirking ever so slightly, "But not completely." "What--" The entity was cut off as a light blue energy ball hurdled from around a burning building and slammed into its back, sending it towards Abbagart -- it cringed and flinched from the undetectable attack. Abbagart saw his moment and quickly formed another energy ball, merging it around his hand and threw a straight blow with curled fingers. Almost as if of sync whenever Abbagart began to extend his arm, the entity quickly grabbed his forearm from the side and flipped over him. Landing on the other side and its arm becoming weapon made of energy, it swung around only to have Abbagart bend backwards and slice across his chest. The resulting blow sent fur fly and he quickly curled his body, extending a leg as he did so, and it slammed into the right shoulder of the entity. Caught off by the sudden blow, the entity recoiled from the blow and Abbagart flipped himself over, and swung another kick while balancing himself on his hands. The entity retreated its head back, which caused Abbagart to spin around a bit, but retained its feeting while jumping back from the entity in his ready stance. Starling and panting slightly, the entity glared at Abbagart as a small cut opened along its cheek and blood started to trinkle down it -- the fur turning a blood red. Noticing it, Abbagart stated, "I do believe your vessel has leaking, entity. Try to dodge more effectively next time." Looking down at its cheek and quickly swiping the blood off, it growled under its breath, "...Shut up..." As Abbagart studied the entity's body language, it was plainly obvious that it was going for another attack, but this one would be twice as weak as the others. Clearly, the entity was wearing down Kursed's body and it was beginning to shut off on it. Seeing his moment to end it, stood up from his readied position and stood with his hands by his sides and head hung over. Not sure what to make out of its advisary's sudden stance change, the entity stood a bit shocked and quickly retained its starled look. "You don't fool me. I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO COUNTER ATTACK!!!" It bellowed out as the roaring fire began to become louder. Abbagart didn't move -- he stood as still as a stone. "Fine, I'll make the next move like I always have." With that, it sprung from its spot and zipped along the ground until it was upon Abbagart once more. Right before it threw its blow, Abbagart shot his eyes open, grabbed the entity's arm and flung it in the direction it was going but slightly faster, and was stopped by an extremely powerful knee to the gut which sent out a thunderous thud followed by a small shockwave that blew the fire away from them. Unable to catch its breath and speak, the entity was frozen in a recoiled position while Abbagart stared off. Looking back down to it, he rose his arm and flung elbow into the side of its head, which sent it crashing to the ground. As Kursed's body laid motionless on the ground, he watched as the dark violet aura dissipate and Kursed beginning to groan. Forcing his powers back into slumber, he walked over and knelt down beside her, reaching down to help her up. Sensing the entity had left her, he aided her to her feet while asking if she were alright. She simply assured him with a weak nod. Nodding in return, he told her that the wildfire was spreading even more rapidly and that it would be only a matter of ten hours for the entire forests of Sauria were set ablaze. He also told her that it would be best if they started now than waste time recuperating from their recent battle. Looking up to Abbagart panting, Kursed's eyes flashed a vibrant purple and she walked up beside him. "I agree," she told him, looking off at the now spreading wildfire reaching towards to skies, "I'll follow you since you know this place better than myself." "Certainly and I will see if any of the locals shall aid us in our heroic endevours," he added, looking off to surviving Lightfoot tending to the young and weak. As he began to walk, he started to speak about how the Lightfoot should recover from this, but it would be a slow, agonizing pace. Once they had traversed through the swamp and were at the gates to the Lightfoot Village, he announced, "It's only a matter of time befor--" Kursed spun him around with the vibrant purple glow in her eyes, and thrusted a powerful blow to his chest. Obviously shocked by the blow, he froze as he felt her fist digging further and further into his chest. Staring into her vibrant, defiant and purple eyes, he could only slightly gasp and hack as Kursed's fist drove into his chest even further. Soon, his chest plates were cracking, cracking, cracking, until it fractured greatly, and a loud pop indicated his chest was broken. Knowing this, Kursed drove her fist with even more force than she did into his chest, resulting in sickening popping and snapping of his bones as her fist drove all the way until it broke through his rib cage, and exited out the other side of his body. Opening his mouth to yell in agony, Kursed quickly slapped her hand over his mouth while she held her arm through his chest. "Like Kursed, you're easily fooled," the entity remarked in a dark tone and slowly retreated Kursed's arm back into his body. It manuvered through Abbagart's organs until it reached his still beating heart. "Ahhhh, there it is... Still beating, huh?" Abbagart could only slightly grunt with dulled vision and blood escaping both around Kursed's arm and down his body, and from the exit wound. Hacking into Kursed's hand and blood escaping from around it, his body began to tremble and twitch due to him losing an aweful amount of blood. Tilting its head, the entity spoke once more: "Not as intimidating as you were now. Just to make sure you don't interfere with us anymore," the entity then squeezed his heart tighter and tighter until it bursted inside his body. His expression suddenly went into immense shock and his eyes rolled into the back of his head as the blood continued to pour from his body and mouth. Then, his body went limp and the entity retreated Kursed's arm back out of his body -- it slumping down to the side with no signs of life. "And just to make sure you don't come back, I'll just go on ahead and do this:" The entity's aura quickly flucuated around itself and held its hand over his body. Then, it placed its hand onto his shoulder and grapsed it as the aura flowed onto Abbagart's lifeless body, but becoming engulfed in a dark purple-ish flame. As it consumed him, his body slowly melted into a black heap of skeletal-matter, and the entity simply touched it with its finger, and it burst into a small cloud of ash that blew into the wind. The entity stood up and looked at the smoke clouds filling the sky, and the crisp smell of the smoke filling its nostrils. "Time to find something worth my time here. Obviously watching the fire spread will get tiresome." As it sat and thought for a minute, several ideas entered its mind: "I could slaughter the tribes of this planet and just blow it to bits, but that would take several days -- maybe months; I could go to the Force Point Temples and remove the stones which would cause several continents to separate off, and I would also have to destroy-- that's it!" The entity sneered at its sudden idea and looked off. "Decimation of the Krazoa Palace, coming right up!"

Harmony Descent
Well, I've just decided to drop the story anyways. Seems as though I just haven't had the urge or "magical touch" to keep this thing going. I believe my comic I'm doing on DeviantArt will do a little better since I can do much better by drawing things out. Anyways, sorry for those who have been patiently waiting on the next chapter -- I'm SO very sorry It was fun while it lasted...
