well there was no spelling on the test so i was fine :)

Isn't that fact just a tad sad though? That they DON'T test your competence in the written language? :P

Well, since this is my senior year of high school, and I'm starting over without my friends I've had this time around, I'm going to work my ass off (Meaning I'm aiming for straight A's.) and will hardly talk to anyone at school -- mainly because they LOVE drama and won't look after each other.  So, I say hell with them and I'll just hang by myself and work my goddamn ass off until my eyes bleed and fall off, thus causing my brain to overload and explode out my ears.

.......THAT WAS THE MOST EPIC DESCRIPTION OF ANY TYPE OF WORK EVER! It's unfortunate that once you do that, most of the things you've worked on won't ever help in your life again, except on more tests.

You gotta see that certain schools will look at your grades and SAT/ACT scores, so I'm going to work THAT hard to get accepted, but I'm going into a military school, so it really doesn't matter if I work my ass off or not :/

Blah. They're rebuilding our high school so I have to go to a school that looks like a war zone.  They're almost finished at least, but last year was awful.

A friend of mine once got an "F+" in Math, literally.  His teacher said "I'm not trying to be a smartass, he's a good student, he participates, in class, does his homework...but that's only 1/3 of the grade, the other 2/3 of the grade are passing the tests and quizzes, and he flunks them all..." but that's because my friend doesn't test well.

Though I heard some schools in America and some schools in Europe use the "F+" grade, if you get a score of 57%-59.999999999% in your grade score, they deem it "F+".

I'm in 11th grade and i just completed my first week of school, with a U.S. History test. This week was kind of fast due to Monday being labor day. I got to see my friends again( alot look like they've change over the summer both in looks and...behavior.) My teachers are pretty cool. Lol, i got to show how smart i was when we were playing a game before the test and in the end we all got to have a word bank to do said test. I soo nailed thatc test. Child's play.

Not in this day and age.  It's all about who you know that gets you the money and jobs....at least here in America, anyways.

I'm talking about the real world, man...in this day and age, to get ahead in the real world, It's all about who you know that gets you the money and jobs....at least here in America, anyways.

College Diplomas used to be valuable back in the day when fewer people had them.

Today, though, you got a job market saturated with people holding College Diplomas, Master's Degree and Doctorate holders all out of work.  Also, we've watered down our education so badly that some colleges and grad schools are like expensive summer camps.  Grades K-12 are not teaching as effectively anymore, and no, it's NOT the teachers' fault, it's the Board of Education, and school administrators who caused this.

What's in demand now (and what has been for a number of years and for sure into the future) are people with apprenticeships.  Canada is foreseen to be extremely short on them into the future.  Once you start an apprenticeship after the 3-5 years you spend in school and on the job training you're pretty much guaranteed a job making pretty good money with the employer you originally signed on with and you're set in a trade for life.

High schools over the last couple of decades has been neglecting apprenticeships as a whole in favor of colleges and universities and because of that lots of people are graduating and can't find a job with a degree or diploma.

Since I'm more of a hands on person I've been looking into a skilled trade recently, not sure which one I want to get into but my government ends up paying for half of your education as well as giving a tax credit to your employer when you finish your school (because of the current shortage)

Oh yeah.  That reminds me, we got a ray of hope, they're bringing back vo-tech training to our schools again.  Those stupid elitist pigs who removed it from our schools now have to backpedal and admit "college isn't for everyone".  :D

Apprenticeships, be they in Canada or the US, or wherever, are pretty sweet!
